Who is the course for?
The Intermediate Certificate Level 2 is an internationally recognised course
suitable for anyone wishing to broaden their knowledge of wines, and a
valuable asset for those working in the hospitality industry. You will learn
about the major grape varieties, wine styles from the key wine producing
countries of the world, the main spirits categories and understand the
factors that influence the style, quality and price.
FAQ: Do I need to have passed the Foundation to take this Level 2?
Given our high pass rate and small class size we recommend that candidates
with some prior knowledge of wines will be fine starting at Level 2.
Sessions
1 How to taste wine using WSET tasting technique, Food & Wine Matching
2 Factors influencing the style of wine
3 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir
4 Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc
5 Syrah/Shiraz, Grenache and Riesling
6 Italy, Spain and Portugal
7 Sparkling and Sweet Wines
8 Fortified Wines, Spirits and liqueurs
9 Examination (1 hour)
Each session will be supported by relevant tasting samples
Assessment of the course is via an externally set and marked 50 question
multiple choice paper
Course fee £300. The fee includes WSET student book pack, tasting samples,
box of 6 ISO tasting glasses, tuition and examination.
All successful candidates receive the WSET Level 2 Intermediate Certificate
and a WSET lapel badge and as a CWM-WSET graduate will benefit from
discounted rates on CWM tastings and educational events.

Minimum age requirement is 18 years at the time of booking.
Full payment is required before the course begins.
Places will only be confirmed when payment is received.
Cancellations of courses are accepted up to 10 working days before the start
of the course. If a place is cancelled after this time a charge of £75 will
apply to cover the cost of the exam and study materials.
Once the course has begun no refund will be given although consideration
will be given for a transfer to another course at a later date.
