Portugal Wine Tasting

Apple's "Pocket Wine Encyclopedia" says about Pourtugal:

"In the 1960's Portuguese wine was represented in the outside world by one rather underwhelming rose in a pretty bottle - Mateus - and an assortment of half forgotten names from the 1930's such as bucelas and setubal. Since the 1980's Portugal has completely reinvented itself, rediscovering native grape varieties and harnessing new technology to achieve more within winemaking. The consequences have been spectacular."
