Hal Wilson MA (Cantab), Managing Director
Hal has been enthusiastically involved in wine and food since coming up to Cambridge to read Classics at Peterhouse. After graduating he entered the wine trade, establishing Cambridge Wine Merchants with Brett in 1993. He runs our HQ and fine wine department and deals with press. Specialist Areas: Bordeaux (Hal handles all our En Primeur business), Burgundy, Rhone. He’s also our Finance Director, which is why (unlike so many of our competitors) we’re still in business.

Brett Turner, Chairman
Brett and Hal founded CWM and they still own the company. Brett deals with strategy and expansion, setting up new shops and projects, and does all our design and marketing. He hosts many tastings and dinners and runs numerous charity events as part of our good works programme. He also runs his own children’s charity - http://thedavidhardieproject.blogspot.com/

Lyndsey Spellman, Retail Director
After managing our flagship shop on Kings Parade for six years, Lyndsey is now director responsible for staff development and training and all things retail - that's why our shops and staff are so good. She is also our Spirits Buyer and organises lots of fun dinners and tastings.

Clive Pawsey. Retail Manager, Kings Parade Cambridge branch
Clive joined us in 2010 and runs our flagship branch on Kings Parade. He started his career with Oddbins in 1983 and has since run his own wine business and pub. Working in wholesale for some years, he’s happy to be back in the retail business and dealing with customers face to face.

Matthew Boucher. Retail Manager, Mill Rd Cambridge branch
Matthew has been with us since 2003. He has been in the wine trade since 1985 and has a wide range of experience in retail, wholesale, wine education, marketing and public relations. With all this and a WSET Diploma under his belt he is now managing our busy Mill Road branch.

Stewart Travers, Buyer and Oxbridge Sales
Stewart is a senior buyer and the Relationship Manager for Cambridge and Oxford Colleges. Passionate about researching and finding exciting new wines, this goes hand in hand with the trust he has built with clients. These wines find a natural home in CWM branches, as well as on the wine lists of top eateries and in the cellars of Oxbridge colleges.

Alex Burke, Wholesale Manager
Alex joined us in 2006. Previously a Senior Wine Advisor for Virgin Wines on-line, his areas of expertise are Southern France and Spain, where has spent a lot of time learning about wine. His specialist wholesale markets are mostly with large event venues, restaurants, gasto-pubs and college catering departments

Adam Burns, Retail Manager. Bridge Street Cambridge branch
Adam joined us in June 2008 and runs our Bridge Street branch, located on Cambridge’s bustling quayside. He shares our love of wine and comes from a background in food and design. He has a keen passion for food & wine pairing and is currently studying for his WSET advanced certificate.

Steve Hovington, Retail Manager and Wine Tutor
Steve is manager at our shop on Cherry Hinton Road, as well as tutoring for us. He worked for Oddbins for 8 years and is a Recommended Tutor for WSET. Ex-80s pop star too.

William Clements, Wine Bar Manager
Will "snakehips" joined us after graduating from Queens’ college Cambridge and runs our wine bar in Cherry Hinton Road. He’s a hugely talented cook and designs and plans our menu himself. He’s also highly skilled at blind tasting.
