Wine Tasting : Wines with Altitude

Following on from our Great Rivers of the World tasting we're going to be looking at another important factor determining wine style, namely altitude. Some of the world's greatest wines come from grapes grown in at high altitude, where the cool air and direct sunlight help the development of aromas and flavours. It is particularly important in hotter countries such as Argentina and Chile, home to the highest vineyards in the world. We'll be tasting some great wines from around the world and examining the role that altitude plays in producing exhilerating wine. Bread, cheese and olives supplied.
