A modern venture aimed at producing classic, drinkable Rioja that will appeal to a range of consumers. The winery of the Bodega was built in 2006 at the heart of 70-hectare vineyard, close to the village of Sonsierra, and vinifies a mixture of grapes from their own holdings as well as those of a trusted network of local growers in Rioja Alta and Alavesa. López de Haro vinify a broad portfolio of wines across the quality tree of Rioja, ranging from precise and drinkable entry level Rioja made from old vines, through to their Classica Range of Gran Reserva bottlings that are released after extensive aging in the Bodega’s cellars. These wines are amongst the best value to be found in the region, providing drinkers with traditional and complex Riojas that always maintain their fruit character, particularly appealing for those looking for a modern style with less emphasis on oxidative and savoury notes. In their own words, López de Haro aim to create ‘contemporary classics,’ and judging by their popularity with our consumers, they have achieved just that.
