Sustainability
The estate of Château Franc-Baudron has enjoyed the stewardship of the Guimberteau family since 1923, when Albert-Georges Guimberteau purchased 4 hectares of vines in Montaigne-St-Emilion along with an ox and a horse to assist with agricultural labour. From humble beginnings, the modern estate now stretches to 32ha of vineyards that sit amidst a patchwork of further agricultural land, an expansion that bears testament to a century of hard graft and delicious results. Franc-Baudron prides itself on sustainability, practicing organic agriculture and forgoing artificial viticultural intervention of any kind. The estate has become an ecological oasis, a flock of sheep freely grazing the turf whilst bees from their hives buzz amidst rows of vines replanted with a range of soil enhancing native flora.
