Nyetimber
The English sparkling wine that put English sparkling wine on the map. The first English fizz to exclusively use the traditional three champagne grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Parker 91 "wafting from the glass with a pretty bouquet of citrus zest, elderflowers, green apple and very subtle autolytic top notes... pillowy, beautifully balanced, pinpoint mousse, ripe but racy acids and a nicely defined finish.” Jancis Robinson MW. 17.5 "Very frisky mousse! Sophisticated and, I have to admit, champagne-like nose. Lifted and long and very sophisticated. There are just SO many champagnes that are less impressive than this... intellectually stimulating. Wonderfully vibrant..." Lovely pale gold and gentle, fine bubbles. Toasty, spicy and complex aromas showing wonderful development after more than three years on lees in our cellar. The palate supports these complex aromas with honey, almond, pastry and baked apple flavours. Very fine and elegant with a great combination of intensity, delicacy and length.

Domaine du Landreau
Cabernet Franc, Chenin Blanc, and Chardonnay make up the balance of this exceptional sparkling white wine. As the owners of Raymond Morin say, the grapes of Loire Valley are ideally suited to 'take the bubble'. Made in the traditional method by secondary fermentation in bottle and aged on lees for three years minimum, this is a remarkably good value wine. Fruity aromas from the Cabernet Franc, body from the Chardonnay, and persistent acidity from the Chenin Blanc. What more could you want? There’s a clear reason why it’s our ‘preference’ at CWM.

Domaine Odyssee
Natural, organic Grenache Noir from a beautiful vineyard in Baixas, Roussillon. Grown with great care and wildly fermented and aged in tank. Floral, pretty and minerally fresh red fruits with soft texture and generous fruit. Really delightful Grenache. Vincent Carreras has been working in wine industry for 13 years. For nine years he worked for a winery in the south of the Roussillon, Andy Cook’s Mas Cristine and Coume del Mas. Working in the vineyard, cellar and commercial activities - the whole shebang! For four years now he has been employed by a family winery based in Maury - Clos des Vins d'Amour. Who work 25 hectares organically in the west of Roussillon. Mostly in commercial activities, but also working in the cellar. Alongside this, in 2016, Vincent started a new project - Domaine Odyssée. The 3.5ha of vineyards are in Calce and Baixas, in a heart of Roussillon. The sites are small, but unquestionably some of the most beautiful we have seen. Vincent draws on the experiences mentioned above and his time in New Zealand (2011), Argentina (2012) and Bordeaux 2011 to help fully realise what he has there in his exceptional terroir. Vincent works organically, using no weedkillers, no chemical products. He works by hand and with organic fertilizer (he is in conversion right now). He harvests his parcels by himself with friends and family. In the cellar, Vincent’s philosophy is a minimum of intervention "To keep the fruit and the terroir.". The wines are extracted gently with just a little pump over. No filtration, no fining. The only preservative is a little dose of sulphites in very low quantities at bottling "It is important for me the stabilise the wine in respect of the future customers".

Basket Range Wines
Delicious, delicate and ethereal, herbaceous with wet-earth notes, brimming with red candy and sour cherry on the back palate. Serve lightly chilled with felafel, zatar, or spiced meats! Gorgeous wine. From Sholto Broderick at Basket Range Wines: Vineyards: Our vineyard situated at our property in Basket Range comprises 75% of this wine. It is predominantly 777 clone Pinot Noir from a north facing aspect, as well as some mv6 from the adjacent south facing block. The Manyara vineyard in Balhannah comprises the balance of this wine (25%). This fruit is 100% mv6 clone and was harvested at a similar time in late March to the other Pinot in this wine. Winemaking: Each parcel of fruit for this wine was fermented in 1500 and 2000L vats, with the sparing use of whole bunches, in what was a cooler year. Maceration ranged from 7-14 days, depending on the parcel, with daily gentle pump-overs for cap management. The wine was maturated in seasoned French barrique barrels for 8 months. The earlier-picked fruit, showing prettiness and tension, underwent a gentle fermentation process. This Pinot Noir showcases notes of bramble and forest floor, with a delicate, fine-tea like tannin structure that adds to its overall elegance and complexity.

Patrick Javillier
Patrick Javillier is a perfectionist. He vinifies parcel by parcel giving the wine its concentration and richness. Raspberry and vanilla go hand-in-hand on the nose. Supple, fresh, this wine is discreet and accessible in its youth. Les Grands Liards is located at the foot of the hillside with a clay and limestone soil rich in pebbles. Asian style beef will be enhanced by this Red Savigny-Lès-Beaune.

Il Palazzone
We've shipped this wonderful 'Baby Brunello' from Il Palazzone for over a dozen years now. 100% Sangiovese from a blend of different vintages (the blend always includes some of the estates own Brunello barrels), primarily 2021. Bottled on September 6th 2022. We have shipped the wine with an extra year in bottle as we feel these bottlings hugely benefit from some time to come together and show at their best. This long time favourite offers true character and unbelievable value its price. The wine is 100% Sangiovese Grosso, known in Montalcino as Brunello - all from the estates own Brunello di Montalcino vineyards.

Domaine l'Oratoire Saint Martin
Jancisrrobinson.com "Primary nose with dark fruits, mulberry and spice. Powerful and brooding palate with juicy red fruits and quite marked tannins. Simple but well put together. (AC)" Domaine de l’Oratoire Saint-Martin is an historical vineyard in Cairanne of 25 hectares, farmed according to organic and biodynamic standards. Cultivated for ten generations by the Alary family, the estate has reached iconic status in the region largely thanks to the work of brothers Frédéric and François Alary who took over the running of the estate in 1984. In the summer of 2020, the Alary family finally had to relinquish the property and, looking to ensure the continuity of this great Southern Rhône estate, chose Château Mont-Redon as their preferred buyer. Pierre Fabre of Mont-Redon is committed to the same farming and production principles that have given these wines cult status. With its steep slopes of yellow and blue clay soils (with a high active limestone percentage) this north-eastern part of Cairanne can truly be considered one of the Southern Rhône’s stand out regions. Vines are de-budded and pruned short, vineyards are grown organically and biodynamically and harvesting is by hand. Yields are inevitably low. Vineyards are old and consist of Grenache and a notably high proportion of Mourvèdre, unusual for the appellation, with Syrah making up the numbers. Vines are replanted using massale selections. In the winery fermentations are carried out naturally in large open top wooden fermenters and ageing is carried out for 18 months in neutral used oak hogsheads and tonneaux. Bottling is without fining or filtration so the wines can throw a deposit. From bud to bottle, every step of this wine-growing process is designed to highlight the outstanding terror of this part of the Rhône. These wines have a real sense of place. They are alive, clear, and drinkable. They age famously well, too.

Domaine Bruno Sorg
What a joy, and a rare treat. Very old vine Pinot Gris is quite a rarity across Alsace. Mature Pinot Gris wines develop gorgeous nutty creamy flavours over time - but that's a long time to wait. Strangely such a wine, although quite young, made from ancient vines, seems to offer some of the same complexity. Ripe orchard fruits on the nose, oily creamy spicy flavours to follow. full bodied. What a food wine!

Domaine Delhome
"I like wines that are direct, with tension, a vertebral column, for both the reds and the whites". Romain Delhome "This is an interesting newcomer to the ranks in the northern sector of Crozes-Hermitage, with vineyards in the communes of Crozes itself, Larnage, Gervans and Erôme. There are almost 11.5 hectares of Crozes across 20 plots, Romain is the fifth generation; his great-grandfather Flavien Delhome had vineyards, while, on his mother’s side there were vineyards under her family in the shape of Severin Habrard, so there are two old roots at play here. Father Gérald took over the domaine in 1993, and concentrated on apricots and vines, the grape harvest sent to the Cave de Tain. Son Romain came on to the domaine in 2018; he had worked locally at Gigondas and in the Ventoux at Chêne Bleu, as well as in Virginia in the USA. The cellar was built in 2019. The domaine is HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) registered, a green credential, and the 2022 harvest will be officially organic. 100% Syrah (average age 40 years) from south-facing sanded granite soils on Les Sourdets at 300 metres at Larnage next to the cellars, granite fragments on flat ground at bottom of Le Caire at Gervans, hand harvested, destemmed, pre-fermentation cold maceration at 8°-10°C "to seek red fruits, especially from Gervans", 20-25 day steel vat vinification at 24°-28°C, pumping overs, part vat emptying/refilling, raised 75% 3-10 year 228-litre & 600-litre oak casks (85% 228-litres, 15% 600-litres), 25% steel vat 11-12 months". This is excellent Crozes Hermitage with good structure with what feels like perfect extraction - wonderful texture and depth. But the Boreal is ultimately all about the fruit, though, which is charmingly wild in character and quite dark. Blackberry, the beginnings of mulberry and a bit of liquorice in there too. A wonderful offering.

Chateau Cissac
CWM Ranking: High 2:1 The nose is fruity and offers power and intensity. There are notes of blackcurrant, blackberry and, to a lesser extent, fresh cherry, combined with hints of violet, lily, Sichuan pepper and a discreet touch of camphor. The palate is fresh, mineral, balanced and offers fresh acidity and a fine tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh blackberry, fresh wild blackcurrant and more slightly violet combined with hints of liquorice, wild red berries and fine varietal, liquorice and toasted notes.

Domaine Zind-Humbrecht
The nose shows subtle floral notes, typical of the Gewurztraminer grape variety, but also complex, slightly reductive, mineral, leather and spicy/peppery aromas. It almost feels like the scent one would get after a rainfall on the pebbles of this vineyard. It will benefit from air (carafe) and will continue to open up with age. The palate is vigorous, elegant and full of energy. Bone dry, with a velvety tannic texture, the palate shows an almost light red wine structure with a salivating finish. This wine will be excellent with food (grilled fish, prawns, light spicy food).

Domaine Comelade
Lionel Comelade produces this stunning wine from ancient vine Macabeu and Grenache Gris grown on amazing black and white schist soil vineyards between Estagel and Latour de France in the Roussillon. Both white grapes were harvested later in the season in 1990 with high sugar levels. The grapes were partially fermented in concrete vats and then neutral brandy was added to stop fermentation and keep natural sweetness in the wine. Then the wine was passed to second use oak barrels and left in the cellar for 32 years before bottling (to order). No ‘topping up’ of the barrels occurred in the 33 years. The wine is tremendous, possibly surpassing the 1988. It is ‘ambre’ in colour. A bright, wild nose with orange rind, orange oil and warm spices. The palate is thrilling with great complexity and depth with thrilling, wild acidity which really charms. Astonishing and quite unique. The wine is one of the best value fortified wines in the world. 33 years of age, so interesting and delicious. A steal at this price.
