Lovely, opulent aromas of grapefruit and peach follow through to a lithe body, with loads of fruit as well as abundant melon and apple character and citrusy acidity. Producer Profile The Cramele Recas Estate, owned by Englishman, Philip Cox and his Romanian wife Elvira, have put in a huge amount of work into transforming their slice of grape growing history into a contemporary winemaking haven. The immaculate vineyards are a combination of evolved plantings from 1447 and much more recent plantings too. With recent investments into modernising and improving their winery, they regularly host world class flying winemakers, vintage to vintage, to work with their team. This enables them to create top quality wines and constantly challenge themselves push innovations and approach winemaking with an open mind. Viticulture The winery has been fully fitted out with stainless steel, automatic temperature controlled tanks for fermenting and storing the wine. The primary vinification facility has been completely renewed with the best possible equipment for gently crushing, de stemming, pressing the grapes- in order to be able to maintain all the quality in the grapes. Winemaking Grapes are night harvested, to arrive cool at the winery. Crushed and de stemmed then pumped through a must chiller on the way to the press. Pressings and free-run fractions are separated for fermentation. Juice clarified by flotation then racked to stainless steel for fermentation at 10-15 deg C over 2 to 3 weeks. Centrifuged and cold stabilized prior to blending, filtering and bottling.
Like a great Provence, but one from an actual great terroir and not just sandy soils. This year Syrah and Carignan joining the Grenache and Mourvedre of the outstanding debut in 2020 which garnered high praise from critics and customers. In the words of one customer "Youll be pleased to know you werent wrong with that Rosé (Dom. des Soulanes Cuvee Rosé). It is one of the best I have ever tasted and Ive tasted a few, many with a much bigger price tag. Actually I prefer it to Garrus (£100), dEsclans (£30). How much more have you got?" Published on decanter.com in June 2022: Domaine des Soulanes, Rosé, Côtes du Roussillon, Languedoc-Roussillon, France 2021 "The delicate, somewhat restrained nose hides a fine wine on the palate. It's a slightly darker pink in colour in the glass, too. Exuberant and playful in the mouth, with bowls of fresh cranberries, white raspberries and goji berries. A tangy citrus and lemon thyme note on the finish leaves you suitably refreshed and ready for the next sip. This may even have some intriguing potential for ageing. Certified organic, hand harvested". 90/100 Drinking Window 2022 - 2025
We all need a little 'Funkstille' (radio silence) in our life now and again. Kick back and take a moment to enjoy the silence with a glass of Grüner Veltliner. With its subtle exotic hints, ripe pear and fresh citrus flavours, it's a dry wine with complex flavours. The palate is rich with flavours of melon and grapefruit with a refreshing, zippy finish.
Seriously up there with the best of Champagne: yeasty and buttery, cracking value. Fruit grown on selected, cool climate vineyards across Tasmania. To maximize blending options and complexity in the final wine, batches are kept separate during winemaking Secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle and is aged on yeast lees for as long as possible. The average age of the final blend is around two years Honeysuckle and citrus scents are immediately apparent Slight aromas of nougat, roasted nuts and a hint ofstrawberry from the Pinot Noir. Delicate fruits and creaminess fills the mouth with a lingering finish of citrus and nougat.
This beautifully crafted, noble native wine of Puglia is a full and rounded red. Possessing a rich intensity of flavour, it is the model of a perfectly formed Primitivo.
