Domaine des Soulanes
A very special wine from ancient plants of two of the rarest and very best vines for Soualnes terroir, Grenache Gris and Carignan Gris. This really does have everything. It's floral, honeyed orchard and citrus fruits added to its sumptuousness, its layers of texture and bright but not too spiky acidity. Very long with great balance and so much interest. Divine stuff that is here in tiny quantities.

Rivetto
The winery’s finest. After three years of barrel aging and two in bottle, Barolo can be considered a "Riserva". Enrico selects his Barolo Riserva exclusively from a select few barrels of the vintage that show a greater aging potential. The extra years of ageing guarantee greater smoothness of the tannins and it has intensified the aromatics of leather, red fruit, balsamic and orange oil. Tremendously complex and very deep and satisfying Barolo for the ages. Drink from now until 2060. "Maturing mid ruby with orange tinges. Very closed and backward on the nose only showing hints of garden herbs. Succulent, embryonic fruit with fine, gravelly tannins. Compact and closed on the finish and still monolithic. This will need time". 17.5/20 Walter Speller on jancisrobinson.com 94/100 James Suckling

Az. Agr. Castellaccio
Davide Bottai is the fourth generation to produce wine at Castellaccio, an eleven hectare estate that historically sold its grapes as bulk. Even before Davide’s recent transformational changes, the winery was already a pioneer, having converted to organic farming in 2013 at the behest of his grandfather and the previous management team. The vineyards are all high elevation for the Chianti Classico DOCG, all between 500m and 700m above sea level where sandstone and quartz dominate the soils. The eleven hectares are split between Lamole and Lucolena, including some of the highest vineyard sites, and, THE very highest vineyard site in all of Chianti Classico. All of the beautiful fruit from these outstanding, unsung and nearly-forgotten terroirs see wild fermentation in concrete before aging in various vessels - 25hl, tonneau or untoasted Burgundy barrels. "Lennino" revisits an original "local recipe", blending Sangiovese - selected annually from the estate's top-performing crus - with 30% Trebbiano and Malvasia. In the 2024 vintage, the white grapes macerated for two months, extracting a flavour and texture that adds to the concentration in a charming, unique way. The result is a crystal-clear wine that evokes the finesse of a Fleurie, a Pinot Noir or a Poulsard, combining the joy of complex "glou-glou" with a deep and heartfelt historical nod. Unique, exciting and quite brilliant.

Zorah
The vineyard is located in Vayotz Dzor, which is historically known as the most prestigious wine region in Armenia. This is a wine for those who think they have tried everything! The palate reflects the exotic nose with hints of soft red fruits, dried mountain herbs and wild earth. Generous and soft, with balanced, full-bodied structure and mature tannins before a long, evolved mineral finish.

Rivetto
Only 24 bottles available from this small and prestigious vineyard in 2019. Briccolina is the pioneer vineyard for Rivetto's biodynamic approach, introduced in 2015. It is the only Barolo Cru granted the Demeter certification. It is a vineyard-garden, a poly-culture entirely worked by hand. Situated in Serralunga d’Alba at 340 meters with west/south-west exposure. The soil is clay-limestone, with an abundant presence of marl at a depth of two meters. Soil with sub-alkaline reaction. Scaled selection, carried out three times during the 45 days before the grape harvest. Manually harvested as late as possible. Stalk and grape seeds removal/pressing and maceration for sixty days, half of which with submerged-cap and the other half with a floating cap. No controlling of temperature during the fermentation that occurs naturally on the wild yeasts of this special garden in large, open-topped wooden vats. Malolactic completed. Aged in 15-hl oak barrels for 36 months, then aged in bottle for a further 16 months before release. Sometimes the bottles are held back a further five years. "Mid ruby with the beginning of orange tinges. Still a little closed on the nose with hints of black tea leaves and slumbering raspberry fruit. Plenty of juicy raspberry fruit on the palate. It is concentrated, juicy and elegant at the same time. Bags of powdery tannins on the finish and ends a little racy, before a full fruit spread." 17+/20 Walter Speller on jancisrobinson.com 93/100 James Suckling 95/100 Falstaff

Chateau du Glana
CWM Rating Firswt Class 65% Cabernet Sauvignon 35% Merlot. 35% new oak. This is the most impressive du Glana I have tasted, a full bodied fruity wine with excellent concentration, sweet creamy black fruits and a well-balanced long finish. There were many very good Saint-Julien wines in 2022 but I think this is the best value of them.

Domaine Danjou-Banessy
Natural, biodynamic and vegan. Grenache, Carignan and Mourvedre from 80 year old vines, Made without filtering or fining. Pale but gorgeous mid red colour. At first on the nose, you are like "What even is that?". Whatever it is, you know that you like it. Elegant, subtle fruit is intermixed with gentle herb, earth and savoury characters. Deep and wonderful. On the palate the wine is elegant and deep again, but not heavy in the slightest. Ruffled fruit and savoury notes with minerality and real finesse. These wines are like no other from the Roussillon. Outstanding.

Croft
Attractive cassis nose with powerful, concentrated fruit aromas. Fresh, rich, firm and full of fruit including, dark berries and chocolate. A wine with good body, structure and length. Single Quinta wines need decanting as they are usually a decade old, and will throw a sediment as they age. Walnuts are an excellent accompaniment to Vintage Port, along with rich flavoured cheeses such as Silton and dried fruits.

A wine from an amazing single site with vines older than 90 years. Carignan on black schistous marl. Aged for 20 months in barrels. Possibly Roussillon's most elegant expression of the grape? Outstanding wine.

Rivetto
Enrico Rivetto is one of the pioneers of the Nascetta grape in these times, and a seeker of truth for the varietal expression in his clay-limestone soils on Sinio at 400 metres altitude with northern exposure. The soils have a sub-alkaline reaction, low in nitrogen. Nascetta is a semi-aromatic grape native to Lange with excellent aging potential. Historical texts liken this varietal to the great wines of Rhein. Manually harvested, sometimes at different stages depending on the vintage conditions. Nascetta sees wild, spontaneous fermentation. 80% of the wine is macerated on skins for three days then sees spontaneous fermentation and then breeds in concrete tank. The other 20% is vinified in Amphora with post ferment maceration lasting for several months. These two portions are then blended just before bottling. The 2022 shows gorgeous yellow plum, honeysuckle and herbs on the nose. The wine is citrus-juicy, yet with good minerality and a lean and waxy structure that shows good tension. Quite wonderful and delightfully curious. "Langhe Nascetta DOC 2022 is an example of a fairly rare autochthonous white variety which has been known in the region for centuries. This is a version which combines the grape’s natural aromatics with a bit of heft (13.5% abv). It saw 30 days, one-third in amphora and two-thirds in stainless steel, with three days on skins. The palate has nutty depth and is quite savoury with just enough pithy texture. Lovely, and super-interesting". David Crossley’s Wine World of Wine

Domaine Gilles Remoriquet
Gilles Remoriquet is not a winemaker who rests on his laurels. He is forever looking for ways to improve his wines. Most recently he has been to the Jura to see a specialist about selecting the right blend of manure and has bought a second sorting table which eliminates under-ripe berries by flotation! Cuvaisons are long, giving a light colour yet concentrated, intense fruit flavours. Remoriquet is one of the top estates in Nuits but the prices have yet to catch up. At the top of the range the Vosne-Romannée 1er Cru au dessous des Malconsorts is situated next to La Tâche and tastes like it is! "Good meaty, powdery, cocoa dusted tannin through out. Persistent, savoury, ripe victoria plum and raspberry underneath. Long, serious, elegant"

Domaine Danjou-Banessy
A blend of Genache Blanc, Gris and Noir, from ancient 90 year old vines in the ancient and quite amazing 'C|os des Escounils' that the brothers are developing and working on re-establishing it's other potential vineyard areas. This is beautiful, racy, elegant wine that is softly textured and very ‘modern’ in its freshness and balance.

Greywacke
Right from the get-go, this sets itself apart from the rest of the pack with a level of polish, complexity and balance. The nose has ripe peach and mango fruits; gentle savoury, yeasty complexity adds biscuity aromas too. The palate has an immediate sense of concentration and the textural richness builds in smooth layers; there’s pear and nectarine, and a juicy, precise finish. Scents of a summer orchard: juicy nectarines, plump sun-dried apricots and tree-ripened lemons mingled with musky oriental spices. The palate is silky and sumptuous – warm honeyed stone fruit with almonds and shortcake. A lithe, textural wine of intense richness, laced with a citrusy, sherbet-like zest.

Chapel Down
From an exceptional south-facing single vineyard set high on the North Downs. Without question the best still English wine I have tasted. It’s mouth-fillingly fine with rounded, supple peach-like fruit and an ever so slightly toasty, vanilla finish thanks to nine months in French oak. If you like serious white Burgundy or Chablis, you’ll love this.

This is a really interesting offer and shows that Enrico is without doubt working in one of the most interesting ways with this grape in the Langhe.

Domaine Claude Marechale
Nice crunchy nose of fruit, mouth to match in a fairly powerful register. It corresponds to what one expects from a good Savigny, fruity, earthy and frank. Allen Meadows; ‘the quality of these wines is nothing short of phenomenal compared to the usual quality of the respective appellations’. Claude Marechal makes his wines as naturally as possible, taking his inspiration from his late friend Henri Jayer who he trained with early in his career. In common with Jayer he makes wines above and beyond the expectations of his terroirs. His wines are pure and sleek with vibrant fruit and great potential to age. These wines are available in very limited quantities but are something you should definitely have in your cellar. In the vineyard ripeness is the watchword and the vines are maintained in order to maximise phenolic maturity every vintage whatever the conditions. No chemical fertilisers are used and the harvest is hand picked each vintage, Claude says he is usually the last in each appellation to pick which shows on the ripe fruited nature of his wines. After harvest the bunches are sorted by hand and gently de-stemmed before vinification using natural yeasts. The fermenting must is pumped over twice daily and once alcoholic fermentation is finished the wines are placed into oak barrels where they mature for between 10 and 15 months.

Long finish and should evolve well over 15 years.

Chateau Liot
90/100 Georgia Hindle, Decanter "Creamy, honeyed and citrus flavours, lemon and grapefruit rind giving the spiced frame with flint and salt giving some mineral touches too. It has a nice weight and density with cool, apple, pear, mango and lemon fruit on the finish. Feels supremely clean and well worked if lacking a little more unctuousness. 115g/l residual sugar. 3.52g total acidity. 3.88pH."

Domaine Danjou-Banessy
Old vine Grenache grown on decomposed black schist with a limestone sub soil with some quartz, that produces something amazing. Ethereal, sublime and fresh, this achieves a level of finesse akin to fine red Burgundy. Remarkable, special, very good indeed.

Domaine Laguerre
Very rare, very low production. One of the legendary white wines of the Roussillon grown at elevation (500m) in a vineyard called 'Le Soula' (the name adopted by the neighbouring estate Eric Laguerre was once involved with) high in Saint-Martin-de-Fenouillet, on granite soils. Mineral, taught, fine and long with beautiful texture. A blend of Marsanne, Roussanne, Rolle, Grenache Blanc and Maccabeu. Outstanding wine which can age gracefully for 25++ years. Beautiful vineyards that are beautifully worked by the master Eric Laguerre. After first visiting the vineyard back in September 2009, we are very happy to now be importing the wines from Domaine Laguerre exclusively to the UK market.

Rivetto
A quite thrilling and utterly extraordinary Nebbiolo d'Alba from the brilliant Enrico Rivetto. The Nebbiolo vines grow on the Lirano hill at Sinio at an altitude 400m with exposure to the west on clay-limestone soils - on the border of Barolo. The grapes are manually harvested late September, destalked and fermented naturally in Amphora with its wild, indigenous yeasts. The wine macerates in these terracotta containers for a very long time. The wine has great energy and tension, it is extraordinarily elegant and wonderfully complex too. A neo-classical marvel of a wine. Enrico has dedicated this wine to the hill where he lives and grows. It's an absolutely extraordinary offering that regularly gets scored in the mid-to high nineties in the American journals, if that's your thing: 94/100 in Wine Enthusiast for the 2021, 96/100 WE and 96/100 in Wine Spectator for the 2019, 95/100 in WE for the 2017 etc, etc. "Lustrous mid ruby. Serious and slowly opening up. Lots of minerals and subdued fine cherry fruit. Lush, cool yet ripe perfumed red fruit with long, sandy tannins. Great balance and length and very fine". 17.5/20 Walter Speller on jancisrobinson.com July 2025 "Vibrantly intense and vividly pure, this must-try pick gushes with crushed raspberry, candied violet and fragrant wild herbs. It feels as light as a feather yet crams in buckets of red berries with an evocative undertow of baked earth and stony minerals. Gorgeously fluid and energetic, it flows seamlessly, dispersing suede-like tannins all over the mouth. Absolutely moreish! Enrico Rivetto chooses the more restrictive Nebbiolo d'Alba denomination to distinguish this amphora-aged version from his more classically crafted Langhe Nebbiolo. It spends a full six months on skins and is bottled with less than 60ppm of SO2". 93/100 Michalela Morris, Decanter Magazine June 2025 An absolute, slept-on beauty that we are very proud to bring to the UK.
