Family Hasselbach of the Gunderloch Estate own around 4.5 hectares of this prime vineyard made up predominantly of very steep parcels. It yields wines of striking mineral character paired with a broad spectrum of expressive spice and fruit aromas.

Displaying a deep purple red, Le Volte dell’Ornellaia 2022 shows ripe fruity aromas such as cherries and blackberries, inaddition to black pepperiness. The palate is generous with considerable body at first, followed by smooth and enduring tannins. Upbeat freshness and pleasurable fruity aromas make up the finish.

The 30 hectares of Coudoulet are located just east of the vineyard of Beaucastel on the other side of the A7 motorway. For reasons that have now become obvious, Coudoulet is often considered the baby Beaucastel. The Coudoulet soil has many similarities to that of Beaucastel. It is made out of Molasse seabed covered by diluvial alpine deposits. These pebbles called 'Galets Roulés' play a big role: They take in the heat during the day and let it if off slowly at night which gives a good start to the vines in the Spring.

Intense dried fruit aromas combine with forestal notes of anise and chlorophyll. Firm mouthfeel with a touch of tannin that gives body and texture. Enclosed by drystone walls on three sides and backing steeply onto the Montagne de Beaune, Clos des Monsnières offers a beautiful panorama of Pommard and the Côte. Quite shallow clay-limestone soils over ironstone gravel enable Chardonnay to ripen slowly.

The colour is an intense ruby red, with black to violet tones in contours. Aromas: Ripe red fruits, figs, spicy by nature (black pepper and cumin) with the aromas provided by the wood such as smoked and Tobacco. Mouth: Intense and sweet entry due to the ripe, firm and intense Tannins, product of a long and slow maturity. Medium to high structure, juicy has balanced acidity and long finish. A rich and very elegant red, a real treat.

Cherry red colour with a garnet rim, intense aromas of black fruit, blackberries and blueberries, accompanied by deep aromas of fresh red fruit, together with creamy notes of green coffee and a background of vanilla and spices. On the palate it is intense, round. and silky with flavours of ripe red berries of the forest, vanilla and mineral notes of chalk and silky silica sandstone, in the retronasal notes of very ripe red berries appear, with a very long finish, the texture of the calcareous soil is also appreciated and the sand that gives us freshness and persistence in the mouth.

With it's cherry red colour in the glass, you'll get intense black fruit aromas, blackberries and blueberries, and deeper aromas of red fruits, notes of coffee and vanilla peeking through in the back ground. On the palate, it's those black and red fruits, vanilla and mineral chalky notes (from the Tempranillo). A long long finish, slightly dry on the palate. But don't take my word for it ... Barbaresco DOCG Nervo is 100% Nebbiolo grown 350 meters in Treiso, with exposure to the south (three-fourths of the vineyard is surrounded by the Mazzalupo forest, providing great biodiversity). The soils are Lequio (the oldest type of soil found in Piedmont), comprised of layers of marl and sand, cultivated organically. The plot of Nervo appears in the municipal maps dated 1906, as evidence of presence of vineyard in this area in past times. The hill, in even more ancient times, was "protected" by anthropomorphic stones, depicting human faces, found among the rows of vines. After the stalk and grape seeds removal and pressing, the natural fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures of 28-30° C in steel tanks. Maceration for 20 days, malolactic is completed. The wine is then bred in large Slavonian/Hungarian/Swiss oak barrels for 30 months. Pale ruby red with orange tones - it appears stunningly clear and utterly beautiful to the eye. Clean and clear aromas of gorgeous forest fruits with high floral notes. Beautiful structure and finesse, with gently kicking tannins typical of the area. An absolutely gorgeous Barbaresco that seems ready now, but we're sure can be enjoyed for at least 10++ years. "Treiso. Just mid ruby. Lifted, aromatic raspberry fruit on the nose. Generally regarded by all at CWM as one of the very best wines that we import. Truly wonderful old school, fine, vibrant and utterly extraordinary Brunello di Montalcino from a wonderful single site. This wine is produced with grapes from the vineyard Le Due Porte which surrounds the cellar at 540 metres above sea level. This wine maintains the typical structure of a Brunello vecchio stampo and epitomizes finesse and elegance. Vinified to take advantage of its notable tannins and acidity to evolve beautifully over the next decade and beyond, it is juicy and complex. With only a few vintages in the bottle so far, this special wine is elegant and distinguished and drinks well in its youth, while promising to age beautifully.

Exceptional single vineyard Champagne from vines just next to the Deutz winery in Ay. All Pinot Noir, this is Deutz heart and soul in a bottle. Fine, spicy, harmonious.

The 'house' Barolo from Rivetto. The only producer who grows organically and biodynamically and is certified in the DOCG. This beautiful Serralunga is grown on soils of serravallian origin, which are clay-limestone. Soil with sub-alkaline reaction, with presence of magnesium, calcium and iron. On east, south-east and north-east slopes at between 340-420 metres altitude from the vineyards of Serra, Manocino and San Bernardo. Selection in stages, carried out three times in the 45 days before the start of the harvest. Manually harvested as late as possible. The must sees stem and grape seeds removal, pressing and room temperature maceration for two days. Total duration of maceration is 20-25 days. The wine then see natural fermentation on its wild yeast at 28-30° C. Malolactic completed. The wines is then aged in large Slavonian oak barrels (30hL) for 30 months, aged in bottle for further ten months before release. . A pale, elegant example of Barolo from Serralunga. Violets, rose hips, tobacco and leather are surrounded by gorgeous red fruits and elegant tannins. Enrico works wonders in this area to produces such ethereal, beautiful wines with grace and power that shall drink well on release and develop further interest for at least twenty years from this superb vintage. Kanonkop's Pinotage comes from 63-year-old unirrigated bush vines grown on the estate. Bright ruby-red hues. A textbook Stellenbosch Pinotage with aromatic and spicy aromas of mulberry, raspberry and cinnamon. Muscular, well-integrated tannins add great structure. Flavours of bramble, violets, plums and black berries are balanced by scented new oak. An elegant wine with savoury notes on the lengthy finish, and a lifting underlying freshness.

Refined and mellow mouth, full of honey and candied mirabelle aromas. Nice acidity, rich and complex, it has a characteristic hint of minerality.

54% Pinot Noir, 46% Chardonnay 3g sugar Dosage Expressive notes of white peach, honeysuckle and quince on the nose, followed by some brioche and exotic fruits. On the palate the champagne is full and quite open, beautifully balanced and with real richness, with touches of ginger and apricot jam.

Something of Pouilly-Fuissé in the style here, a rich oak-infused nose, but on the palate linear, mineral and refined. Elegant, broad and complex, so unlike other English chardonay. Super-premium estate sited in the warmest, driest corner of England, near the coast and Malden (of posh salt fame). This south-facing ridge enjoys an exceptionally long warm growing season - so rare in England. Our old friend John Atkinson, Master of Wine, who is an expert on cool-climate viticulture, is enthusiastically involved. Winemaker is Liam Idzikowski who boasts long experience in English wine-making; backed by owners the Bunker family, the winery is an astonishing no-expense-spared jewel in the crown for English wine.

When you order wines En Primeur you buy wines that are as yet not available for physical delivery but are available for purchase. They are sold without Excise and VAT taxes and an invoice is issued soon after order, for payment. Excise and VAT may become payable when the wine physically arrives in the UK. When a wine arrives in the UK is a matter of when it becomes available from the producer and when we are able to import it. Normally wines will be shipped 2-3 years after harvest, but it can take longer or less than that. When the wines are shipped to the UK they can either be transferred, under bond, to an account in a Bonded warehouse or delivered Sold En-Primeur. An incredibly limited and rare bottling of Ridge Monte Bello to be delivered in 2026. The core blend of Monte Bello 2023 was assembled by the production team over two days in February. Out of twenty-six candidate lots, fourteen were selected at this stage, with a few earmarked as potential additions at the next blending session. The team reconvened on May 3rd for the second and final assemblage of 2023 Monte Bello. The panel of eight determined that, of the three further lots being presented, just one had the qualities consistent with Monte Bello. The addition of this lot will result in a final blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. The typically intense dark purple colour of a young Monte Bello belies the vivid aromatics: the nose opens with a wonderful floral aroma over the precise berry fruit. There is copious structure, but it is very fine-grained even at this early stage. Splendid balance and harmony already, with an ultra-long finish indicating the great potential of this wine.

Le Due Porte is 540 metres above sea level. Budbreak is later here, often avoiding issues with late frosts and snow. Ripening is slow and constant. The soil profile preserves humidity; important when making a wine such as Brunello that does not contemplate irrigation. Alberese has high levels of calcium carbonate which favors acidity, aided and abetted by the slower ripening and later harvest due to the exposition and altitude. We generally pick Le Due Porte as much as two weeks after our vineyards in Castelnuovo dell’Abate and are often amongst the last in Montalcino to harvest. The grapes develop organoleptic complexity from that extra hang-time and from the pronounced difference between day and night temperatures. In fact the altitude guarantees extreme thermal excursion even in hotter years which is wonderful for aromatic development. Over the last two decades we have seen, year after year, a pronounced character emerge in the fruit from this vineyard, a wine that maintains the typical structure of a Brunello vecchio stampo and epitomises finesse and elegance."

The Dentelles de Montmirail (from the Latin mons mirabilis, ‘extraordinary mountain’) is a small, jagged mountain chain that forms a natural amphitheatre around the sandstone village of Gigondas and its surrounding vineyards. Roman legionaries chose this beautiful, protected site to plant their grapevines. Located mid-slope at 300-400 metres above sea level, the Famille Perrin vineyard is amongst the most historical vineyards in Gigondas. It benefits from a flow of cold air which blows through the valley situated to the west of the village. The vines grow on limestone, calcareous marl and sandy soils, giving the Grenache immense finesse and elegance with unique aromas. Some old plots of Grenache planted on sand have pre-phylloxera vines.

This is a ‘hands on’ Domaine that firmly believes good wine is made in the vineyard. Serge’s daughter, Valèrie, looks after their 15 hectares of vineyards and makes the wine with a view to preserving as much terroir in the wines as possible. Their vines are planted on a unique concoction of clay/limestone ‘Terres Blanches’ over kimmeridgean clay and crushed oyster shells. Moreover the vineyard slopes are all fully exposed to every second of sun each day has to offer being south and south-west facing. Such exceptional terroir as this resounds throughout the wines which practically sing with flavours of gunflint, flowers and cut grass.
