Critic Review
16/20 jancisrobinson.com "Blend of Aramon, Oeillades, Counoise and Grenache from the southern Rhône. Hand-picked. Whole clusters, short maceration. In vats for six months, ‘for early bottling on the fruit’. Certified organic (AB, Ecocert) and biodynamic farming. Roustan has ‘vin de soif’ on the label, and that’s exactly what this gamin wine is. Spindly tannins packed with coltish energy chase after mischievously racy fruit. Dart and dash, spray and splash. Light red in every meaning of the phrase. And yes, thirst quenching. Drink with your ham sandwich after you climbed to the top of that very high hill. What a truly lovely way to celebrate these pretty obscure grape varieties. And what a pity it has to be Vin de France. (TC)"
