Ch. Franc Baudron 2016 Montagne Saint-Emilion, Cert. Organic

This natural wine has a complex nose of citrus fruit, lemon zest and citrus blossoms along with hint of tropical fruits, herbs and sweet spices. Fresh, crisp and lovely minerality on the finish.

Another classic vintage for Caronne Ste Gemme, but with some lovely rich ripe fruit. This is a very classic ‘Claret’, taught perfectly balanced acidity and lots of light touches. Only 13% which is where I think good Bordeauxs should be. There is good aging potential here.

The ambassador of the range, this is a radiant, pale-pink appearance, a delicate, subtle nose and is fresh and lively on the palate. The fruity aromas of this easy-drinking wine make it perfect for an aperitif or enjoyed with tapas, a tasty pizza or a little charcuterie.

The 13th Century Ormanni estate is located in the heart of Chianti, between the towns of Poggibonsi and Castellina in Chianti. For the last 200 years the estate has been owned by the Brini Batacchi family, and it is Paolo Brini Batacchi and his daughter, Paola, who run the winery today. Certified Organic. Ruby red with notes of violets, cherries and wild strawberries. Medium-bodied with delicate tannins and a fresh and fragrant taste, it is perfect for serving on the table every day.

Very good Rioja that offers superb value. One year in a mixture of French and American oak barrels, adds texture and flavour to the tempranillo dominant blend from one of Rioja's most consistent producers.

Cortese shines here: lime, almond, crisp green apple, light herbal and grassy notes. Low alcohol, no oak, bone dry. Elegant, zesty, smart choice.

The nose is refined and aromatic, with aromas of white peach and citrus fruits and a touch of minerality. The palate is fruity and crunchy with great length. A well balanced wine, between roundness and freshness.

A small family-run bodega near the village of Navarrete, in the heart of Rioja D.O.C., making wines of great integrity and some finesse. It was founded in 1918 and is today run by Antonio Navajas and his wife. This is a big favourite of many of our customers and on a 'value for money' basis it is not hard to understand why.

Pessac-Leognan, just south of the city of Bordeaux, features gravel-rich soils that produce wines with excellent clarity and definition. Odyssée is a cuvée by Château Haut Nouchet, and its vines are some of the highest elevation in the appellation. The blend is about 60/40 Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot, with a splash of Petit Verdot. We found this wine impressive in its combination of intensity and restraint. The nose is dark and polished with plum and wild cherries, and notes of liquorice and spice. The mouth is inky and dark but the fruit is laid over a beautifully clean structure of fine gravely tannin. This is a classy, sleek Bordeaux with a beautifully balanced mouthfeel, that tastes a lot more expensive than it is.

Fruity, brambly and supple, this distinctly Argentinian Malbec will impress with generous lashing of plum, blackberry and hints of vanilla spice. About the winery: Bodega Sottano was founded in 1890 by Mr. Fioravante Sottano who settled in Mendoza after moving from Italy. Today the estate is a byword for quality, modern Mendoza wines that express a delicious sense of place.

PRO for Prosecco, VER for Vero (Truly in Italian) BIO for Biologico (Organic). The palate is soft and fresh, offering zippy acidity and a complex array of primary fruit flavours, including peach, pear and apricot. This is enjoyable on its own as an aperitif but also pairs wonderfully with oriental cuisine. All vineyards are situated on gentle hillside slopes in the Treviso province, at an altitude of 250 metres above sea level. The grapes are carefully handpicked in mid-late September when they have reached full maturity, but still retain a high acidity level, giving the freshness and fruitiness typical of Prosecco.
