This is lovely, gluggable Primitivo from a sustainable winery in Puglia that is making excellent value wines for everyday drinking. Lots of Puglian celebration here. Redcurrants and ripe cherries on soft velvet. nice spice and supple tannins at the end. Medium to full body and very moreish.

With it's cherry red colour in the glass, you'll get intense black fruit aromas, blackberries and blueberries, and deeper aromas of red fruits, notes of coffee and vanilla peeking through in the back ground. On the palate, it's those black and red fruits, vanilla and mineral chalky notes (from the Tempranillo). A long long finish, slightly dry on the palate. But don't take my word for it ... Fruity, brambly and supple, this distinctly Argentinian Malbec will impress with generous lashing of plum, blackberry and hints of vanilla spice. About the winery: Bodega Sottano was founded in 1890 by Mr. Fioravante Sottano who settled in Mendoza after moving from Italy. Today the estate is a byword for quality, modern Mendoza wines that express a delicious sense of place.

On the nose, pronounced intensity, dominated by aromas of fresh red fruits (raspberry, red currant and red cherry), along with light notes of fresh black fruit (black plum). Aromas of liquorice and hints of vanilla due to its slight stay in barrel. Great intensity of fresh red fruit, which lingers for a long time on the palate, complemented by floral notes. A small family-run bodega near the village of Navarrete, in the heart of Rioja D.O.C., making wines of great integrity and some finesse. It was founded in 1918 and is today run by Antonio Navajas and his wife. This is a big favourite of many of our customers and on a 'value for money' basis it is not hard to understand why.

The nose shows dark, sour cherry. Dark berries, spiciness & herbs linger on the palate. The wine has great purity of fruit with a hint of wet-stone minerality and a velvet soft finish. Great with Game Bird with Red Wine Sauce, Beef Fillet and Pork Loin.

The small estate in the heart of Pauillac has produced this rich wine, half-and-half Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. It is full of promising tannins, blackcurrant flavours and spice from wood aging. Drink the wine from 2023.

Great entry-level Chianti Superiore with wonderful character. Carefully farmed organically and also certified. Fermented with only indigenous, wild yeasts. An intense red colour with violet reflections. The nose is nicely full and Intense - persistent, with marked notes of violets and sour cherries, wild berries and blossom. The palate is medium-bodied, very pure and direct with great Sangiovese character. Persistent, long and silky with a kick of classic Sangiovese tannin. Serving cool, with a half hour in the fridge beforehand is recommended here. Great Chianti is hard to find under £20 these days - this is a real find. The organic fruit (100% Sangiovese) is destemmed and softly crushed. During fermentation there is just a little pump over daily. After fermentation, the wine stays on skins for 15 days in steel tank. The wine is racked off and sees 9 months in cuve.

Manually harvested in mid-September from all the company's organic vineyards, the Sangiovese from Rabizza and the Lago, the Canaiolo from Vertigne and the Malvasia Nera from Tombolo. The grapes are carefully destemmed and wild fermentation takes place with the grapes natural yeasts. Fermentation takes place In thermo-conditioned steel tanks with maceration on the skins for two weeks with gentle pumping over The wine is then bred in older French oak tonneaux (large barrels) until the spring following the harvest. The wine is put to bottle and rests for a further nine months. This is a real, authentic Tuscan bargain with wonderfully characterful fruit from beautiful established vineyards blended beautifully by the master Giampaolo Chiettini. Floral, earthy, brilliant and vibrant wine. The legendary and completely wonderful Giampaolo Chiettini helps the young (very young!) Rocco (24!) and his sister Meca (25!) on their beautiful estate in DOC Valdarno di Sopra. A very exciting estate to watch at this embryonic stage.

Winemaker Larry Cherubino has crafted a delectable cool-climate Pinot from specially selected vineyards across the Yarra Valley. A quite unique expression of 100% Canaiolo from Jamu's organic vineyards. Ripening later than their Sangiovese in the latter half of September. The beautiful fruit (a selection of the very best bunches from the vineyard) is picked when perfectly ripe by hand and sorted in small crates. 100% destemmed and gently crushed, the wine is left to ferment on its wild yeasts. Macerated for two weeks with a little, very gentle pump-over daily. The wine is run off to older French tonneaux and left to rest for nine months then put to bottle for a further six months before release. Direct, long and pure wine. Some darker as well as brighter red fruits mix deliciously on a lovely savoury, fresh palate. A must try - think lamb rubbed in rosemary and salt cooked on the grill. Bright and fruity Merlot that delivers lots of enjoyment at an affordable price.

Ripe yet well controlled, I like the texture here, smooth yet supple and weighty in the mouth. Excellent concentration and juiciness in a rich way - thick blueberry and blackcurrant juice, just staying shy of being on the liqueur spectrum. Wood is apparent in the softly drying tannins and the slightly closure of the palate towards the finish but this has good potential. A bold wine, with lots going on, fully charged right now.

On the nose, notes of fresh red fruits, such as plum, cherries and strawberries with sweet notes of chocolate that reflects the 10 months the wine has spent in French oak. The wine has a rich rounded style with mouth filling Malbec fruit, and a long length to the finish. Produced from grapes grown in two different vineyards the LOS NOGALES ESTATE at an altitude of 3346 feet (1020 meters) above sea level. The grapes from this property give a special elegance to the wine with a very good balance of flavours, colour and structure, and pronounced malbec aromas. The other estate SAN PABLO is at an altitude of 4430 feet (1350 meters) above sea level and is characterized by cold nights due to the proximity of the mountains and its altitude, and the grapes here give the wine a rich intensity in colour, aroma and structure, which help to produce this premium Malbec.
