Chateau Pey La Tour
This property, ably run by the Dourthe team led by Frederic Boniface, consistently produces charming wines that have structure but can be drunk within 5 years of bottling. Virtually all Merlot there is very good handling of oak, tannins and available acidity. It would be a shame not to have some of this for everyday drinking.

Chateau Les Pins de Bossuet
The wine is rich, harmonious with nice red fruits, undergrowth and spices aromas with an excellent ageing. The color is dense with a rich bouquet of red and black fruits. The mouth is fleshy and round, with gorgeous and charming tannins and allows us to enjoy it young. Nice substance and structure for a great ageing. HISTORY The Dubost Family’s estates were created in 1957 by Paquerette and Yvon Dubost. He was the former mayor of Pomerol, so he knows its history as no one else does. His vineyards have a rich and complete range of wines. Nowadays, his son Laurent, graduated from agricultural school, runs the estate. Thanks to him and his team's hard work, he placed the wines from the Dubost estates at the fore of their appellations: Château Lafleur du Roy in Pomerol, Château les Pins de Bossuet a Bordeaux Supérieur, Château La Vallière in Lalande-de-Pomerol. Château les Pins de Bossuet was created and planted by Yvon and Pâquerette DUBOST in 1975, on exceptional parcels close to the appellations Lalande de Pomerol and Montagne Saint-Emilion. The 9 hectares are located at 70 meters of altitude, with a south west exposure, it benefits from the oceanic climate. The unique and exceptional terroir is exclusively made from gravels. The vineyard is 30 years old on average, planted with 60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc. No chemical herbicides are used in the vineyard as it is regularly tilled. Finally, in order to keep the wine quality, harvests are completely made by hand with total destemming of the bunches.

Cuvelier Los Andes
Argentinean cousins of Ch Leoville Poyferré, combining French know-how with the Argentine experience and the Mendoza terroir. Bodega Cuvelier Los Andes is one of the founding members of the Clos de Los Siete, which we also sell. A blend of 70% Malbec, 13% Syrah, 10% Petit Verdot and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark damson juiciness with a hint of dark chocolate and gentle bite of tannin on the finish, this is richly silky but keeps nicely fresh too.

Dom. des Lampyres
Francois Xavier AKA 'FX'. FX was vineyard manager for Tom Lubbe at Domaine Matassa for five years. He spent a further year with Domaine Danjou-Banessy. After such time this local lad set up in Espira to make his own wholly exciting wines. Whole bunch fermentation in stainless-steel tanks for 5 days for this beautiful Mourvedre from very old wines. On the morning of the 6th day the grapes were pressed, and the juice transferred back to stainless-steel tanks to complete fermentation. Only the naturally occurring indigenous yeasts were used in the fermentation. The wine was then aged 5 months in tank. Prior to bottling a very low dose of sulphites was added. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. Vivid, bright and wild wine.

Château Léoville Poyferré
Julia Harding MW 16/20 "Smart new labelling for the Cuvelier family of wines. 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 69% Petit Verdot. Diam 10 cork but the sort that you can get back in the bottle. First vintage of this second wine of Moulin Riche and atypical in its high percentage of Petit Verdot. Deepest cherry red. Gorgeous aroma of sweet and intense but fresh black fruit with a hint of violets. Dark and charry too but not too much so. Rich, chewy, firmly structured but overall quite voluptuous in its rich fruit. Full bodied but not heavy. Rounded, velvety tannins, or at least they seem so at first but they are very definite and give structure. Big, generous wine pulls in to a dry, refined finish."

Il Palazzone
We've shipped this wonderful 'Baby Brunello' from Il Palazzone for over a dozen years now. 100% Sangiovese from a blend of different vintages (the blend always includes some of the estates own Brunello barrels), primarily 2021. Bottled on September 6th 2022. We have shipped the wine with an extra year in bottle as we feel these bottlings hugely benefit from some time to come together and show at their best. This long time favourite offers true character and unbelievable value its price. The wine is 100% Sangiovese Grosso, known in Montalcino as Brunello - all from the estates own Brunello di Montalcino vineyards.

Domaines Philippe Porcheron
Julia Harding MW 16/20 "50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon from just four hectares of deep, gravelly soils located between the estates of Le Tertre and Monbrison. The grapes for this second wine came from 25-year-old vines and were hand-picked in very small quantities. Vinification in temperature-controlled, stainless-steel tanks, then ageing in new French oak barriques (30%), one-year-old barrels (30%) and stainless-steel vats. Winemakers Muriel Andraud and Jean-Luc Thunevin of Château Valandraud although Philippe Porcheron signs the back label. TA 3.5 g/l, pH 3.57, RS 0.3 g/l. Vegan. Natural cork. Bottle weight 420 g. Available in up to 100 shops. Lively deep crimson. Polished texture and real richness. Hints of Margaux silkiness though it’s a bit punchier than that. Proper bordeaux with quite a long finish but just a little bitterness on the end."

Domaine Remi Jeanniard
Remi Jeanniard’s neighbours say that he and his wife are always in the vineyards; even on 2nd January, they were seen out pruning the vines. Remi has just over 7 hectares of vines in and around Morey-St-Denis. The vines are much older than average, with all of his Vieilles Vignes village bottlings being at least 50 years old. This gives a natural concentration to the wines which are both well structured and elegant. Dried fruits, figs, cherries, currants, and violets. Exciting. Less plush than the jeunes vignes, but more vibrant and intense. Supple tannins.

Guaspari
This Syrah takes inspiration from wines of the Northern Rhone with its full-bodied, savoury-sweet and complex style. Ruby coloured, it leads with a floral perfume of rosemary, red fruits and other violets. Intense on the palate, expect mixed berries, black plum, leather hide and smooth, creamy tannins. The finish adds a touch of pepper spice.

Bodega Classica
Elegant and round. It is well balanced with a velvety attack followed by a pleasant acidity and a silky and full-bodied aftertaste resulting from its noble and ripe tannin. Its long aftertaste has spicy and balsamic hints, resulting from its long and peaceful ageing, as well as confit fruit nuances that uncover its personality.

Domaine des Soulanes
100% old vine Carignan that was bred all in concrete tanks. Notes of leather, black cherries, plums and savoury herbs all emerge from this medium-bodied, fresh, lively wine. This is seamless and gorgeous stuff from Daniel Laffite. It would cost twice the price if it was from Priorat.

La Reserve Saint Dominique - Eric Bonnet
We've found another Syrah-led, Southern Rhone wine that astounds with its interest and punches way above its price tag. From Drink Rhone: 80% Syrah (1982-1990s-1997), 20-25% Grenache (1960s-1985-86) from 3 hectares on very stony clay-limestone soils on lightly north facing slope on Bois Lauzon with Champovin (Orange). Destemmed, 4 week steel vat vinification at up to 28°C, daily pumping overs, cap punching, half the Syrah aged new (33%)-4 year 600-litre oak casks, Grenache & half the Syrah vat raised 12 months. Certified organic wine, **** for the 2022 from John Livingstone-Learnmonth on Drink Rhone "Dark red; the nose has an earthy intensity, a brewed blue and black fruits air. The palate carries appealing, gourmand dark berry fruits, prune flavouring, extends into a spiced corridor late on, notes of tea leaves and mineral there. It gives a well filled Côtes that lasts well, digs in, has interest". From mid-2024. to 2030-31. Tasted Oct 2023

La Reserve Saint Dominique - Eric Bonnet
Wow. Not only do this fabulous Domaine have a world-class, ancient vine Grenache Noir from one of the named terroirs for the cepage in Chateauneuf du Pape at the pinnacle of its range, Dominique also have the 'Grenache Vieilles Vignes 2023 La Reserve Saint Dominique' at the entry point - talk about dreams coming true for Grenache lovers such as us at CWM! This cuvee wowed our senior buyer initially, and later when presented to the team at a staff forum - jaws hit the floor once again. Beautiful 100% Grenache from a single clay and gravel-marked vineyard of only 0.95ha planted in 1966 on the plain. The vineyard is presently in conversion to 'Organic'. Whatever Eric Bonnet is doing in the vineyard, you can certainly feel the magic in the glass! Glorious lift of red fruit with a touch of dark cherry - the wine is floral and pleasing. The glorious mouth has similar styled fruit keeping things focused, pure, varietal and interesting with its lovely weight, mineral focus and outstanding length. What utter class as this price point. One to fill your boots with and enjoy this spring when the flowers are beginning to bloom. A real treat. Grenache heaven. Oh, and it’s not only us here at CWM who think so: "The Réserve Saint-Dominique Grenache Vieilles Vignes 2023 has been awarded a rating of two stars, which corresponds to an 'Outstanding Wine'". This wine was rated such in the 2025 edition of the Guide Hachette. Certainly a weighty accolade for a wine at this price.

Rustenberg
The John X Merriman is a powerful wine that rewards aging. In its youth the wine is worth decanting and expresses cassis, black currant and dark fruits complemented with cigar tobacco and sour cherrynotes. As the wine ages and its fine grained tannins soften a softer more savoury palate develops revealing wonderful drinkability and tertiary complexity.
