The nose is refined and aromatic, with aromas of white peach and citrus fruits and a touch of minerality. The palate is fruity and crunchy with great length. A well balanced wine, between roundness and freshness. Tamlyn Currin for jancisrobinson.com "Peaches and cherry blossom, soft but firm acidity, and lovely texture - like daisy petals. Quinta da Fonte Souto
"There's a fleshy minerality in this dark-salmon Aragonez (Tempranillo), evocative of the schist escarpments of the mountains of S?o Mamede. Lovely concentration of pomegranate, strawberries and cherry fruit, with fennel adding a herbal outline. Great tension throughout, with subtle tannic pull and fleshy pithiness building a solid structure. Lingering flavours of pomegranate juice, cranberry, orange peel and pink grapefruit." 92/100 Decanter

Basket Range
Pinot Noir from our vineyard (40%) and Syrah from the Deanery vineyard (60%). Both parcels were direct-pressed, settled and racked to seasoned French oak hogsheads for fermentation with 7 months maturation on lees. The wine underwent full MLF, creating a rosé with complexity and mid-palate texture, in a year which leaned towards lighter-bodied wines. Mike Bennie on The Wine Front: "From syrah and Pinot Noir, the duo matured and fermented in barrels. Lovely Shotlo Broderick on the tiller. It’s a grippy, dry rosé leaning into rose hip tea territory and splashing around a little bitter-sweet and dry cranberry drink too. Scents like that, flavours like that, spreads wide in the palate and tightens on a spread of light, terracotta tannin. A dash of woody spice emerges too. It’s very easy to like, its got depth and interest on its side". Rated 92/100 Tasted September 2024 Alcohol 11.4% Drink 2024 - 2027 "2023 was such a protracted vintage - something more of the 80s than most these days being warmer and earlier. They are really starting to show nicely now - longer ripening windows giving more phenological ripeness rather than the royal fruit forward style of warmer vintages". Sholto Broderick

Chateau Saint Pierre
Elegant and pale in colour with tinges of salmon. Powerful on the nose. Aromas of white peach and spice evolve into apricot jam, guava and exotic fruit. Full in the mouth. A wine rich in character with good persistence of flavours.

Hacienda Lopez De Haro
97/100 Decanter "Over the past decade, Bodega Hacienda López de Haro has become one of Rioja’s rising stars, a producer capable of making both consistently high-quality, high-volume brands and smaller-scale ‘artisanal’ bottlings such as this Gran Reserva Rosado. It’s a blend of 60% Viura and 40% Garnacha, macerated for 24-48 hours before fermentation in stainless steel. The wine was then matured for four years in French and Eastern European oak barriques, mostly new. It spent a further five years in bottle before release. David Williams: Complex interplay of polished wood, cherry and rosehip, and macadamia nuts, a touch of sweet green olive and fennel, baked strawberry: just fascinating. Very savoury and satisfying, with lovely glide and a silky texture. Matthew Forster MW: Brick red, attenuated colour, firm savoury oak aromas. Concentrated stewed plum fruit, with rose petal and caramel on the finish. Very complete. Diana Rollan: Intense and complex, oxidative style. Notes of dried cranberry, orange zest and sandalwood. Textured, elegant and vibrant, with a subtle saline finish. Superb." Julia Harding on jancisrobinson.com 17.5/20 "Deep coppery pink. Aromas as dramatic as the colour: rich notes of orange-skinned plums and spiced apricots (though no impression of sweetness). A touch of dried grasses. In the mouth, this is fabulous, especially for the price. Mouth-wateringly fresh, layers and layers of flavour and just the right amount of tannic structure (more than I expected, perhaps more from the oak than from the maceration) for the wine to continue to age well, though it is delicious now. Firm, persistent and a style it is hard to find outside Rioja. Great length. A wine to savour at the table. VGV".

Domaine Gayda
Pale colour with aromas of strawberries and cream. Summer fruits, fresh lively style with crisp acidity, creaminess and a well balanced finish. The Flying Solo range flies in the face of convention, shunning international varieties in favour of the typical Mediterranean Grenache grape which forms its backbone, blended Cinsault. It celebrates the intrepid ‘Aéropostale’ pilots who risked life and limb to ensure postal deliveries in the 1920s

Domaine Ott
The wine reveals a beautiful peach hue, reminiscent of rose gold. The nose is enveloping with aromas of candied citrus, evolving towards lemon verbena leaves. On the palate, the wine is clean and reveals notes of red fruits-strawberries and raspberries. The mid-palate is tight, fresh and very harmonious. The wine is delicious, right up to the finely balanced finish, perfumed with a hint of pomelo. Domaines Ott was founded in 1912 by Marcel Ott, an agricultural engineer from Alsace who dreamed of establishing a great wine estate near the Mediterranean. Today, the wineries are owned and managed by Champagne Louis Roederer and produce some of the world’s most prestigious wines, but particularly rosé wines, made at distinctively different estates in Bandol and Côtes de Provence appellations.

Domaine Gayda
‘La Minuette’ blended rosé comes from La Livinière limestone terroir. Its pale colour and floral bouquet represent the ‘Minuette’ variety of rose planted in Kenya by Tim Ford in 1982, during his 25 years of rose production in Africa. A nod to both the past and the future, ‘La Minuette’ exemplifies estate values of tradition and modernity. Mourvèdre, Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault from outstanding organic Minervois La Livinière vineyards. A lychee-tinged colour evokes a very Provençal style. On the nose, finesse and elegance dominate, offering a refined aromatic bouquet. Notes of fresh grapefruit and tart raspberries blend harmoniously with vine peach, while cherry blossom adds a delicate floral touch. On the palate, the wine is gourmand, with flavours of strawberry and raspberry supported by fresh notes of clementine and bergamot zest. The texture is crisp and tangy, balanced by a light minerality on the finish. Really outstanding for the cash.

Victoria Moore " Crisp and fresh with a bit of sinew and a sublte twist of bitter orange and orange flower water alongside the notes of white peach. This is quite a mineral rose and beautiful with food."
