Acustic Celler
100% Grenache, from 40-80 years old vines. The wine fermented in barrels for 6 months and the result is a deep-flavoured but elegant and fresh rosé with a bright pink in the robe and inviting aromas of pure raspberries, cassis, and some rose petals. On the palate it is more profound and serious, due to the partial aging in oak. A lot more substance than your usual rosé.

Savage
Duncan Savage matriculated at Rondebosch Boys High School in 1995. In 2016. Savage Wines was set up in the heart of Cape Town in Salt River. Vineyards for his wines are leased and grapes sourced from around the Western Cape, maritime in nature where possible. Granitic soil is the focus. Sourced from a wind-exposed site in Polkadraai on granitic soils, this blend spends two years aging—first in old 500-liter barrels and then in foudres and conical tanks. The bouquet expresses brambly red fruit and light tertiary scents, while the medium-bodied palate offers a pliant entry, with white pepper and fennel spices lifting the finish. A sophisticated, harmonious wine of wonder. 94/100 Vinous Neil Martin

Acustic Celler
Old vine Garnacha and Carinena planted as long ago as 1930. Concentrated, dense and pure black fruit in the palate. This Montsant has character. It is lively and fresh. Lots of quality aromas such as pencil lead, graphite and charcoal. The concentration does not compete with the gentle and expressive fruit. Acústic Negre is the flagship wine of Acústic Celler, founded by winemaker Albert Jané. The estate's philosophy is to produce "acoustic" wines-authentic expressions of old-vine, indigenous varieties with minimal intervention. The 2022 vintage is crafted from old-vine Garnatxa (Grenache) and Carinyena (Carignan) sourced from 35-65-year-old vineyards on poor, stony soils at 300-700 metres above sea level. The wine is aged for 10 months in fine-grained French oak barrels, adding complexity while preserving fruit purity.

Cascina Vano
A beautiful Langhe Nebbiolo that is 'Pinot-like' in style from this most exciting of winegrowers in Neive, now headed up by brother and sister duo Beatrice and Marco Rivetti. We have followed Cascina Vano with such excitement and are very happy to be now adding them to our Piedmont portfolio. The 2024 sees grapes from three different estate vineyards. Half of the blend is from a vineyard (located in the middle of a hazelnut grove) in Neviglie, a tiny village in Alta Langa at higher altitude (400-450m), and with a different microclimate than Neive (a lot more wind along with cooler temperatures). This site gives the wine its lifted, floral and fresh characters and fine acids. 30% of the blend comes from younger vines in the Rivetti MGA, where there is solid compact red clay together with the Sant'Agata marls, these provide characterful structure and tannins in the wine. Finally, 20% from a vineyard in the Basarin MGA. A young vineyard of six years that is beautifully exposed over Rabaja MGA. Here we have a sandy red soil of laminated marls. This site brings a lot of pure, juicy, fruity notes - beautiful cherry and wild strawberry. The blend of the above three sites all adds up to a vibrant, brilliant and true take on Langhe Nebbiolo. Simply amazing aromatics - sweet and pure red fruit, but floral - rosehip and violet and old school dustiness. The palate is SO full of tart red berries - crunchy, crunchy cherry, and a hint of blood orange. A clean, savoury minerality and a touch of earthiness/goodness. So drinkable, but so spiky with amazing acid/tannin intensity whilst remaining drinkable, complex and so, so lovely. Again, a beautiful style of Langhe Nebbiolo that is simply so right for this spring and summer.

Domaine D'ourea
Wow. A literal "Wow". We were completely knocked out with this cuvee upon discovery back in January 2023, at an organic wine fair in Southern France. Across from d'Ourea's stand was the stand of one of our longest and most successful producers who too makes a similar style of lifted, elegant Grenache. I passed him a glass of d'Ourea's Vacqueyras to which the winemaker put under his nose, "Wow". He continued "This is beautiful, the perfect balance in the aromatics of Grenache, a lovely use of whole-bunch". "The stems (of the grape bunches) are the most beautiful part of the grape - they bring freshness and aromas of garrigue, herbs, and complexity to the wine". Adrien Roustan, Vigneron at d'Ourea An outstanding Vacqueyras from a selection of Adrien's finest terroir. Being a blend of "Hautes Garrigues" (a red clay gravel) and "Pendants" (a blue and yellow marl). Each terroir brings its original personality. The "Garrigues" finesse and minerality. The "Pendants" the power and depth. Vineyards planted in 1950. "The Grenache here is at the northern end of its ripening range, and that means its wines have finesse and elegance". We could not agree more. A truly charming wine and a real "Wow".

Domaine Danjou-Banessy
Natural, biodynamic and vegan. Grenache, Carignan and Mourvedre from 80 year old vines, Made without filtering or fining. Pale but gorgeous mid red colour. At first on the nose, you are like "What even is that?". Whatever it is, you know that you like it. Elegant, subtle fruit is intermixed with gentle herb, earth and savoury characters. Deep and wonderful. On the palate the wine is elegant and deep again, but not heavy in the slightest. Ruffled fruit and savoury notes with minerality and real finesse. These wines are like no other from the Roussillon. Outstanding.

Domaine D'ourea
Old vines from the Grand Montmirail, high altitude vineyards (400 to 520 meters). The foot of the vineyards consist of a red marl that brings the muscle and virility. In middle and higher slopes limestone bedrock is increasingly present, this transmits the wines tension and raciness. Direct, pure wines. 100% Grenache in 2023. 70% grapes destemmed, crushed and a short infusion follows. Wildly fermented and only matured in concrete tank to expose the complexity and natural tension of the wine. This is a full, broad wine, but elegant and still vibrating. The originality and beauty of the site is transmitted with energy. This Gigondas shows you this character, this minerality - water of rock, wine of rock.

Cascina Vano
A wonderful Moscato d'Asti DOCG here from Beatrice and Marco at Cascina Vano. Not that the wine is marketed as such, but it is 100% from a single, old-vine vineyard that was 'brought' into the family's holdings when Beatrice and Marco's Grandmother married into the family Rivetti. The old-vine vineyard is in the heart of the Santo Stefano Belbo region where her family originate - the heart and soul of real Moscato d'Asti production. Floral, fresh, honeyed and beautifully balanced. Elderflower leads into orange blossom, lavender, honey, melon, peach, pink grapefruit and a gentle, gentle fizz dazzle you into submission. Serious quality here for the price. The style of "Alla Maestra" is really traditional, Beatrice and Marco's Grandmother's family and many generations before had been using the 'bag method' or 'bag filter' to make the Moscato in Valdivilla (hamlet of Santo Stefano Belbo). Valdivilla (along with Santo Stefano Belbo, Calosso, Mango and Camo) is considered to be the original heartland of Moscato production in the region. Beatrice and Marco's idea is to keep the tradition of the style of these wines even if they are no longer using the bag method. Pressure reached in the juice whilst fermentation is halted at 5.5% abv is 1.2 bar. They are keeping real freshness in the wine with a nice acidity and only a delicate 'perlage' (fizz) in amongst the sweet honey notes and all manner of fruits and flowers. Beatrice & Marco also feel this style opens up more options at the table - including savoury and umami matches as well as the classic fruit and sweet dishes. The Grandmother was known as a beloved teacher to many in this area and surrounding villages, hence the dedicated name "Alla Maestra" meaning "For the teacher". It seems in the case of this Moscato, Marco & Beatrice are our teachers too. Teachers of this wonderful, traditional style of Moscato d'Asti. Enjoy the lesson.

Cascina Vano
A beautiful Barbaresco from this most exciting of Domaine's in Nieve, now headed up by brother and sister duo Beatrice and Marco Rivetti. We are very happy to be now adding them to our Piedmont portfolio. The 'Classico' label at Cascina Vano makes a very welcome return in the incredible 2021 vintage after being rested since the 1990 version. I mean, this is immense for the price considering Piemonte prices these days - where most new growers Langhe Nebbiolo are hitting the shelves around the £40 mark. Here we have three established (all vines 30yrs plus) estate vineyards, a south-east facing site in Canova MGA and a small south-east facing parcel near the top of the crest of Rivetti MGA and a slightly larger south-west facing parcel the other side of the hill finishing just above Borgata Rivetti. So, an interesting blend of very good vineyards in an as mentioned incredible vintage that is poised, direct, elegant and shining bright at well under forty quid - aren't we lucky? The vineyard sites average an elevation of 380m. In 2021 the grapes were harvested by hand in very late September into the first week of October. After destemming and a soft crushing, a natural fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The wine is macerated on skins for 15 days. It is then run to 20 and 30hl Slavonian oak barrels for 24 months, with one decanting and racking per year. The wine is then put to bottle for at least six months. We've shipped these bottles a further two years down the line and the wine is in beautiful shape. A beautiful garnet colour with hints of burgundy and ruby. The nose is delicate and floral with lovely rose notes along with some mint and balsamic. The palate is classic and elegant with gorgeous pure fruit, beautiful acid, divine tannins and some spice and herbal notes on the charming long finish. Simply a great example to convince those of the beauty and value of Barbaresco wines.

Ridge have made this Zinfandel every year for fifty-six years. Consistency of quality and vineyard character are its hallmarks. Domaine D'ourea
100% Syrah. Aged for 14 months in concrete tanks. Certified organic (AB Agriculture Biologique). "Tasted blind. Liquorice and raspberry aromas. A juicy palate packed full of fruit. Firm but fine tannins give a broad structure and then a note of earthiness - black pepper, olives and liquorice come through. Plenty of zip and vibrancy throughout the palate". 16/20 Alistair Cooper on jancisrobinson.com "Gorgeously spicy style of Syrah, with some bay leaf and fresh herb nuances. It's fairly full-bodied and decidedly grippy, with quite fibrous, rugged tannins that will take time to settle down. A floral finish, like violets, with a touch of blueberry and smoke. This will gain further complexity with time. Pure whole-bunch Syrah grown on red clay with limestone fragments. Aged for 14 months in concrete tanks". 95/100 Matt Walls in Decanter Magazine Drinking Window: 2027 - 2035

Cascina Vano
An utterly outstanding Riserva Barbaresco from this most exciting of Domaine's in Nieve, now headed up by brother and sister duo Beatrice and Marco Rivetti. We have followed this Domaine with such excitement and are very happy to be now adding them to our Piedmont portfolio. Rivetti is a small MGA in the north-west of Barbaresco DOCG. The family's vineyard there is one of their most beautiful. The vineyard is exposed to the south-east and south-west, as it rides over the highest ridge. The elevation here is 350m and the soils are clay. The vines used in the Riserva are always the vineyards oldest, at forty years plus in age. In 2021 the grapes were hand harvested in the second week of October at perfect maturity in this great season. After destemming the grapes were softly crushed and natural fermentation started in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures between 25-28 degrees. Maceration on skins for three weeks with racking and returning the juice over the must twice a day to perfectly extract from this great harvest. The wine is then put to 20 and 30hl Slavonian oak barrels for three years. Then stored in bottle for at least ten months before release. This is the fourth release since the debut 2015 (2016 and 2019 released also). It is outstanding, really putting Rivetti MGA on the map like never before. In the glass the colour is quite a deep ruby red with orange hues. The nose is a real "Wow!" being both ethereal and intense. The palate is deeply flavoured and beautifully proportioned. It really is only just starting to reveal itself. If drinking now, you need a decanter, a large glass and a very good friend to share it with. We believe the wine shall really start coming into its own in 2030 and drink until 2050++. Bravo Beatrice & Marco and the family Rivetti.

Domaine Danjou-Banessy
A blend of Genache Blanc, Gris and Noir, from ancient 90 year old vines in the ancient and quite amazing 'C|os des Escounils' that the brothers are developing and working on re-establishing it's other potential vineyard areas. This is beautiful, racy, elegant wine that is softly textured and very ‘modern’ in its freshness and balance.

The 2023 Estate Chardonnay, sampled twice from tank, shows exquisite balance. It has impressive breadth and power, but no sense of heaviness, thanks to its purity of flavour and the little touch of smoky reduction that provides a burgundy-esque lift.

Petite Sirah is most frequently a complementary variety to Zinfandel in traditional field blends. At Lytton Estate, since 1992, we have made it as a standalone wine. Here, in the loamy-clay soils, it thrives, producing compact clusters of very small, concentrated berries. True to the nature of this grape, the 2023 is deeply coloured, concentrated and capable of ageing for at least ten years.
