There are many delightul Northern Rhone whites from 2025 and this is very much one of them. Performing very well in Crozes-Hermitage tastings in both Terres des Vins and La Revue du vin de France, well up amongst the big boys and girls of the appellation. 70% Marsanne, 30% Roussanne - half from loess soils on l'Homme at Larnage, half from loess soils on Les Pinets at Crozes-Hermitage. 90% steel vat, 10% new 600-litre oak cask fermented, raised 9 months, assembled just before bottling, malo completed.

For four years now he has been employed by a family winery based in Maury - Clos des Vins d'Amour. Who work 25 hectares organically in the west of Roussillon. Mostly in commercial activities, but also working in the cellar. Alongside this, in 2016, Vincent started a new project - Domaine Odyssée. The 3.5ha of vineyards are in Calce and Baixas, in a heart of Roussillon. The sites are small, but unquestionably some of the most beautiful we have seen. Vincent draws on the experiences mentioned above and his time in New Zealand (2011), Argentina (2012) and Bordeaux 2011 to help fully realise what he has there in his exceptional terroir. Vincent works organically, using no weedkillers, no chemical products. He works by hand and with organic fertilizer (he is in conversion right now). He harvests his parcels by himself with friends and family. In the cellar, Vincent’s philosophy is a minimum of intervention "To keep the fruit and the terroir.". The wines are extracted gently with just a little pump over. No filtration, no fining. The only preservative is a little dose of sulphites in very low quantities at bottling "It is important for me the stabilise the wine in respect of the future customers".

A wine from an amazing single site with vines older than 90 years. Carignan on black schistous marl. Aged for 20 months in barrels. Possibly Roussillon's most elegant expression of the grape? Outstanding wine.

Vincent Carreras’ first Rosé produced at the Domaine. A blend of Grenache, Syrah and the press juice of his Macabeu. All put to demi-muid and producing only 571 bottles. 84 bottles for the UK. A brilliant tale of luminous and bright fruits that are incredibly invigorating along with some gorgeous textural, darker and more serious elements. A quality effort that is the star of summer 2026.

Dom. Chan Chan - Vins d'Altitude. A new-generation wine estate crafting refined, high-end wines from organically farmed, high-altitude vineyards on granite soils in the Roussillon. The estate is headed up by Manuel Hebrard & Mathieu Tiché who have previously spent time with our friends Danjou-Banessy, Gilles Troullier and Leah Angles to gain invaluable experience to help enable them work as well as they can in their breath-taking vineyards. Wow-wee. What an unusual but utterly remarkable treat. 100% Syrah grown on high altitude granite. Two thirds picked for "Rosé" and directly pressed, the remaining third picked a little later and put to a 48h cold-soak when fermentation is underway on the first pick and then the later juice is added. This produces wonderful lifted aromas but little tannin and a quite extraordinary colour for the cepage. A wine of great energy and interest that happens to be utterly delicious. Bravo Chan Chan!

A blend of Genache Blanc, Gris and Noir, from ancient 90 year old vines in the ancient and quite amazing 'C|os des Escounils' that the brothers are developing and working on re-establishing it's other potential vineyard areas. This is beautiful, racy, elegant wine that is softly textured and very ‘modern’ in its freshness and balance.

Lazzer. WHAT a wine. 100% Lledoner Pelut - a rare, indigenous grape variety and a cousin of Grenache Noir, AKA "hairy Grenache" - the word 'pelut' means hairy in Catalan. The variety gets this moniker due to its furry leaves and buds. It's grown on beautiful granite soils at an altitude of 500m, overlooking the Vallée du Têt facing Mount Canigou. Aged for 18 months in small sandstone eggs and fourth-use demi-muid barrels. The nose is dominated by dried herbs & earthy notes, perfectly encapsulating the rustic terroir of this commune. These are succeeded by aromas of strawberry & rhubarb. The experience is inverted on the palate, fresh cherries & strawberries dissipate into a savoury & herbaceous finish. Grippy tannins pair with juicy acidity to support the wine harmoniously, giving the wine a liveliness with a supple, velvety texture. Our favourite and arguably the estate’s finest cuvée; the altitude, granite soils and breeding help give this wine such lift, focus, concentration and freshness. Absolutely unique and quite outstanding. Unfiltered, unfined - Natural wine - Total SO2 < 30mg/L

Old vine Grenache grown on decomposed black schist with a limestone sub soil with some quartz, that produces something amazing. Ethereal, sublime and fresh, this achieves a level of finesse akin to fine red Burgundy. Remarkable, special, very good indeed.

A Pinot-dominated special edition from our old friends Autreau, a family firm since 1670 in Premier Cru village of Champillon just north of Epernay

Energy is a word used a lot by the finest Roussillon growers. We don't think there has been a finer example than this extraordinary wine from the freres Danjou. The 2020 is more 'Cote-Rotie' than the 'Crozes like' 2018. A thrilling wine.

Catriona Felstead MW The 2012 is a blend of 70% Tempranillo and 20% Garnacho with the remaining 10% a mix of Graciano and Mazuelo. The wine was aged in barrel for 6 years, being racked twice per year and fined with fresh egg whites. Overall, the wine has spent 10 years maturing in the perfect, cool conditions of López de Heredia’s incredible underground cellars and was bottled in January 2022. Tasting Notes The nose of the 2012 Tondonia Tinto Reserva is gloriously open, perfumed and fine. Gentle aromas of jamón and cured leather mingle with subtle notes of raspberry tea and a touch of musky, cedar spice. A sweet red cherry compote top note comes through but, above all, this is remarkably scented, floral and mineral-pure Tondonia. The palate is incredibly fresh with well-defined red fruit and a vibrating hint of orange zest at the back. This is a more accessible and less dense style than the previous two vintages but that is more than compensated for by its superb poise and sense of energy. Reminiscent of the lovely 2009 in its charm, the wine dances on the palate towards the focused, pure finish. Delicious. Drink 2024 (decanted) to 2042. The Burnt House Bacchus 2025 has aromas of elderflower, bursting with green apple, lemon drops and herbaceous notes on the palate.

Intense ruby colour with red berry fruit on the nose, along with spicy notes and hints of figs, menthol and eucalyptyus. These lifted flavours continue to the palate and are backed up by smooth integrated tannins and fresh acidity to crteate a long finish. El Porvenir specialise in Torrontes, Malbec, Tannat and red blends from 45-50 year old vineyards which are amongst the highest in the world at 1900m asl and peopled with 20-foot, 200 year old monster cacti. Colour in the reds here is profound due to the exposure to prolonged mountain sunlight, with soft tannins due in part to the extreme diurnal temperature differences. Winemaker Mariano Quiroga Adamo is one of Argentina’s brightest young winemakers and El Porvenir benefits from the sage involvement of renowned winemaker Paul Hobbs, who has been involved here for many years. The company is run by the energetic Lucia Romero-Marcuzzi and the packaging and labels reflect the Inca Cross which is a common symbol in this part of the Andes.

Bursting with cherry, plum and redcurrant on the palate, with smoky oak notes and warm earthy undertones. Soft tannins make this Pinot Noir a versatile food pairing option.

This traditional method English sparkling Rose is soft blush in colour with fine elegant bubbles. The nose is filled with summer fruits while on the palate the wine shows strawberries and cream with a freshness that captures the essence of an English summer.

Notes of cherry and raspberry, with a sniff of garrigue. A delightful mouthfeel with silky tannins and notes of black fruits and spices, ending with a tangy finish and a good length. Beautiful Syrah and Carignan from the Roussillon grown on gneiss. The Syrah was destemmed and fermented then raised in 5yo oak barrels, The Carignan was fermented whole bunch then raised in stainless steel to preserve it brilliant brightness. A great En Passant.

Domaine René Bouvier is widely regarded as one of the producers that has transformed the reputation of Marsannay from an overlooked appellation into one of Burgundy's most exciting sources of Pinot Noir. "En Ouzeloy" is a single-vineyard Pinot Noir from one of the lesser-known but highly regarded lieux-dits of Marsannay, at the northern end of Burgundy's Côte de Nuits. We recommend drinking this wine during its dynamic first 5 years, but it can be kept for longer. It may be necessary to decant certain vintages in their first few years. Depending on the vintage, the estate uses 50% whole-bunch fermentation. The wine is aged for about 12 months in barrels (with 15% of new barrels) and 6 months in stainless steel tanks. Bright ruby in colour, with expressive aromas of red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, layered with hints of violet, liquorice, gentle spice and flinty minerality. The palate is elegant and finely structured, offering vibrant acidity, silky tannins and impressive purity of fruit. A subtle earthy complexity emerges with time in the glass, leading to a long, fresh finish that reflects the limestone soils of Marsannay.

Escaravailles rare top end white we are very lucky to see an allocation of. Even with a hot, short vintage Madeline has produced a very fine, elegant, juicy long and fine Rhone wine. Domaine des Escaravailles is a highly regarded family estate based in Rasteau, named after the Occitan word for the scarab beetle (the symbol on their labels). The Ferran family farms organically, with vineyards on the elevated hills around Rasteau. The altitude helps to provide cooler night time temperatures and breezes that help give the wines their elegance. 'La Galopine' comes from small parcels around the estate at around 400m altitude, on marl soils in the Combe de l’Eoune area. The grapes are hand harvested, sorted, and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in a combination of amphora, French oak barrels and demi-muids, giving texture while preserving freshness. There is currently no permitted white wine in the Rasteau appellation, so the white wines carry the Cotes du Rhone appellation instead. This is an injustuice that will be remedied soon, as the white wines of Rasteau can be sensational.
