Allegrini
The controlled drying (appassimento) of the harvested grapes, which lasts for a about one hundred days, brings with it the great aromatic intensity of dark fruit and undergrowth, together with spicy and tobacco notes. The impact on the palate is powerful and vigorous, with the wine gradually tapering on the acidic and savoury momentum, extending gently with a clean, dry finish.

Villa Sandi
Villa Sandi is a beautiful Palladian style villa which dates back to 1622 and lies in the heart of Treviso, at the bottom of the foot of the Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG hills. This wine is fruity and flowery with delicate aromatic and citrus hints. Fresh and lively in the mouth. Light bodied and elegant with an agreeably aromatic and fruit persistence. An excellent aperitif to accompany savouries. Ideal with steamed shellfish.

La Giuva
The young, dynamic duo of Giulia and Valentina Malesani (hence the name `Giuva`) are situated north of Verona in the Val Squaranto. Planted at about 300m, the vines surprisingly face north and west, giving the wines incredible freshness and crunchy red fruits. This has flamboyant jammy notes on the nose, then great structure on the palate with expressive, juicy berries and ripe cherries. It`s meaty and earthy, with spicy and jammy undertones. 95 points

Nani Rizzi
One of the best Prosecco producers, as voted for by the brotherhood of Prosecco growers at their annual taste off and charity auction. Forget the mass produced stuff, this is what made Prosecco famous in the first place.

Cielo e Terra
Amarone is made by allowing the grapes to partially dry and shrivel for up to 120 days, usually on straw mats. (This process is called appassimento or rasinate (to dry and shrivel) in Italian). This concentrates the remaining sugars and flavours, giving a rich and deep wine, with intense red fruits and a juicy palate. Some oak ageing increases structure and imparts subtle warmth and body.

Allegrini
This wine is ruby red in colour, with youthful highlights. On the nose, fragrant fruit with prominent notes of dark cherries and fresher hints of pepper and aromatic herbs, typical of Corvina and Corvinone, the historic varieties of this appellation. This Valpolicella is impressively lively and playful on the palate, whilst exhibiting delicacy and finesse at the same time.

Contarini
A slightly off dry sparkling wine made from white grapes including Glera the grape variety of Prosecco. Made by our main prosecco producer you'd be hard pressed to notice the difference in a blind tasting, but you will notice the price difference! Great value.

Sopra Sasso
Classic Valpolicella grapes of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella made using the ancient part-dried grape technique to achieve fuller body and smoother tannins. Lush like Amarone but bright, vital and snappy like Valpolicella, indeed it has that classic capsicum brightness. Heavy embossed bottles, looks great. Metro Magazine Top 50 Wines of 2019. Bob Campbell MW 4 stars recommended

Allegrini
Long-standing single-vineyard classic from the outstanding Allegrini family. I've always loved this wine. Somewhat like a 'deployable' version of Amarone, but so much more interesting than most Ripasso. Plays a sexy line between juicy silky, lush and chewy tannin and oak. Intriguing notes of blossom and ripe citrus fruits.

Sopra Sasso
Classic Valpol Ripasso - think dark chocolate laced with cherry brandy! Deft, silky, not over-extracted. Lovely Corvina edge of petals and almond. Earthy leathery notes, somewhat like Otago Pinot in flavour

Cantina di Negrar
The Ripasso method beefs up the sometimes weedy Valpolicella by the addtion of Amarone lees which starts a second fermentation and adds body. With complex red fruit aromas, this well balanced full-bodied wine is velvety smooth with harmonious tannins

Proverbio
PRO for Prosecco, VER for Vero (Truly in Italian) BIO for Biologico (Organic). The palate is soft and fresh, offering zippy acidity and a complex array of primary fruit flavours, including peach, pear and apricot. This is enjoyable on its own as an aperitif but also pairs wonderfully with oriental cuisine. All vineyards are situated on gentle hillside slopes in the Treviso province, at an altitude of 250 metres above sea level. The grapes are carefully handpicked in mid-late September when they have reached full maturity, but still retain a high acidity level, giving the freshness and fruitiness typical of Prosecco.

Biscardo
Corvinone, Corvina, and cab sauv blend from the Veneto region. Nose of rose petal, black fruit, bit jammy with some pepper there. Palate is full bodied, full tannin, medium acid with a grippy Velcro style tannin. Lots of black fruit namely blackberry and berry compote, leather, subtle cocoa, red apple skin giving acidity and structure and a nice minerality strewn throughout. Dry with a medium+ finish. Great value for a baby Amarone.

Baccolo
New wine laws from the 2020 vintage prohibit the use of the Appassimento (partial drying) technique for white grapes from Veneto, so sourcing of the Garganega for this lovely wine has moved to Puglia. The blend of Garganega & Sauvignon remains the same, with Sauvignon Blanc still coming from Veneto. Partial maceration with dried grapes and cold fermentation enhances fruitiness and elegant aromatic notes. The change has resulted in even better wine, that's perfect as an aperitif, with delicate first courses or white meats and fish. Vegan.

All the fun of Pinot Grigio plus a lovely rose-petal scent. Smells sweet, but actually totally dry. Great aperitif.
