Marcello Pelleriti
James Suckling 94 Points A top blend from Marcello here. His wines are all natural, and we are delighted to have them back after an absence of a couple of years. This blend is produced from handpicked grapes which underwent a micro fermentation with natural yeasts prior to being aged in oak for 20 months. This is a seriously good wine, more savoury and elegant than fruit driven, with noticeable vanilla on the finish.

Sottano
This is the estate's entry level Malbec and it is absolutely delicious. Ripe fruit without being jammy, there is a lots of black cherry and plum aroma with a touch of spice. Easy-going palate with mouth-filling fruit, elegant tannins and velvety mouthfeel. Very easy to drink but satisfying with BBQ or steak. Bodega Sottano was founded in 1890 by Mr. Fioravante Sottano who settled in Mendoza after moving from Italy. Today the estate is a byword for quality, modern Mendoza wines that express a delicious sense of place.

Cuvelier Los Andes
Argentinean cousins of Ch Leoville Poyferré, combining French know-how with the Argentine experience and the Mendoza terroir. Bodega Cuvelier Los Andes is one of the founding members of the Clos de Los Siete, which we also sell. A blend of 70% Malbec, 13% Syrah, 10% Petit Verdot and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark damson juiciness with a hint of dark chocolate and gentle bite of tannin on the finish, this is richly silky but keeps nicely fresh too.

From a single vineyard from the San Pablo Estate, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina - one of the coolest climate Uco Valley sub regions. . "This wine has a deep ruby red color and complex aromas, characteristic of violets, raspberries, wild mint and spicy notes. Medium-bodied with remarkable elegance and balance, leading to delicately sweet and subtle tannins". Tim Atkin 92/100 This wine was also the OUTRIGHT WINNER in Decanter Magazine's vast "American Cabernet Franc" feature and tasting in September 2023. The wine was the only bottle from North or South America to achieve the very highest score of 96/100 - beating some huge names and price tags along the way. This bottle, Ladies and Gentlemen, is a real winner. Grab some now, before it is too late.

Marcello Pelleriti
The wines created by Marcelo Pelleriti are performed with the utmost care and dedication. Vine, where they originate, enjoys climatic and geographical conditions especially conducive to achieve great results. The wine is made respecting the great wine tradition: manual harvests, lack of fertilizers and, above all, transport of the grape by gravity. The wines are made entirely by hand and the grapes are facing a double selection: in the bunch and grain by grain. This really is a Malbec that is quite special.

Baudron Vineyard & Cellar
An excellent example of the high-quality viticulture of Maipú, Mendoza, this Baudrón Hormiga Negra Malbec comes from one of the most fascinating wine regions in the world. Located to the east of the Andes, Maipú is a privileged terroir with a desert climate ideal for growing grapes. The marked temperature variations between day and night, together with the well-drained, mineral-rich soils, give the wines a unique concentration and complexity. Made from 100% Malbec grapes, this vine is known for its ability to produce deep, full-bodied wines with intense aromas and a robust tannic structure. After the grapes are crushed and destemmed, the must undergoes controlled fermentation at temperatures between 25º and 29ºC, which preserves and enhances the fruity aromas without compromising the structure. Periodic pumping over during fermentation ensures optimal extraction of polyphenols and tannins, contributing to the smoothness and complexity of the wine. The result is a dark red wine with ruby highlights. The nose reveals a complex bouquet of red fruits, such as cherries and currants, with delicate notes of spices and vanilla. In the mouth, it is soft and velvety, with well-integrated tannins and a balanced acidity that supports the wine's freshness and structure. Although it is rich and structured, it maintains a balance that makes it enjoyable even when young. Perfect with cold cuts and red meat dishes, it is a wine that enhances rich and intense flavours. Its fruity notes and velvety structure go well with the fattiness of cured meats and red meats.

Bodega Tapiz
96 Pts - Tim Atkin This wine has an intense red-violet colour. The nose is delicate, with aromas of violet flowers, menthol, spices and black fruits. In the mouth, ripe and structured tannins, and liquorice notes. Long and persistent finish. Exceptional specimen! In 2008, Fabian Valenzuela – chief oenologist at bodega Tapiz – was selecting the components of Tapiz Seleccion de Barricas. This consisted on tasting the contents of the oak barles (225 lts capacity each) where the wines harvested in 2006 from the best plots of land were being aged for almost two years by then. This is done every year, and Seleccion de Barricas is a blend of the barriques selected in this process. That particular year, when he tasted one of the Malbec barrels, he was in awe with the deep dark colour of the wine, and the amazing concentration of flavours it presented. When pouring it in a glass and swirling it a direct image came to his mind with the drops of wines that were produced: black tears (lágrimas negras). It was at that point that he decided to make a single variety top end wine from this wine. He identified the plot of land the grapes came from, and created a new product which became iconic: Black tears Malbec

On the nose, notes of fresh red fruits, such as plum, cherries and strawberries with sweet notes of chocolate that reflects the 10 months the wine has spent in French oak. Produced from grapes grown in two different vineyards the LOS NOGALES ESTATE at an altitude of 3346 feet (1020 meters) above sea level. The grapes from this property give a special elegance to the wine with a very good balance of flavours, colour and structure, and pronounced malbec aromas. The other estate SAN PABLO is at an altitude of 4430 feet (1350 meters) above sea level and is characterized by cold nights due to the proximity of the mountains and its altitude, and the grapes here give the wine a rich intensity in colour, aroma and structure, which help to produce this premium Malbec.
