A rare and beautiful sherry showing the aromatics of an amontillado with the intensity and palate of an oloroso. Robust yet elegant it makes and excellent dinner partner, aperitif with nuts and jamon, alongside Beef Wellington or later with cheese.
Regular award-winner, a fine example of an authentic Oloroso. This is a beautifully bright amber coloured sherry with intense and classic oloroso aromas of walnuts, almonds and dried fruit. Luscious yet perfectly balanced this is a deliciously rich, dry style with a smooth finish.
Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez solera sherries are macerated with wormwood, clove, orange peel, nutmeg, angelica and quinine, to produce a unique wine with all the flavours and aromas of a classic Vermouth paired with delicious sherry undertones.
Shortly after a gently press the wine is fermented in old sherry casks, previously used for Manzanilla Pasada, and left in contact with fine lees for more than 6 months. Full of character this wine is buttery with good volume, and a surprising touch of saltiness. Great length on the finish.
Viña AB is a young Amontillado which has experienced both ageing under flor and oxidative ageing. Due to the contact with oxygen it has taken on a light amber colour. On the nose subtle and delicate with typical Palomino aromas of hazelnuts, and slight reminders of yeast due to its time under the flor. On the palate Viña AB shows subtle notes of oak due to the 12 years spent in cask. Pleasant with a balanced acidity. Long aftertaste with slight saltiness and bitterness on the finish
Ruby red colour with violet tints. On the nose it is fresh and elegant with characteristic aromas of cherry and red fruits typical of this variety. Light, harmonic and round on the palate with soft tannins.
This wine is from an area generally associated with sherry production, but in fact Cadiz has a long forgotten tradition of making red wines, with records dating back to the 14th century. Owned by the renowned Gonzalez Byass family, Finca Moncloa is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Tintilla de Rota and Petit Verdot aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels. A cherry red wine with intense aromas of red and black fruits and a balanced palate with notes of fruit, spice and oak.
Made from old vine indigenous Catalan varietal Sumoll and Ull de Lebre (Tempranillo). It almost resembles a Nebbiolo in a way. It’s fresh & fruity, but with a grippy tannin & acidity. It’s Nebbiolo traits are more in the mouthfeel than the flavors. Think less cherry & tobacco, & more fresh red berries earth & spice.
The Collection 12 year old Amontillado originates from the Collection Fino, with at least a further 4 years of oxidative ageing. This adds some nuttiness while maintaining the freshness of the Fino character. Delightful
Pastrana is a single vineyard, on the crest of a hill near the sea, therefore cooled by the sea breezes. These grapes have great intensity of flavour. The wines are aged for longer in American oak casks than La Gitana Manzanilla. Pasada Pastrana is deeper coloured as a result, and is savoury, refreshing and hugely complex.
A pungent aperitif, but also great with many foods: Tapas, soup, dry cheeses and even beef. Intensely rich pervading walnut aromas. The palate is dry, intense, rich and deep with a long and powerful flavour.
Viña Arroba, meaning “enchanted vineyard” is a captivating wine from Spain’s sun-drenched vineyards. This crisp and refreshing white wine has flavours of stone and tropical fruit and ripe apple. A lovely match to grilled fish, creamy pasta and risotto.
A small family-run bodega near the village of Navarrete, in the heart of Rioja D.O.C., making wines of great integrity and some finesse. It was founded in 1918 and is today run by Antonio Navajas and his wife. This is a big favourite of many of our customers and on a 'value for money' basis it is not hard to understand why.
