Flint Vineyards
16.5/20 Tamlyn Currin, jancisrobinson.com (2021 vintage) "Linear with a steely core and indeed flinty minerality, but it's also deeply soused in lime and headily fragrant citrus peel. Bay leaf and green cardamom shift through the fresh-apple fruit, making it elegantly herbaceous. Above all, the wine is juicy and true, delivering a full mouthful of sappy pleasure."

The palate is opulent between tension and finesse whil leaving a fresh and mineral finish. Good and strong structure in mouth. Robert parker Notes : The 2020 Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes Dessus is brilliant, unfurling in the glass with aromas of pear, orange oil, white flowers and nutmeg. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, with racy acids and a layered, textural mid-palate, it concludes with a saline finish.

Felton Road
How can one not love that instant bath of flowers, fruits and spice that this wine delivers? No holding back, no reticence at all, just a wash of Cornish Point indulgence - all leading to a flowing silky finish. Through the entire palate there is a gentle mineral seam that stops anything from tipping over into excess, so it seduces rather than hollers. There will be no lack of complexity to come for those with patience, but it is very hard to resist now. Joe Czerwinski, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate "Felton Road...consistently reviewed by this publication since the 1997 vintage... pacesetting biodynamic producer." "I almost feel like Felton Road should need no introduction by now. If two decades of excellence isn't enough to convince you to try these wines, what more can I say?" Domaine Comelade
Lionel Comelade produces this stunning wine from ancient vine Macabeu and Grenache Gris grown on amazing black and white schist soil vineyards between Estagel and Latour de France in the Roussillon. Both white grapes were harvested later in the season in 1992 with high sugar levels. The grapes were partially fermented in concrete vats and then neutral brandy was added to stop fermentation and keep natural sweetness in the wine. Then the wine was passed to second use oak barrels and left in the cellar for 34 years before bottling (to order). No ‘topping up’ of the barrels occurred in the 34 years. The wine is tremendous, possibly surpassing the 1988. It is ‘ambre’ in colour. A bright, wild nose with orange rind, orange oil and warm spices. The palate is thrilling with great complexity and depth with thrilling, wild acidity which really charms. Astonishing and quite unique. The wine is one of the best value fortified wines in the world. 34 years of age, so interesting and delicious. A steal at this price. please note: The photo is of a different vintage.

La Vigna Di San Martino Ad Argiano
Outstanding Chianti Classico Gran Selezione from the cooler north west of Chianti. Grown on soils very similar to Felsina's vineyards in Berardenga, this cooler terroir in Argiano helps produce a wine of great energy, elegance and inherent harmony. La Vigna di San Martino ad Argiano is the personal project of Giampaolo Chiettini. Giampaolo spent a good number of years working alongside Paolo di Marchi at Isole e Olena where he fell deeply in love with Sangiovese and honed his skills and became a very highly regarded winemaker of the region. Antinori and Ca' del Bosco have also used Giampaolo's services over the years. He still consults and makes wine for the outstanding Castagnoli and brilliant newcomers Ejamu amongst others. ".... one of the most pleasant surprises of my tastings for this report". Antonio Galloni July 2025 "The 2022 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione is laced with intensely spiced dark cherry, leather, menthol, licorice, dried herbs and incense. It's another powerhouse from this small estate in Barberino. I don't see the Gran Selezione as meaningfully more complex than the Riserva, but it is darker and more powerful in style, with a bit more of a slightly oxidative character as well". Rivetto
Only 24 bottles available from this small and prestigious vineyard in 2018. Briccolina is the pioneer vineyard for Rivetto's biodynamic approach, introduced in 2015. It is the only Barolo Cru granted the Demeter certification. It is a vineyard-garden, a poly-culture entirely worked by hand. Situated in Serralunga d’Alba at 340 meters with west/south-west exposure. The soil is clay-limestone, with an abundant presence of marl at a depth of two meters. Soil with sub-alkaline reaction. Scaled selection, carried out three times during the 45 days before the grape harvest. Manually harvested as late as possible. Stalk and grape seeds removal/pressing and maceration for sixty days, half of which with submerged-cap and the other half with a floating cap. No controlling of temperature during the fermentation that occurs naturally on the wild yeasts of this special garden in large, open-topped wooden vats. Malolactic completed. Aged in 15-hl oak barrels for 36 months, then aged in bottle for a further 16 months before release. Sometimes the bottles are held back a further five years. "This Barolo opens with darker fruit notes of black cherry and warmed raspberry. Wild herbs, dried leaf and cedar notes waft from the glass as it opens. The palate is brooding with roasted wild berries, black tea and savory spices giving way to an earthy finish and fine and firm tannins. Drink 2028 - 2045". Jeff Porter in Wine Enthusiast 94/100

Il Palazzone
Le Due Porte is 540 metres above sea level. Budbreak is later here, often avoiding issues with late frosts and snow. Ripening is slow and constant. The soil profile preserves humidity; important when making a wine such as Brunello that does not contemplate irrigation. Alberese has high levels of calcium carbonate which favors acidity, aided and abetted by the slower ripening and later harvest due to the exposition and altitude. We generally pick Le Due Porte as much as two weeks after our vineyards in Castelnuovo dell’Abate and are often amongst the last in Montalcino to harvest. The grapes develop organoleptic complexity from that extra hang-time and from the pronounced difference between day and night temperatures. In fact the altitude guarantees extreme thermal excursion even in hotter years which is wonderful for aromatic development. Over the last two decades we have seen, year after year, a pronounced character emerge in the fruit from this vineyard, a wine that maintains the typical structure of a Brunello vecchio stampo and epitomises finesse and elegance."

Champagne Pierre Bertrand
A small family grower in the famous village of Cumieres in the Marne valley. Pinot-dominated (like most wines from this village), it shows a deep copper/gold colour and is gorgeously aromatic. The palate is wonderfully peachy and lush whilst being bright and explosively juicy! The extended bottle-ageing of this wine (6-8 years) is rather longer most NV Champagnes and lends the wine its weight and character. But it's also fresh and lemony, making for a great combination. Judges on a Decanter tasting panel were particularly wowed by this Cuvée when tasting it blind with other Grower Champagnes in 2017, ALL giving it 98/100 points and the wine also went on to regarded as one of Decanter’s very favourite bottles of the year. We love it too and have been shipping it direct from the Bertrand family since 2008.

Benjamin de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia
Macán Clásico is a wine firmly rooted in the Sonsierra in La Rioja. Drawing its character from the slopes of the Sierra de Cantabria, the wine has inherent freshness, fruitiness, and vibrancy. The Macán Clásico is vinified in stainless-steel tanks to maximise fruit purity. The winemaking team was attentive to integrating the oak seamlessly during the subsequent maturation. The wine is aged for10 months in barrels (new and second-use French extra-fine grained oak). Maturation is completed with 18 months in bottle before release. The Vintage. Spring was mild with ideal flowering. A hailstorm on 16 June affected 7 hectares. Harvest occurred in stable weather 19thSeptember to 7th October.

"This is from loess soils in Larnage and granitic soils in Erôme, aged 6 months in concrete and 1 year in barrel. Fresh and vivid with nice brightness to the juicy red fruits. There’s also some red cherry and a bit of plum. Hints of olive and black cherry, too. Very fine and expressive". Jamie Goode on wineanorak.com 94/100

100% Sauvignon Blanc from four terroirs: clay, limestone-clay, marl, gravel. 93/100 Jane Anson "Bright Sauvignon Blanc aromatics on the nose, this is good quality. Power, concentration and spliced citrus and slate minerality. Maintains momentum, easy to love. A yield of 31hl/ha, with 10 months ageing on lees with regular stirring in to fatten up the mouthfeel. An impressive La Louvière, stands out from recent vintages at this estate."

Natural, biodynamic and vegan. Grenache, Carignan and Mourvedre from 80 year old vines, Made without filtering or fining. Pale but gorgeous mid red colour. Louis Roederer
Parker's Wine Advocate 99/100 "A candidate for wine-of-the-vintage honors in Champagne, Roederer's 2013 Cristal Rosé is showing brilliantly, unfurling in the glass with notes of crisp orchard fruit, white flowers, red berries, stone fruit, freshly baked bread and tangerine oil. Full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, the vintage's bright girdling acids are amply cloaked in exuberant, expressive and notably concentrated fruit; so while this Cristal is as tensile and age-worthy as one would expect, it's also impressively fleshy and generous given the year. Concluding with an intensely sapid finish, the 2013 isn't as overtly structured as the muscular, tightly wound 2012: rather, it's the 2013's alliance of cut and flesh, precision and charm that's so compelling this year. This is another banner vintage for what I consider the reigning champion of the region's tête de cuvée bottlings, and it will be worth an effort to acquire."

Domaine Dujac
Clos Saint-Denis is a Grand Cru vineyard within the commune of Morey-Saint-Denis in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits. This small Grand Cru of 6.6ha in fact gave its name to the village of Morey-Saint-Denis in which it is located. The name is a reference to the martyred Saint-Denis de Vergy who founded the monastic order which first planted this vineyard between the 11th and 13th centuries. The rocky clay-limestone soil and sun-catching easterly exposure of Clos Saint-Denis produces Pinot Noirs which are relatively light in structure (the are not quite so firmly structured as its Grand Cru twin, Clos de la Roche, for example), but with finely nuanced aromatics and seductive Pinot fruit. The main landowners in Clos Saint-Denis are Domaine Dujac and Domaine Georges Lignier.

A pearly pink with a fine stream of bubbles. The nose is deeply perfumed with luxuriant notes of kirsch, ripe cherries, fleshy plums and cranberries. The palate has hints of brioche and fresh butter. Candied grapefruits and earthier notes. A full bodied Rosé with a long aromatic finish. One of the most awarded vintage rosé champagnes in the world, Charles Heidsieck Rosé Millésime spends a minimum of eight years ageing on the lees in two-thousand-year-old chalk cellars. It is made from a selection of around fifteen Crus throughout Champagne. The grapes which contribute the red wine content originate from Ambonnay, Bouzy, Hautvillers, Les Riceys and Verzenay. The delicate effervescence reveals the aromatic complexity of this blended rosé which is famed for its incredible harmony and depth

A perennial CWM fave – a ready to wear fine wine at a fine price. Smells of leaf tea and autumn forest - what more could you want? Bargain. Danbury Ridge
Displaying an array of ripe red fruit aromas with highlights of cherries, hints of smokiness and spice add complexity to the nose. The palate has a juicy acidity and fine tannins lending to a refreshingly long finish. Super-premium estate sited in the warmest, driest corner of England, near the coast and Malden (of posh salt fame). This south-facing ridge enjoys an exceptionally long warm growing season - so rare in England. Our old friend John Atkinson, Master of Wine, who is an expert on cool-climate viticulture, is enthusiastically involved. Winemaker is Liam Idzikowski who boasts long experience in English wine-making; backed by owners the Bunker family, the winery is an astonishing no-expense-spared jewel in the crown for English wine. The Pinot is deep and svelte in the Pommard/Volnay tradition, rich of fruit and cool of spice - clove, anise etc. Young but self-evidently grand, and deeply impressive.

This 'baby Meursault' is derived from two small, advantageously positioned parcels of old vines just outside the village of Meursault. The 2022 is an excellent vintage that offers immense concentration and a more forward expression in the glass. It boasts opulent, rich qualities and focused minerality that mirror what we love in the wines of the appellation. The vineyards of 35 to 60-year-old vines lie just outside the AOC border of Meursault, which dramatically lowers the price while allowing for one of the greatest White Burgundy values we have. This wine is ready to drink now and doesn’t need aging. Zesty, bitter citrus, lemon, and grapefruit characters, with a biscuity, yeasty character all held together by a spicy acidity, and a lean mineral salinity. Serious integration, sheer quality.

Domaine La Bouissiere
Spring 3 for 2 Sale
An almost one man band Gigondas producer with small but deeply enviable vineyard holdings up in the hills, planted 60 years ago by his grandfather. The key to this wine's brilliance is that the vineyard, although in Beaumes de Venise appellation, is right on the border of Gigondas, high up on the Dentelles slopes - the very best vineyard sites of Gigondas itself. Stretch the border a few hundred metres and include this wine in Gigondas and you could add 50% to the price! As you would expect, it is hearty and herbal, dense in fruit, bold and juicy with a whiff of roast lamb. A belter!

Here’s something you don’t come across everyday…a Nebbiolo/Cabernet blend that is fermented and aged in concrete egg. The choice of fermentation vessel aids circulation during teh ferment which imparts depth, volume and texture to the resultant wine. This fabulous wine not only has a cool, egg-shaped label, but drinks beautifully, showing bright acidity and a lovely balance between sweet blackcurrant fruit and something altogether more savoury and herbal. The finish is clean and multi-layered. It has a purity of fruit that allows the drinker to experience the flavours of BNebbiolo without the normal oak influence tasted in Piemontese versions.

Domaine Bachey-Legros
Outstanding Santenay Blanc from the growers with the oldest vines in the appellation. As the name suggests the vineyard sits below the limestone cliff, which offers protection and allows the vines to thrive. The wine has the hallmarks of a white wine grown on limestone too, offering great acidity alongside the ripe fruit character that old vines provide. We have been working with the Legros brothers Sam and Lenaic since, well, for as long as we can remember, at least 25 years. Their vines are very old and seem to enjoy life on the upper slopes of Santenay, protected from the worst excesses of the climate by limestone cliffs and woodland. They harvest late to offer ripeness and richness, a hedonistic style that is irresistible to us and many customers.

Domaines Ott
Domaines Ott Château Romassan Rouge Bandol is a luxurious and complex red wine that embodies the quintessential flavors and aromas of the Bandol region in France. Produced from a blend of Mourvèdre, Grenache, and Cinsault grapes, the wine boasts a deep, bold ruby color and rich, full-bodied texture with notes of black cherry, blackberry, and licorice on the nose. On the palate, the wine is full of flavor with firm tannins and a long, silky finish. This wine is perfect for pairing with hearty meat dishes, stews, and hard cheeses. It is a truly remarkable wine that showcases the mastery of the winemakers at Domaines Ott. Domaines Ott was founded in 1912 by Marcel Ott, an agricultural engineer from Alsace who dreamed of establishing a great wine estate near the Mediterranean. Today, the wineries are owned and managed by Champagne Louis Roederer and produce some of the world’s most prestigious wines, but particularly rosé wines, made at distinctively different estates in Bandol and Côtes de Provence appellations.

Domaine Bachey-Legros
A delicious Pinot Noir from one of Burgundy's lesser known but fantastic appellations - Maranges. The vines for this wine date back to 1945 and create a wine that is concentrated with a deep, rich colour and wonderful expressive fruit flavours. The grapes are allowed to ripen to maturity before harvest to obtain the softest possible tannins. Drinking superbly now and can also age for many years to come. Perfect with turkey, game and even beef. We have been working with the Legros brothers Sam and Lenaic since, well, for as long as we can remember, at least 25 years.
