Delivery Information

Gift Deliveries

If you are sending a gift to a third party via Local Delivery please provide a daytime telephone number and / or email address for the recipient in the Comments Section of your order form. Please also use the Comments Section if there is a specific place to leave the package(s) if the recipient is out, such as 'If out leave with neighbour'. If our driver does not have instructions and
nobody is available to receive the Local Delivery, we will normally leave the package at one of our Cambridge branches for collection.

We are also happy to include a message of your choice to accompany the gift. If you would like a message to be included please provide this in the Comments section of your order form.



National & International Delivery


If you require the delivery of your wine on or before a specific date, or are only able to receive the wine during certain times of day please include full details in the Comments Section of your order.

Local Delivery up to 5 miles from our Cambridge city centre branches costs £2.95 - your bill is adjusted prior to taking payment. Please allow up to seven working days for delivery.

Please note that if nobody is available to receive the Local Delivery, we will normally leave the package at one of our Cambridge branches for collection.


National Delivery charges are from £7.50 in courier approved wine packaging. Please see prices below.

National Delivery (please allow 5 working days for delivery)

1-11 bottles £7.50 - was £9.99

12 bottles £7.50

More than 12 bottles £7.50 - for each group (or part group) of 12 bottles.


Our national parcel deliveries are handled by Parcelforce. Their standard process is to request a signature for the parcel therefore if you believe that there may not be someone present to receive the delivery it is preferable to suggest leaving it with a neighbour, rather than in a safe place nearby. If there is nobody available to receive the delivery and you do not provide any instructions, Parcelforce will leave a card and your delivery will be delayed.


For orders with a total value over £250, delivery is Free to UK mainland addresses (excluding Islands and Scottish Highlands). Please note that this does not apply to en primeur deliveries.

Our couriers regard the Highlands and Islands of Scotland as being postcodes IV, HS, KA27-28, KW, PA20-49, PA60-78, PH17-26, PH30-44, PH49-50, ZE. Please see below for more information.

Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Isles of Scilly (postcodes BT, IM, TR21-25) are also treated differently and our couriers classify the Channel Islands as an International destination.

Pallet Deliveries

Often our customers prefer to receive a pallet delivery for large private orders; where the wine is being sent to a third party for storage; or for shipments to the trade. Please contact us for a quotation (orders@cambridgewine.com) specific to your order and delivery address.



En Primeur

Please note that all En Primeur deliveries to UK mainland addresses are charged at £9.99 per physical case of six or twelve bottles (as appropriate). This charge applies to all orders. Where our couriers impose a surcharge, for instance for Highland deliveries, we will pass this on to you at cost.



Deliveries to Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands and UK Islands

Please contact us for a quotation (orders@cambridgewine.com) on shipping to the Scottish Highlands, UK Islands and Northern Ireland. Prices vary according to destination and weight. Our couriers regard the Highlands and Islands of Scotland as being postcodes IV, HS, KA27-28, KW, PA20-49, PA60-78, PH17-26, PH30-44, PH49-50, ZE.

Parcels sent to Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Isles of Scilly (postcodes BT, IM, TR21-25) also attract additional courier charges.

International Delivery

Cambridge Wine Merchants are now able to ship wine within Europe. These shipments are not insured against breakage by our couriers and therefore we recommend using robust polystyrene packaging. We provide a number of popular polystyrene packaging options so please contact orders@cambridgewine.com if you are keen to discuss further.

We cannot ship by air freight due to UK legal restrictions and certain jurisdictions (such as Australia, Canada, Russia and the USA) are prohibited for local legal reasons. Please note that our carriers refuse to ship liquids with an alcohol strength exceeding 24% ABV outside the UK.

Billing Delivery Charges

Delivery charges quoted at the time of placing your order with us may vary from the final charge. We will ALWAYS notify you in advance if the final charge is more expensive.

Please note that we do not charge your card when you place your order using our website. Your card will not be charged until your order has been processed by our sales team.
