An often 'misunderstood' wine. This is because many people consider cinsault a filler grape for the production of rosé wines. However, on its own it can make a juicy, fruity, lighter-bodied, frivolous wine as Domaine La Combe Blanche have demonstrated. Vigneron Guy Vanlancker has pioneered a single varietal cinsault long before it became fashionable in the region.

Domaine Combe Blanche was founded 30 years ago by Guy Vanlancker, a Belgian teacher who moved south to pursue his dream of making top red wine. Purchased in 1981, the 17 hectares of the property included 6.5 hectares of vines and 10.5 hectares of scrubland. After removing and replanting part of the estate, La Combe Blanche became an avant-garde estate thanks to the establishment between 1983 and 1986 of Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, Viognier and Roussanne. Today the production area is 12 ha, including 6 ha of Minervois AOC, 2 ha of Minervois La Livinière AOC and 4 ha of Côtes du Brian wine country.
