WSET Level 2 Award in Wine & Spirits (formerly known as WSET Intermediate Certificate) £345. 3 day course

This course covers the major grape varieties and where they are grown around the world, the different styles of wine produced (including sparkling and sweet wines) and the production of spirits and liqueurs. Students are taught how to taste wine professionally using the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting.
Who it is aimed at:
•    People employed in the drinks and hospitality industries with little previous knowledge of alcoholic beverages.
•    Wine enthusiasts who wish to acquire in-depth knowledge of wines and spirits and want to obtain an internationally recognised wine qualification.

The WSET Level 2 Award in Wine and Spirits is an internationally recognised introductory course suitable for anyone wishing to broaden their knowledge of wines. You will learn about the major grape varieties, wine styles from the key wine producing countries of the world, the main spirits categories and understand the factors that influence the style, quality and price. If you are an employer wishing to train your staff this course will equip them with knowledge of the main wine styles and spirits categories.  This course is suitable for anyone employed in wine sales and service. It is an ideal follow up for anyone who has taken the WSET Level 1 course.This qualification will teach you about the key grape varieties grown around the world. The different styles of wine produced and the production of spirits and liqueurs.

Each session will be supported by relevant tasting samples. Assessment of the course is via an externally set and marked 50 question multiple choice paper (1 hour).
