Rivetto
Only 24 bottles available from this small and prestigious vineyard in 2019. Briccolina is the pioneer vineyard for Rivetto's biodynamic approach, introduced in 2015. It is the only Barolo Cru granted the Demeter certification. It is a vineyard-garden, a poly-culture entirely worked by hand. Situated in Serralunga d’Alba at 340 meters with west/south-west exposure. The soil is clay-limestone, with an abundant presence of marl at a depth of two meters. Soil with sub-alkaline reaction. Scaled selection, carried out three times during the 45 days before the grape harvest. Manually harvested as late as possible. Stalk and grape seeds removal/pressing and maceration for sixty days, half of which with submerged-cap and the other half with a floating cap. No controlling of temperature during the fermentation that occurs naturally on the wild yeasts of this special garden in large, open-topped wooden vats. Malolactic completed. Aged in 15-hl oak barrels for 36 months, then aged in bottle for a further 16 months before release. Sometimes the bottles are held back a further five years.

Montesquiou Freres
The Montesquiou family have been a source of Jurancon wines for generations, today it is run by brothers Sébastien and Fabrice who have raised the quality of the estate to a new level. The brothers employ many of the techniques of biodynamic viticulture so that no insecticides and herbicides are used. Superb value dessert wine. The vineayrds of Jurancon are blessed with a very dry autumn allowing grapes to be left on the vine well into November, by which time they have begun to dry, concentrating the sugars and the flavours, whilst retaining all of the bracing acidity which is the hallmark of Petit Manseng. The palate hits you with a mouthful of rich apricot and peach flavours, as well as significant sweetness from 120grams+ residual sugar. Still you have great acidity, length and richness. A joy and terrific value.

Pieropan
Stellar producer, one of Italy's great family estates. Such intensity and focus. This is the 'baby version' but holds its own as a snappy, crisp ready to drink style.

Stellar Organics
Organic and Fairtrade. This wine has a rich dark colour with a smoky and vanilla nose. Dark fruit on the palate gives the wine an all-round juiciness. Oaky tannins impart a spicy finish with good structure.

"This Barolo opens with darker fruit notes of black cherry and warmed raspberry. Wild herbs, dried leaf and cedar notes waft from the glass as it opens. The palate is brooding with roasted wild berries, black tea and savory spices giving way to an earthy finish and fine and firm tannins. Drink 2028 - 2045". Jeff Porter in Wine Enthusiast 94/100

Domaine Gayda
‘La Minuette’ blended rosé comes from La Livinière limestone terroir. Its pale colour and floral bouquet represent the ‘Minuette’ variety of rose planted in Kenya by Tim Ford in 1982, during his 25 years of rose production in Africa. A nod to both the past and the future, ‘La Minuette’ exemplifies estate values of tradition and modernity. Mourvèdre, Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault from outstanding organic Minervois La Livinière vineyards. A lychee-tinged colour evokes a very Provençal style. On the nose, finesse and elegance dominate, offering a refined aromatic bouquet. Notes of fresh grapefruit and tart raspberries blend harmoniously with vine peach, while cherry blossom adds a delicate floral touch. On the palate, the wine is gourmand, with flavours of strawberry and raspberry supported by fresh notes of clementine and bergamot zest. The texture is crisp and tangy, balanced by a light minerality on the finish. Really outstanding for the cash.

Domaines des Lampyres
Francois Xavier AKA 'FX' worked with Tom Lubbe at Domaine Matassa for five years. He spent a further year with Domaine Danjou-Banessy. After such time this local lad set up in Espira to make his own wholly exciting wines which we are introducing the UK for the first time. One hundred percent thirty year old vine Syrah on red clay. Eight days skin macération whole bunch. Fermentation in stainless steel and aged seven months in a single 20 hl foudre. 2g/hl sulphites added just before bottling. This is like a fine, gentle Crozes-hermitage with wild notes and tangy blueberry fruit. Very smart and stylish wine from young FX.

Domaine Grosbois
This is top-class. Silky, seductive and concentrated but with a light touch typical of the genre. From the website of UK agents Thorman Hunt: Domaine Grosbois is a 9h Domaine run by two brothers, Nicolas and Sylvain. Their family vineyard is located at a place called “The Pressoir” Panzoult in the Chinon appellation in the heart of the Loire Valley. Nicolas arrived at the family estate in 2008, after spending 10 years as a “flying winemaker” and having spent time in New Zealand, Australia, Chile and Oregon. After his time abroad, Nicolas strongly believes in not vinifying and ageing in wood, choosing concrete instead to preserve the freshness and vitality. No old oak has been used since 2015. Sylvain similarly spent time abroad in Chile, Oregon working for Domaine Drouhin and Australia. The brothers are passionate about organic viticulture and show their wines at The Raw Wine Fair. The Gabare cuvée comes from the old vines of a clay limestone vineyard. The grapes are destemmed and undergo a 2 to 3 day cold maceration. The wines undergo a 20 day cuvaison in concrete tanks and are then also aged in concrete.

Garesio
The Gianetto vineyard is next to Cerretta. It was never bottled before using the vineyard name as it was added to famous brands, like Prunotto, as fruit and wine from here in Serralunga was always an important part of Barolo. Garesio have the best part of the vineyard, east facing, bathed by the morning 'sori', between 270 and 310 metres above sea level. It shows a bit more power that the Cerretta bottling. It's a beautiful wine and also a stunning value. Walter Speller on jancisrobinson.com "Perfect amalgam of red fruit and oak. Tightly knit red-fruit palate with great depth and real energy. Cool, long red-fruit finish with finely coating tannins". 17+/20

Rivetto
Enrico Rivetto is one of the pioneers of the Nascetta grape in these times, and a seeker of truth for the varietal expression in his clay-limestone soils on Sinio at 400 metres altitude with northern exposure. The soils have a sub-alkaline reaction, low in nitrogen. Nascetta is a semi-aromatic grape native to Lange with excellent aging potential. Historical texts liken this varietal to the great wines of Rhein. Manually harvested, sometimes at different stages depending on the vintage conditions. Nascetta sees wild, spontaneous fermentation. 80% of the wine is macerated on skins for three days then sees spontaneous fermentation and then breeds in concrete tank. The other 20% is vinified in Amphora with post ferment maceration lasting for several months. These two portions are then blended just before bottling. The 2022 shows gorgeous yellow plum, honeysuckle and herbs on the nose. The wine is citrus-juicy, yet with good minerality and a lean and waxy structure that shows good tension. Quite wonderful and delightfully curious. Notes on the 2021: "Macerated on the skins for 72 hours, this golden Nascetta lifts from the glass with aromas of baked apples, roast lemon and dried yellow flowers. The sublime texture is highlighted by dried orange, dried wild herbs and crunchy acidity" Jeff Porter in Wine Enthusiast 92/100 "Deep, almost golden yellow. Enticing, distinctive nose of dried quince, orange blossom, lemon and the merest suggestion of curry powder, pressed orange and bruised apple. Very subtle and long and unfolding only slowly on the finish with the perfect dose of ripe acidity. Super-fine but noticeable texture. Still not at its peak". 17++/20 Walter Speller on jancisrobinson.com July 2025

Domaine Gayda
A limited edition wine from Gayda that changes with every vintage. Beautiful Rolle (Vermentino) and Viognier from the Minervois are picked when perfectly ripe then pressed slowly in whole bunches, with very gentle racking and seeing careful vinification without sulphur, at low temperature - ageing on lees - the Rolle in stainless steel vats, and the Viognier in a mixture of concrete eggs and stainless steel tanks. This is SPARKLY BRIGHT and DAZZLING with good richness also. The pale yellow colour is elegant and brilliant. On the nose, a discreet subtlety reveals notes of Granny Smith apple, lime and fresh almonds, characteristic of the blend of Rolle and Viognier grapes. On the palate, the wine is full and generous, supported by a lovely acidity and a slight, attractive bitterness on the finish. A mineral touch adds fascinating depth also. The flavours of fresh pear, acacia flower, almond and white peach unfold harmoniously, offering you a refined, beautifully balanced treat of a wine. Unique and utterly, utterly marvellous. A LOT of wine for the money.

Rivetto
A quite thrilling and utterly extraordinary Nebbiolo d'Alba from the brilliant Enrico Rivetto. The Nebbiolo vines grow on the Lirano hill at Sinio at an altitude 400m with exposure to the west on clay-limestone soils - on the border of Barolo. The grapes are manually harvested late September, destalked and fermented naturally in Amphora with its wild, indigenous yeasts. The wine macerates in these terracotta containers for a very long time. The wine has great energy and tension, it is extraordinarily elegant and wonderfully complex too. A neo-classical marvel of a wine. Enrico has dedicated this wine to the hill where he lives and grows. It's an absolutely extraordinary offering that regularly gets scored in the mid-to high nineties in the American journals, if that's your thing: 94/100 in Wine Enthusiast for the 2021, 96/100 WE and 96/100 in Wine Spectator for the 2019, 95/100 in WE for the 2017 etc, etc. "Lustrous mid ruby. Serious and slowly opening up. Lots of minerals and subdued fine cherry fruit. Lush, cool yet ripe perfumed red fruit with long, sandy tannins. Great balance and length and very fine". 17.5/20 Walter Speller on jancisrobinson.com July 2025 "Vibrantly intense and vividly pure, this must-try pick gushes with crushed raspberry, candied violet and fragrant wild herbs. It feels as light as a feather yet crams in buckets of red berries with an evocative undertow of baked earth and stony minerals. Gorgeously fluid and energetic, it flows seamlessly, dispersing suede-like tannins all over the mouth. Absolutely moreish! Enrico Rivetto chooses the more restrictive Nebbiolo d'Alba denomination to distinguish this amphora-aged version from his more classically crafted Langhe Nebbiolo. It spends a full six months on skins and is bottled with less than 60ppm of SO2". 93/100 Michalela Morris, Decanter Magazine June 2025 An absolute, slept-on beauty that we are very proud to bring to the UK.

Terres Falmet
Another outstanding Mourvedre-led Languedoc Rose. Yves Falmet has spent time selecting the best plots on his single slope of vines in Creyssian Saint-Chinian for the production of a fresh (12.5% abv) Rose. Pale pink colour, with classic, deep and full Mourvedre aromatics leading to a medium bodied, fresh palate that is citrus led with tangy tamarind, stony deliciousness and good minerality. This is an utterly outstanding bargain. A very serious, utterly drinkable Rose.

Agricola Vintners
Callum Powell has learnt from the best when it comes to Syrah. He practically grew up in the cellars at Torbreck, the Barossa winery his father co-founded, watching it grow from the modest start up in a small shed to the international power house of today. He spent a year at Jean-Louis Chave in the Northern Rhone, one of THE top producers of Hermitage and St Joseph, learning more about his craft. His recent project with his father named Powell & Son sought out the best vineyards in Barossa and Eden and experimented with natural winemaking and indigenous yeasts, and gained him much international attention. Callum now brings his knowledge and natural instinct to his own wines. Sourcing fruit from his family's vineyards as well as the famous Hoffmann sites, Callum is quickly stepping out of his father’s shadow and making a name for himself. His time in Hermitage and the many hours working the perilously steep slopes of the vineyards continues to influence him today. His wines are both named after the towns from which the fruit is sourced, recalling the site specific way of naming wines in Hermitage. And he even likens his different wines to the characteristics produced from the different lieux-dits of Chave. Producing wines with a very light hand, with only minimal SO2 added a atr bottling, Callum aims to create lithe wines that are pure, unadulterated, and without the heavy oak influence that the region is known for, with a true traceability of place. Classic, bold, rich and beautiful Ebenezer fruit but with real energy and acidity. Pretty much perfect Barosssa Shiraz. It's classic, but modern - in the best sense. Absolutely wonderful. 12 bottles only available. Be quick!

Rivetto
The winery’s finest. After three years of barrel aging abd two in bottle, Barolo can be considered a "Riserva". Enrico selects his Barolo Riserva exclusively from a select few barrels of the vintage that show a greater aging potential. The extra years of ageing guarantee greater smoothness of the tannins and it has intensified the aromatics of leather, red fruit, balsamic and orange oil. Tremendously complex and very deep and satisfying Barolo for the ages. Drink from now until 2060. "Serralunga d’Alba. Mid ruby with orange tinges. Softly perfumed and complex nose with peppery raspberry and sour cherry. Juicy, nervy red fruit and raspberry on the palate, elegant and with long, coating tannins. Elegant and expressive. Pretty irresistible". 17.5/20 Walter Speller on jancisrobinson.com "Fine, resolved, quiet, furry. Lovely breathing grace... great classic Barolo is like smelling or inhaling someone else's breath (someone healthy who you love!) Very classic ... there is quiet tar, there are hints of rose. Smooth, supple, serene. Fine leather is always an allusion. There is a warmth and wealth and seize of fruit. Smooth, serene on the palate. Mouthfilling, lovely bright acidity grafted to fine-milled tannins. Perfect combination of the sweet and the dry. Amazing how 'young' Barolo becomes 'mature' so quickly. It's heady and ripe but so light, graceful and tiptoe to sip. Hard to fault but as in the past you sort of run out of adjectives to hymn as well". 94-95 Andrew Jefford

Rich and complex aromas with notes of toasted vanilla, rich ripe white fruits and a touch of hazelnut and brioche. Lovely rich and fresh primary flavours linger, supported by a natural acidity which extends the finish. The palate mirrors the aromas. A burgundy-style white to pair with salmon or poultry in cream sauce, pâté and hard-to-pair dishes like artichoke, asparagus, salty cheeses. Serve lightly chilled at 14°C.

Tenute di Carleone
Something different. 100% Sangiovese from two high altitude sites (at Radda and Lamole). The grapes are picked late to get maximum ripeness from these beautiful high-lying vineyards. Fermented in cement tanks with 20% whole bunches. The long maceration of 4 months gives the wine a wonderful lifted fruit character, which differentiates it from the more classic styles. The Wine Advocate:cWith its elegant white wax capsule, the Tenuta di Carleone 2022 ‘Il Guercio’ is partially made with feet-stomped Sangiovese (and up to 50% whole-cluster fruit) sourced from the village of Lamole, with its verdant vineyard landscapes and high elevations. This IGT red is balanced and bright with a lean consistency. The fruit tones are presented with good intensity and layered nuance. You get some of the bitter flavours from the skins (from extended maceration), red apple, wild herb, blue flower and crushed stone. Drink now-2035. 95 points Vinous: The 2022 Il Guercio is laced with hints of wild cherry, kirsch, dried flowers, mint and white pepper. High-toned aromatics remind me of Gianfranco Soldera’s Brunellos, This ethereal, gracious pure Sangiovese needs time in bottle to come together. It is undeniably attractive. Drink now-2037. 94 points

Domaine des Trinités
Natural wine from Simon Coulshaw: no cultured yeast, enzymes, chemical tannins or fining product. 90% 130 yr old-vine Cinsault, 10% Syrah. I was instructed to chill this a bit before tasting. It was in the fridge for about 25 minutes and then left out for 10 minutes before tasting. Fresh red-berried nose. Hurrah! Here is another Languedoc producer who 'gets' Cinsault. Perky, bright, raspberries and with that lovely telltale Cinsault salty-sweet tang that always reminds me of the best prosciutto or jamon. A bit of white pepper and ground cumin tangled into feather-light sinews of tannin. This is absolutely YUM. Tapas/aperitivo wine, without a doubt. I could drink this all summer long.
