Willunga
Deep purple red in colour, the wine is a heady mix of dark berry fruit, with earthy nuances and lifted florals from the addition of Viognier. Excellent structure, it has great depth and richness of plums and blackberries with supportive, balanced oak and a lingering finish.

Domaine Gayda
Notes of cherry and raspberry, with a sniff of garrigue. A delightful mouthfeel with silky tannins and notes of black fruits and spices, ending with a tangy finish and a good length. Beautiful Syrah and Carignan from the Roussillon grown on gneiss. The Syrah was destemmed and fermented then raised in 5yo oak barrels, The Carignan was fermented whole bunch then raised in stainless steel to preserve it brilliant brightness. A great En Passant.

Domaines des Lampyres
Francois Xavier AKA 'FX' worked with Tom Lubbe at Domaine Matassa for five years. He spent a further year with Domaine Danjou-Banessy. After such time this local lad set up in Espira to make his own wholly exciting wines which we are introducing the UK for the first time. One hundred percent thirty year old vine Syrah on red clay. Eight days skin macération whole bunch. Fermentation in stainless steel and aged seven months in a single 20 hl foudre. 2g/hl sulphites added just before bottling. This is like a fine, gentle Crozes-hermitage with wild notes and tangy blueberry fruit. Very smart and stylish wine from young FX.

Dom. des Escaravailles
Gilles Ferran's entry level Rasteau from the steep sunny slopes that black robed monks used to tend, looking like beetles or 'escaravailles' from a distance. "Big, robust, plush, and juicy with evident oak too. Still showing some puppy fat, but should come together to be pretty sumptuous in a few years time."

Dom. d'Ourea
From a vineyard located on the sandy banks deposited by the river Ouvèze. A beautiful mix of indigenous, rare and wonderful cepages (25% Grenache Noir, 25% Carignan Noir, 20% Cinsault, 10% Aramon, 10% Counoise and 10% Oeillade) vinified whole-bunch with a short maceration and then 6 months breeding in concrete vat produce a beautifully bright-fruited, floral, vigorous but supple, savoury and very classy drinking and tapas wine. A GREAT introduction to this most exciting of estates based in Vacqueyras and Gigondas. SERVE COOL.

Domaine Gayda
Winemaker Vincent Chansault is particularly happy with this release of Gayda's top, single vineyard Syrah from a beautiful site high up in La Liviniere. Extrememly limited. One for Cote-Rotie lovers. The 'Dream House' in question was built by the owner in the vineyards for his ailing wife to spend her last days. She miraculously recovered and her story inspired Vincent to make his dream wine from Syrah in La Liviniere.

Thistledown
An absolutely pitch-perfect old vine Grenache from McLaren Vale from the top team at Thistledown. Beautiful, lifted and perfumed fruit with some high-toned herbal notes from the inclusion of 30% whole-bunch. On the palate this little Devil shows utter, glorious drinkability that comes from serious, but hands off - with nothing forced - top, top winemaking. The wine has the characteristic McLaren Vale perfume and spice with a beguiling texture and perfume that unfolds, layer by layer. This delicately hued red is very elegant with vibrant wild strawberry, spice and silky texture. Outstanding. In 2022 this cuvee is really not too far away from the glorious single site offerings that this outstanding estate produce year on year from some of the greatest old vine Grenache sites in the Vale. An utter bargain and a dream of a drink. 10/10. Matthew Jukes Best 100 Australian Wines Report 'This year, the wine that stood out for me was one of the less expensive wines in his portfolio, but I wouldn’t have known this unless a price tag was stuck on the bottle....I happen to think 2022 Thorny Devil is the finest value red wine Giles has made since he set out on his odyssey some 13 years ago".

Domaine des Trinités
Natural wine from Simon Coulshaw: no cultured yeast, enzymes, chemical tannins or fining product. 90% 130 yr old-vine Cinsault, 10% Syrah. I was instructed to chill this a bit before tasting. It was in the fridge for about 25 minutes and then left out for 10 minutes before tasting. Fresh red-berried nose. Hurrah! Here is another Languedoc producer who 'gets' Cinsault. Perky, bright, raspberries and with that lovely telltale Cinsault salty-sweet tang that always reminds me of the best prosciutto or jamon. A bit of white pepper and ground cumin tangled into feather-light sinews of tannin. This is absolutely YUM. Tapas/aperitivo wine, without a doubt. I could drink this all summer long. Pedro Parra y Familia
Miles Davis, eccentric, mad, funky and definitely not a light wine. Quite incredible that it’s the same grape, vinification and area as the ‘Hub’, just different soil. Bolder and more tannic, grippy with a very long finish and so limited! 2 hectares of vines, that’s it!

Domaine les Yeuses
Victoria Moore writes (of the 2013 vintage) "a favourite all-rounder red. It’s merlot made precisely à point; there’s a juicy generosity, but also a refreshing leafiness: redcurrant leaves and lightly stewed damsons."

Antinori
Since the 2011 vintage the historical label Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva is made only with fruit sourced from the Tignanello estate, making it the perfect introduction to the flagship wine. It’s made almost entirely with Sangiovese with a small percentage of other complementary varieties. A wine that fully expresses the quality and elegance of Sangiovese grapes grown in this area

Domaine Bertrand Bachelet
Brilliant ruby robe, raspberry. A striking nose, with an aroma of red fruit, blackcurrant. Fresh on the palate, with peppery notes. The Maranges appellation is the youngest of the Côte de Beaune family, making its debut in May 1989. It spans three villages, namely Dezize-lès-Maranges, Cheilly-les-Maranges and Sampigny-les-Maranges. Several hills and slopes make up this appellation, all south/south-east-facing, at an altitude of between 200 and 400 metres. The Maranges 1ers Crus are spread over seven distinct climats.

Indomita
A smooth, fruity Pinot Noir from the Casablanca Valley. Red cherry flavours with a sweet, ripe fruit finish. A portion of the wine is matured in French oak barrels which adds a roundness and a hint of spice to the finished wine.
