Critic Review
17.5/20 Tamlyn Currin, jancisrobinson "And yet another stunning, diaphanous wine from François-Xavier Dauré. Whenever I taste his wines I don't want to drink any other red wine. Super-pale rosy ruby colour. It doesn't give away much on the nose but my, this slender, mercurial slip of a wine is alight with peppery lift and tiny wild strawberries and wild-rosehip fruit. It has a featherbrush of tannins and the acidity tastes of blood oranges and orange peel and the bitter winter-bite of hawthorn berries. It slips around the tongue like a ribbon, leaving traces of sumac tingling in its wake. Is FX a magician? How does he make a blending grape from the Loire taste this good in Roussillon? An insider wine strictly for those who prize elegance, love Pinot, drink Chinon and have racks full of SA Cinsault from the guys who know how to make Cinsault. (TC)"
