compared to the usual quality of the respective appellations’. Claude Marechal makes his
wines as naturally as possible, taking his inspiration from his late friend Henri Jayer who he
trained with early in his career. In common with Jayer he makes wines above and beyond the
expectations of his terroirs. His wines are pure and sleek with vibrant fruit and great
potential to age. In the vineyard ripeness is the watchword and the vines are maintained in
order to maximise phenolic maturity every vintage whatever the conditions. No chemical
fertilisers are used and the harvest is hand picked each vintage, Claude says he is usually the
last in each appellation to pick which shows on the ripe fruited nature of his wines. After
harvest the bunches are sorted by hand and gently de-stemmed before vinification using
natural yeasts. The fermenting must is pumped over twice daily and once alcoholic
fermentation is finished the wines are placed into oak barrels where they mature for between
10 and 15 months. From tastings of back vintages at the domaine it is clear these are wines
that are built to age well. Claude has not changed his prices for the 2021 vintage.
Delivery
You can choose to have your order delivered or arrange click and collect in store (more info below). Delivery is FREE on orders of £60 or more (Cambridge and surrounds) and £120 or more (UK wide) to a single address in mainland Great Britain.
We normally aim for next day delivery as far as possible (Monday – Friday) on orders placed before midday. Orders placed in the afternoon will be processed the morning after, on a next day service. Orders placed from Friday midday until Sunday will be processed and made ready for dispatch the following Monday. This may take longer if stock needs to be collected from one more locations.
Customers should receive notification from our couriers by text when their order is en route.
Unfortunately, issues in the supply chain can mean longer than normal delivery times may be experienced.
Age Verification Policy
When our drivers deliver any age-restricted products to the delivery address they may ask for proof of age. As a licence holder we have responsibility for the sale and supply of alcohol. One of our responsibilities is to ensure we do not sell age-restricted products online to people who are under the minimum legal age.
On our website you will notice that many products carry a notice that they are only for sale to people of legal age. During the check out process you will be asked to confirm that you are of legal age to purchase any age-restricted products.
You will not be able to check out without providing that confirmation.
