Critic Review
17.5/20 Tamlyn Currin, jancisrobinson.com "Tangy, leesy nose drawing you in to a grippy register of citrus fruit and citrus oils and pithy punky bitterness and deep dried-quince sweetness. At first the wine feels like silk and then it slides across your tongue and turns to almond-skin texture. There is a (dry) bronzed richness yet the wine feels like rolling bleached bones and bleached beach stones in the mouth. Deeply fissured by long, pearl-white bitter streaks. The ghosts of yeasts leave an umami, bready sense of flavour on the finish, as if they are still whispering to their lees. A dramatic, singular, beautiful wine which will be wonderful with red meat, slow-cooked bean-rich stews and mushrooms. I'd have thought it would be twice the price. GV (TC)"
