A unique blend only made by Blandy’s, combining the islands Bual & Malmsey varietals, Blandy's 5 year old Reserva was aged in American oak casks in the traditional 'Canteiro' system. This comprises of the gentle heating of the wine in the lofts of the lodges in Funchal. Over the years the wine is transferred from the top floors to the middle floors and eventually to the ground floor where it is cooler. The Mol-B Vinho Branco Frisante shows gentle, floral and fruity aromas, whilst the palate is soft with a sparkle and bright grapey fruit with a touch of fresh mango and citrus to the fresh, delightful finish. Wine produced exclusively from grapes of the Herdade do Esporão, under organic production. In the search for greater freshness, a selection of the first grape varieties to be harvested is made. The fermentation and aging in concrete tulip-shaped tanks (porous/neutral aromas) respect the freshness and purity of the fruit, resulting in a direct, fresh, and vibrant wine. A red blend composed of Trincadeira, Touriga Franca, Aragonez, Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet, and Tinta Miúda grapes, not aged in wood, but briefly aged in concrete vats. Full of ripe red and black fruits, accompanied by floral, herbal, and spicy notes, which resonate on the palate.. Pleasant to drink, fluid and juicy, with a finish with hints of plum, blackberry, licorice, balsamic, and earthy notes.
