Adi Badenhorst
Fairly simple cherry and redcurrant aromas lead to blackcurrants and plums in the mouth, with refreshing acidity and a line of bitterness on the back palate. The grapes were whole-bunch pressed, which perhaps adds that greeness underneath the ripe fruit. A more structured, tannic wine than initially expected, but with lovely fruit - delicious wine.

Adi Badenhorst
Adi Badenhorst has created three canned versions of his good-value, entry-level Curator wines, of which this is the pick. Aromas of juicy apricots, pineapples, bananas, nectarines and wild strawberry hints too. The palate is rich, intense and flavoursome with ripe stone and some tropical fruit, bound in a creamy mouthfeel, like a mouthful of peach yoghurt. A little jasmine freshness tickles the finish. "Canned wine has gone seriously next-level". Victoria Moore, The Telegraph

Compass Box
The Circle is based around a parcel of fruity and creamy single malt from the Tamdhu Distillery in Speyside. This is supported by malt whisky from the Clynelish Distillery. A touch of peated malt whisky from an Orkney distillery and a small proportion of a French oak-finished blended malt whisky complete the recipe. Rosey Mitchell is the 2018 winner of The Circle, a programme designed to inspire bartenders around the world. Rosey’s prize? To create a blend with Compass Box founder John Glaser and whiskymaker Jill Boyd. Rosey wanted to make an approachable whisky to be shared with friends, something for the daytime, a whisky with brightness. She called it 'sunshine in a glass.'

Domaine Gayda
A limited edition wine from Gayda that changes with every vintage. And the 2023 is an exciting new take indeed! Beautiful Rolle (Vermentino) and Viognier from the Minervois are picked when perfectly ripe then pressed slowly in whole bunches, with very gentle racking and seeing careful vinification without sulphur, at low temperature - ageing on lees - the Rolle in stainless steel vats, and the Viognier in a mixture of concrete eggs and stainless steel tanks. This is SPARKLY BRIGHT and DAZZLING with good richness also. The pale yellow colour is elegant and brilliant. On the nose, a discreet subtlety reveals notes of Granny Smith apple, lime and fresh almonds, characteristic of the blend of Rolle and Viognier grapes. On the palate, the wine is full and generous, supported by a lovely acidity and a slight, attractive bitterness on the finish. A mineral touch adds fascinating depth also. The flavours of fresh pear, acacia flower, almond and white peach unfold harmoniously, offering you a refined, beautifully balanced treat of a wine. Unique and utterly, utterly marvellous. A LOT of wine for the money.

El Porvenir
The Torrontes grapes from which this wine is made are grown 1,800 metres above sea level estate vineyards in Cafayete, Salta – a place the Incas once ruled. The name, Munay is the Quechuan word for love. A juicy wine with floral and stone fruit aromas, fresh and well balanced with acidity and minerality. El Porvenir specialise in Torrontes, Malbec, Tannat and red blends from 45-50 year old vineyards which are amongst the highest in the world at 1900m asl and peopled with 20-foot, 200 year old monster cacti. Colour in the reds here is profound due to the exposure to prolonged mountain sunlight, with soft tannins due in part to the extreme diurnal temperature differences. Winemaker Mariano Quiroga Adamo is one of Argentina’s brightest young winemakers and El Porvenir benefits from the sage involvement of renowned winemaker Paul Hobbs, who has been involved here for many years. The company is run by the energetic Lucia Romero-Marcuzzi and the packaging and labels reflect the Inca Cross which is a common symbol in this part of the Andes.

Bodega Tapiz
Clear salmon pink, pink hue, delicate rose, with mineral character, red ripe fruit, strawberry. Refreshing and balanced acidity. A nice elegant Rosé. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately brought to our winery, located just a few miles away from our vineyard. To ensure the best quality, they undergo a double manual selection to separate out the best grapes. The selected grapes immediately enter our special pneumatic press, whose nitrogen blanketing system ensures greater aromatic intensity. Each harvest is fermented in separate tanks, then blended together for the perfect balance and further aging on the lees for extra body. Using proprietary techniques, we are able to gently reduce the wine’s alcohol to 10% while maintaining 100% of the wine’s natural taste. This resulted in an 85 calorie per 5 oz. serving Rosé. The wine is naturally dry with zero sugar, yet imparts the perception of sweetness from the juicy red fruit flavours combined with an elegant minerality. The wine is then cold-stabilized for one week.

Fonseca
In the early 1950’s, the rising demand for Vintage ports led Fonseca to create a second vintage port under the ‘Guimaraens’ label. Blended from slightly less powerful components, Guimaraens Vintage Ports are made in years when the wines are more supple and early maturing though they are drawn from the same three estates. They differ only in that they are more approachable, ready to drink earlier and for their quality and rarity offer exceptional value. “Caramelised black cherry, liquorice, tea leaves. Pruny. A bite of grippy tannins.” IWC 2019 Silver

Domaine des Soulanes
A very special wine from ancient plants of two of the rarest and very best vines for Soualnes terroir, Grenache Gris and Carignan Gris. This really does have everything. It's floral, honeyed orchard and citrus fruits added to its sumptuousness, its layers of texture and bright but not too spiky acidity. Very long with great balance and so much interest. Divine stuff that is here in tiny quantities.

Domaine Noël et Jean-Luc Raimbault
Exemplary Sancerre which we import directly from the Loire Valley ourselves. Linear, mineral driven, citrussy, with a slight herbal edge, and a tangy finish. Everything you could possibly want in a glass. The Raimbault family hail from Sury-en-Vaux, a village encircled by vineyards on the hillsides north-west of Sancerre. In the past they had been coopers, producing oak barrels for the winemakers that surrounded them, tending to their flock of goats, from which they made the local cheese (Crottin de Chavignol), as well as a small parcel of vines. Cheese made more money than wine then, but with the proceeds of their business, they slowly began to expand these holdings. In time, the brothers Noël and Jean-Luc began commercially vinifying their grapes, the domaine’s vineyards currently stretching to 13 hectares and planted to the traditional varieties of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. They have vines across the three major terroirs of Sancerre; Terres Blanche (clay-limestone Kimmeridgian marls), Caillotes (soil rich with Oxfordian limestone pebbles), and so-called Silex (soil rich in flint and chert nodules from the Cretaceous). Their viticulture is characterised by a growing sense of environmental responsibility, moving away from the use of chemical weedkillers, and trying to contain soil erosion through co-plantation and by encouraging local flora and hedgerows. They have been awarded HVE status in recognition of these systematic efforts. Raimbault produces two Pinot Noir bottlings and a Pinot Noir rosé, along with a single white Sancerre cuvee from a blend of the three terroirs. Balanced by these varying soil characters, this is a consummate, flinty and citrus edged Sancerre that was lauded by a Decanter panel tasting as the best value of the entire appellation! This is a wine that pairs extraordinarily well with the local goat’s cheese; it’s almost like it was the family heritage…

Domaine Odyssee
Mas Almes x Domaine Odyssée is Vincent's Carreras' TRULY exciting collab release of 2025. I mean, the collabs are always exciting and excellent quality, but this REALLY surpassed all expectations. We thought the wine Vincent selected would be exciting, but nothing quite set us up for tasting this wine in early May 2025. At CWM we ship some of the very best value aged Roussillon sweet wines. We're very happy to say, here is another outstanding and outstanding value example. Bravo Vincent. Les Larmes du Soleil Rivesaltes Ambré - Hors d'Age - 15 years old, from Malvoisie and Muscat d'Alexandrie From Vincent Carreras: "For three years, between 2018 and 2021, before moving to the (current) Torreilles winery, I was able to set up my suitcases, or rather my vats, with Louis Rigaill, at Mas Almes, who kindly welcomed me. Being in the midst of a transition, I was able to continue structuring my project. At the back of his cellar, there were about forty barrels containing real treasures.... old sweet wines had been sleeping there for over 10 years. Louis allowed me to select the barrels of my choice and create a unique blend. So I thank him for his welcome, his advice, his generosity, and his patience with me over these three years, it's important for me to thank him in my own way, through collaboration. Cheers, Louis! Enjoy your retirement!"
