Adelphi
A Blended Scotch Whisky from Adelphi, perhaps better known as an independent bottler. However, this blend of grain and malt whisky is from its private stock which is kept in a solera system. Though exactly where the whisky hails from is kept rather hush hush, we suspect it contains spirit from all over the shop, from Islay, Speyside and Campbeltown.

Caisteal Chamuis
This expression from Mossburn's Caisteal Chamuis range is a marvellous blended malt Scotch whisky made with Island malts that have been matured for 12 years in refill American oak hogsheads, and then given a finishing period in Oloroso sherry casks. The peaty notes of the Island whiskies blends deliciously with the sweet dried fruit notes from the sherry casks, making for a satisfying expression. The name Caisteal Chamuis comes from a castle that you'll find up on the Isle of Skye, which is a neat connection.

Compass Box
The Circle is based around a parcel of fruity and creamy single malt from the Tamdhu Distillery in Speyside. This is supported by malt whisky from the Clynelish Distillery. A touch of peated malt whisky from an Orkney distillery and a small proportion of a French oak-finished blended malt whisky complete the recipe. Rosey Mitchell is the 2018 winner of The Circle, a programme designed to inspire bartenders around the world. Rosey’s prize? To create a blend with Compass Box founder John Glaser and whiskymaker Jill Boyd. Rosey wanted to make an approachable whisky to be shared with friends, something for the daytime, a whisky with brightness. She called it 'sunshine in a glass.'

Angostura
Named for the year it was casked, Angostura 1919® is a light golden rum aged in charred, used bourbon oak casks and distilled in Angostura’s multi-column continuous still. It was produced using the unique blending techniques developed by the Fernandes family in the 1800’s, the same blend which was salvaged from charred casks from the fire in 1932. An amazing blend of rums aged between 5 and 14 years, Angostura 1919® is a true Trinidadian rum, oaky on the palate, with exotic spices, vanilla, a hint of honey and dried fruits. A luxury sipping rum that matches beautifully with desserts and chocolate.

Compass Box
As part of its 20th anniversary, Compass Box has released this limited edition cask strength bottling of its Peat Monster as a nod to the USA-rooted origin story of the core expression. Peat Monster came about after Compass Box created a whisky for Park Avenue Liquor Shop in New York, which became a hit, and so Peat Monster was born. This expression of the blended malt Scotch sees some of the whisky that makes up the blend finished in virgin American oak barrels, for some extra vanilla and spice.

The Glenallachie Spirits Co
To create the top expression White Heather 21 Years, Walker sourced single malt whisky from Speyside (23%, GlenAllachie I presume), the Highlands (20%) and Islay (4%). This was combined with 53% grain whisky. The spirit spent 18 years in a combination of first-fill American barrels, sherry butts and second fill casks. The married composition was then given an additional three years in PX and Oloroso puncheons alongside Appalachian virgin oak casks. A quality blend. It’s harmonious, reasonably complex and it manages to hide the grain component. The resulting whisky, which is presented at 48% ABV with no added colouring or chill-filtration, perfectly balances gentle peat from the Islay contribution, archetypal Speyside fruity notes, the heather honeyed sweetness of the Highlands, and a rich and rounded foundation from the grain components.

Ardbeg
You would not think it to see it now, but Ardbeg had a difficult time of it for much of the 20th century. The distillery was bought in a joint venture between Hiram Walker and DCL in 1959, both intending to supply their blends. The subsequent years were very successful, but DCL backed out in 1979 (closing many of their other distilleries a few years later), and Hiram Walker then struggled in the 1980s era oversupply when interest is blended Scotch was waning. They closed it down for the majority of the decade. It re-opened briefly in the 1990s before being revived for good by Glenmorangie plc in 1997. This whisky was distilled on 20th February 2013 and aged in single second-fill ex-Manzanilla butt #247. It was bottled at cask strength on 9th September 2021. One of 670 bottles which were made exclusive to Ardbeg Embassies.
