This 10 year old Bas Armagnac is soft and round and displays good dried fruit and sweet nut flavours. It is supplied in the traditional armagnac bottle.
Aroma - Toffee, baked pear, almond and nutmeg
Distillation is with an Armagnac type copper alembic still at around 60 - 62 degrees. The wines are distilled soon after the harvest in order to keep residual tiny lees in suspension
Flavour - A spicy star anise with a sweet lemon tea in the middle mouth which fades to a long angelica crystalised fruit finish

These preciously guarded treasures rest under the vaults of the Chais Paradis, in the underground passages of Mademoiselle's 19th-centuary manor. These forever inimitable vintages, from the oldest to the most recent, are made from Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche, and Colombard grapes. Although it is impossible to reproduce them, they all have one thing in common: each of them bears witness to the extraordinary character of Grande Champagne and to the savoir-faire of the Cognac region perfected over the centuries. These extraordinary cognacs are not blended and are bottled at their natural alcohol content right out of the barrel, without filtration.

Finish: the finish is very strong long and enthusiastic with hints of citrus fruits, herbs and vanilla as well as sweet spiced pastries

Produced on a small estate in the Grande Champagne and aged for over 50 years, this deep, golden cognac has a wonderful aroma of toffee with roasted nut, some spices and just a hint of pineapple.
This cognac has been aged in Limousin barrels for over 50 years in fairly damp cellars. This helps to keep the barrels damp and the spirit in contact with the natural tannins in the oak for longer.
This cognac is double distilled on a small Charentais Alembic still which helps to concentrate the wine flavours during distillation.
Fine cognacs become more complex as they mature. There are flavours of spice and coffee with pineapple in the background.
This family owned firm has been producing calvados from the top cru, Pays d'Auge, for 5 generations. This Reserve Calvados has been aged for at least 3 years, initially in 30 - 40 hl oak barrels but subsequently in smaller, 15 - 20 hl ones. It has a wonderful appley flavour and can be drunk as an aperitif (straight on ice or in a cocktail) or as a digestif served at room temperature to allow enough time to air.
Flavour
Smooth, a mix of apple and wood. It is fresh with minerals and a slightly peppery taste.
In 2020 Ch Pellehaut was named Best Brandy Producer by the IWSC Challenge. Their 5 year old Sélection Armagnac has plenty of vanilla and cinnamon notes with lovely oakiness while the floral notes of Folle Blanche float above. It qualifies as VSOP (minimum 5 years of ageing before release) but does not declare it.

Gabriel Boudier Apricot Brandy is created from fully ripe apricots, which are carefully selected for their aromatic properties, are macerated in brandy. The apricot flavoured spirit is then removed and a small dose of sugar added. The liqueur which results has a perfect taste of apricots.

A fruit-forward Calvados from the wonderful Domaine Dupont over in Normandy. The apples are mixed, crushed, pressed and then fermented, and then finally aged in oak.
A lucky find with a stunning complexity of flavour: butterscotch, cocoa, walnuts and baked apple peel with mandarins and damsons on the tail. This is a rich and beautifully balanced cognac.
A decadent brandy made from wild plums and aged for seven years in small chestnut casks. There are aromas of toasted spice, vanilla beans and stewed fruit on the nose, which lead to plum pudding, apple tart and sandalwood on the palate.
Nusbaumer are an independent, family-owned artisanal distillery in heart of the Alsace. Founded by Jos Nusbaumer in 1947, the distillery is located in Stiege, a small town in the Vosge valleys, to the south-west of Strasbourg. There are several factors that make Stiege an ideal place to distil fruit spirits; there’s exceptional mountain spring water, high altitude allowing lower distillation pressure leading to richer aromas, and a microclimate with significant temperature variations that has a positive impact on fermentation, maceration and ageing.
