Domaine Faiveley
Comprised of grapes picked from a number of Faiveley’s own vineyards throughout Burgundy and also from their partner estates, this is made entirely from Chardonnay. With a brilliant pale green and yellow hue and notes of white flower including Jasmine and Orange Blossom on the nose, this is a bold and generous wine. Well balanced and full of volume, flavours of lemon and honeysuckle are supported with subtle rich buttery notes which pleasantly draw out the finish.

Domaine Remi Jeanniard
Remi Jeanniard’s neighbours say that he and his wife are always in the vineyards; even on 2nd January, they were seen out pruning the vines. Remi has just over 7 hectares of vines in and around Morey-St-Denis. The vines are much older than average, with all of his Vieilles Vignes village bottlings being at least 50 years old. This gives a natural concentration to the wines which are both well structured and elegant. Dried fruits, figs, cherries, currants, and violets. Exciting. Less plush than the jeunes vignes, but more vibrant and intense. Supple tannins.

Chateau La Louviere
100% Sauvignon Blanc from four terroirs: clay, limestone-clay, marl, gravel. 93/100 Jane Anson "Bright Sauvignon Blanc aromatics on the nose, this is good quality. Power, concentration and spliced citrus and slate minerality. Maintains momentum, easy to love. A yield of 31hl/ha, with 10 months ageing on lees with regular stirring in to fatten up the mouthfeel. An impressive La Louvière, stands out from recent vintages at this estate."

Rolly-Gassmann
Rolly-Gassmann is a domaine like no other and has a unique style. It is located at Rorschwihr, a sleepy village on the northern rim of Haut-Rhin. The vineyards are located in Rorschwihr and the neighbouring Rodern and Bergheim. The wines are small masterpieces with very good definition. They all carry the signature of Rolly-Gassmann, a certain shameless, velvety sweetness. The fruit is rich and manages to balance the fruit with a vibrant acidity to form wines that melt on the palate.

Olivier Leflaive
All the grapes come from the communes of Puligny Montrachet and Meursault and the wine is made by the same super-star team who make Leflaive's famed great whites. Some pedigree, some bargain! Smells like a hint of luxury! Indeed I'd say this is more eminently deployable than many of those Greats, in a mid-week context. All the markers are there: vanilla; nuts; mineral; honey; tarragon etc. but all in a reasonably reserved expression. Jancis Robinson OBE MW "Light nose and lots of vivacious, dancing fruit. Olivier seems to have the recipe … and it's fair value. If I found this in a country pub, I’d be delighted..." Les Setilles was served at Meghan and Harry's wedding.

Chateau Beau Site
Exhibiting aromas of minty berries, spices and licorice, the 2021 Beau Site is a medium-bodied, lively and nicely balanced wine. It derives from a gravel "croupe" near Calon-Ségur. "Beau-Site" means beautiful site and lies just behind Grand Cru Château Calon-Segur on one of Medoc's highest points with fantastic views over the river Gironde. It was originally classified as a Cru Bourgeois Superieur in 1932 but in 1966 Beau Site was reclassified as a Cru Grand Bourgeois Exceptionnel. The Castéja family, who also own Château Batailley and Château Trotte Vieille, bought the château in 1955. The château has nearly 100 hectares of vines with an average age of 35 years. Beau-Site's 18th century underground cellar is one of the oldest in the Médoc and presents the perfect maturing conditions for a wine that is vinified with the same care and technique as a Grand Cru Classé. Beau-Site's wine is full of power and temperament, a typical Saint-Estèphe with tannins allowing for keeping this wine for some years.

Vincent Girardin
Rully, a quaint town situated in the Northern Chalonnaise is great value for Burgundy, only a few miles from the Cote de Beaune where prices are much higher. Vincent Girardin's Rully is 100% Chardonnay and is fruity, lively and round, fatty and long. On the nose there are aromas of honeysuckle and elderberry, white peach and hints of flint. A lovely full mouthfeel with vanilla and oak leading to a polished finish.

Chateau La Louviere
Fermented in steel or concrete tanks. Aged 12 months in barrel, 20% new. Deep cherry red and an impression of freshness in the aroma. Still lots of pure dark fruit, stony cassis and a hint of oak. On the palate, this is refined in texture, fresh in a warm year, with a touch of chocolate sweetness on the finish that seems to be from the oak. Elegantly structured by the tannins, tightly wound even with that chocolate smoothness on the finish. Needs time and should age thanks to the balance between fruit and structure.

Domaine Ragot
This is a beautiful White Burgundy from one of the less fashionable areas, Givry in the Cote Chalonnaise, which is why it is such good value. Showing a degree of maturity and therefore complexity, it is rounded and smooth with deliciously creamy Chardonnay fruit and an attractive spicy-buttery hint on the aftertaste. Lovely!

Vincent Girardin
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "The 2021 Santenay 1er Cru Le Beaurepaire is especially good, and the vintage would have appeared to have played to this site's strengths. Delivering musky aromas of orange oil, bergamot, nutmeg, peach and pear mingled with hints of freshly baked bread, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and charming, with a fleshy, enveloping core of fruit, lively acids and an open but precise profile." 94 pts

Vincent Girardin
The palate is opulent between tension and finesse whil leaving a fresh and mineral finish. Good and strong structure in mouth. Robert parker Notes : The 2020 Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes Dessus is brilliant, unfurling in the glass with aromas of pear, orange oil, white flowers and nutmeg. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, with racy acids and a layered, textural mid-palate, it concludes with a saline finish.

Domaine Comelade
Lionel Comelade produces this stunning wine from ancient vine Macabeu and Grenache Gris grown on amazing black and white schist soil vineyards between Estagel and Latour de France in the Roussillon. Both white grapes were harvested later in the season in 1990 with high sugar levels. The grapes were partially fermented in concrete vats and then neutral brandy was added to stop fermentation and keep natural sweetness in the wine. Then the wine was passed to second use oak barrels and left in the cellar for 32 years before bottling (to order). No ‘topping up’ of the barrels occurred in the 33 years. The wine is tremendous, possibly surpassing the 1988. It is ‘ambre’ in colour. A bright, wild nose with orange rind, orange oil and warm spices. The palate is thrilling with great complexity and depth with thrilling, wild acidity which really charms. Astonishing and quite unique. The wine is one of the best value fortified wines in the world. 33 years of age, so interesting and delicious. A steal at this price.

Famille Perrin
Domaine du Clos des Tourelles is located below the village of Gigondas. This historic 3 hectare vineyard of very old Grenache on limestone soils with a marly-sandy matrix is the last Clos still existing in Gigondas. Leading the wines of Gigondas to new heights, Dom. de Clos des Tourelles is made in tiny quantities in a boutique winery in the centre of the village. Ruby red in colour. A meaty nose at first, then cassis, dusty cocoa, and floral potpourri. The oak is well held. The palate is quite tight at first, with fresh acidity, slightly sour cherry flavours, and a herbal backbone. Then all becomes warm and fruity, with dusty tannin, and a long savoury finish. Layered and complex.

Domaine Lebreuil
A very well regarded wine from a great producer. Slightly old-school style but lovley purity with a savoury fruit quality. A relative bargain.
