Parker 92/100... cherry tart, dried black fig, hazelnut... Asian spice, dark chocolate notes. Supreme, delicate, a joy.

Cheeky tawny from the King of Tawny Dirk Niepoort. Nutty, slippery, yummy.  This one is the half-bottle size, for when you don't need all that much port.

Dark red in colour with a fresh vibrant aroma of dark fruits which follows through on the palate along with an almost mineral character, a youthful wine with good extract and great balance, offering superb "drinkability". Ready to drink now after a meal on its own or with soft cheeses.

Aged in wooden barrels, the juice is deliberately exposed to gradual oxidation and evaporation resulting in a mellow golden-brown colour.  This oxidation evokes nutty flavours to the wine, which is then blended by the winemaker to match the house style.  Sweet to medium dry these wines are typically enjoyed as a dessert wine. 

90% Tinta Negra Mole, 10% Verdelho. A golden, medium dry wine. An aperitif or an ideal accompaniment for consommés, pâtés, particularly pâté de foie gras, cheeses or cakes. A very good all purpose wine.

This wine is a remarkable example of the Noval style. Treated exactly like a Vintage Port with only noble grape varieties from the Quinta, trodden by foot and unfiltered. Its main difference is that it is aged for five years in casks instead of the two years typical of Vintage Ports. Definitely an LBV with a difference, with fine structured tannins, great freshness and purity of fruit.

The Mol-B Vinho Branco Frisante is made from shows gentle, floral and fruity aromas, whilst the palate is soft with a sparkle and bright grapey fruit with a touch of fresh mango and citrus to the fresh, delightful finish. Excellent as an aperitif and also pairs well with fish, shellfish, salads and grilled vegetables.

Lively and very fruity aroma with vanilla notes. The flavour balances the aroma highlighting a strong structure framed by lightly toasted tannins.

Intense and beautifully concentrated. Raspberries and raisins on the nose lead to a fruit-basket of flavours on the palate, supported by silky tannins and a strong sweet finish.

Some fizz (relatively modest), low (10%) alcohol and a bit of sugar (only 5 grams per litre– barely over the legal “dry” limit and rather low for this style). It is a blend of 40% Arinto, 20% Azal, 20% Avesso and 20% Loureiro. This is the winery’s entry-level wine and it offers amazing value. We've made the decision to offer the wine in both cork and screwcap.

Traditional Douro grape varieties Bright red colour with a golden rim. A rich and aromatic nose made up of dried fruit, hazelnut and walnut, well combined with hints of spice. In the mouth, intense, smooth and delicious flavours of dried fruit are offset by a fresh note of candied orange peel. Good structure, fine balance and remarkable acidity. A pleasant and enduring finish.

Rusty ruby in colour with a tawny edge. The nose offers raspberry, raisins, toffee, cherry cough drop and mocha aromas. Medium weight, warming and dry on the palate, this one grew on me by day four when it had mellowed a bit. Laser like acidity keeps it in check, with flavours of strawberry, citrus, a back drop of pecan and some mild-mannered mouth coating tannins. The finish is long but shows a bit of the warming spirit.

An appealing golden colour, with an amber rim. Elegant and complex, it shows aromas of spice, with prevailing notes of dried fruit and elegant hints of wood and honey. Smooth and round on the palate, it shows complexity amidst intense flavours of dried fruit. An excellent finish.

Black/purple colour. A lovely complex nose with excellent sweet and rich fruit aromas such as black cherry, black currant and blackberry. On the palate it is packed with solid, structured, rich and intense black fruit flavours and an admirably long finish. A fabulous way to end a lunch or dinner, Graham's 2004 Quinta dos Malvedos pairs wonderfully with chocolate desserts, such as chocolate mousse.

Silky, elegant red with berried fruits, rich and complex palate and well integrated new oak. David Baverstock, the godfather of modern Portuguese wines, is the winemaker. Blend of Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, Trincadeira, Cabernet Sauvignon. 12 months in American (60%) and French (40%) oak barrels. After bottling, the wine aged 8 months in the bottle.

Delicate orange-greenish coloured. Its splendid bouquet is a complex marriage between dried fruits, spices and fine wood notes. The taste is dominated by rich and concentrated flavours with a long and velvety finish.

Attractive golden colour. Elegant and complex, there is sweet spice, and with woody and earth notes. Brown sugar and caramel are perfectly rounded with a clean and moreish finish.

This white Port is a revelation; fresh, quite dry and moreish. Flavours of tangy lime, salt, cream, almond and grapefruit make this a great aperitif. You can even mix this with tonic, ice, lemon and mint for a super-quaffable alternative to a gin & tonic.
