From the 2023 vintage the Brajkovitch family have blended the grapes from their new Rays Road vineyard (Hawke's Bay) with some outstanding richer Kumeu fruit with delicious results. The wine displays a bright cherry red /burgundy colour with lifted red fruit aromas. On the palate the wine is cool, round and fruity and with a nice hint of chalky tannin that keeps the wine dry and refreshing.

A heady fragrance of peony and violets, red cherry and pomegranate, overlaid with a smoky, earthy savouriness. The character reflects the perfume and delicacy of the vintage, whilst retaining its innate muscular tannin structure that ensures it will age very well. The palate shows great intensity, complexity and structure.

How can one not love that instant bath of flowers, fruits and spice that this wine delivers? No holding back, no reticence at all, just a wash of Cornish Point indulgence - all leading to a flowing silky finish. Through the entire palate there is a gentle mineral seam that stops anything from tipping over into excess, so it seduces rather than hollers. There will be no lack of complexity to come for those with patience, but it is very hard to resist now. Deep coloured, the wine exhibits dark ripe fruit characters as well as truffle, spice and subtle toasted oak on the palate. A fulsome, structured and well rounded Pinot Noir with a soft acidity and generous mouthfeel

A full and rich bouquet, this wine is mouth-filling, ripe and supple with a great complexity. Dark cherries and plums combine with soft tannins to give a well-rounded finish. The wine comes from four vineyards throughout Marlborough, all lending different characters to wine. The Twin Valleys portion (62%) from the cooler Fareham Road area gives us the palate structure that we require, offering finesse to the back-palate. The portion from Ward (13%) approx 45 kms south of Blenheim provides delicate lifted fruit notes whilst the two hillside portions from The Wrekin (13%) and Calrossie (12%) add depth to the palate, with rich black fruit characters.

A vivid nose of deep florals: dark roses, violets, and an undertow of ripe red fruit. The palate really shows the best of each vineyard that makes up the cuvée. Sometimes it can be hard to find a word to match what seems so clear to the senses. The nose is dark, as is the colour, beguiling, but restrained. There is a stature to the palate here; a sort of authority to the way it stands back and allows you to explore its detail. A definite sprig of herbs, chocolate notes, but still so transparent that every nuance is revealed. It seems extraordinary that this is just the second time we’ve made MacMuir as a single vineyard release: it’s Felton Road, to be sure, but in a different dimension. A lovely bouquet, youthful and vibrant, crunchy and fresh with scents of red berry fruits and a light savoury dried herb touch. A layer of new oak and woody spice qualities adds bredth. On the palate a dry wine, youthful and textured, dry and savoury, a core of red berry fruits and paprika smoke spices. Well made with plenty of tannin and acidity for mouthfeel. Best drinking from 2025 through 2031+ Expressive aromatics, with flint, Meyer lemon, and a subtle short bread note. A well-rounded palate with volume and mouthfeel. Hawksdrift is a family owned vineyard, located in the Dillons Point region of Marlborough. Shelter from the Wither Hills range, contributes to a long, hot ripening season, meaning, the fruit is left to ripen when other, cooler areas have shut down. Aromas of fresh gooseberry, passionfruit and papaya. The palate is full of tropical fruits and citrus characters which continue through to a long refreshing finish.

The Kerruick family bought this small 5 hectare farm near Bendigo at the beginning of the century, originally planting only Pinot Noir.
