Lur Saluces
The de Fargues ’95 has a ripe, generous, quintessential de Fargues nose with tangy marmalade, Seville orange and quince jus, though it does not quite have the razor-sharp delineation of a top-flight wine from the estate. The palate is medium-bodied with a citrus lemon, orange peel and fresh apricot. Like the nose, it would benefit from more tension and animation towards the finish, yet it is certainly generous and should drink well for years to come.

Olivier Cazenave et Chateau
The Bel a Ciao name was taken from the name of a revolutionary song, Oliviers wine making can be quite “revolutionary” and he doesn’t like sticking to the rule book! The wine has refreshing citrus aromas such as tangerine as well as wild flowers. The mouth is fresh, lively and complex with notes of fresh tropical and citrus fruits. A slightly spicy, long lemon finish. The lack of sulfites used in the vineyard and in production combined with careful winemaking, this wine has incredibly low sulfite levels in the finished wine.

Chateau Suduiraut
CWM Rating: First Class! 54% Sémillon, 46% Sauvignon Blanc picked 25 August to 2 September. 25% aged in oak barrels (30% new). Great aromatic aromas, with Semillon beeswax, Sauvignon citrus and white flowers. This has some heft, salinity and big citrus flavours, very well balanced and long. Drink 2022-2026 David Williams, Observer "Château Suduiraut, for example, is known for being one of the very best producers in the Bordeaux sweet-wine district of Sauternes. But its Suduiraut Blanc Sec 2020 (£19.50, cambridgewine.com) is a nervy, luminously bright, verdant and citrussy example of dry Bordeaux " June 2021

Chateau Baret
Château Baret is a beautiful eighteenth century chartreuse that was bought by the Ballande family in 1867. It sits very close to Bordeaux city, and benefits from the extra warmth that its proximity offers. The white is made from a small 10 acre vineyard and is mainly excellentmade from Sauvignon Blanc. 20% new oak is used, which makes the white quite rich and very moreish.

Chateau des Antonins
The 2020 vintage allows the Sauvignon Blanc to really express itself. On the nose are pronounced aromas of grapefruit, tropical fruit and mint with notes of boxwood. The Semillon adds texture and richness to the palate and the finish is refreshing and long.

Chateau Suduiraut
This dry white Bordeaux from a great producer in Sauternes has a new name in 2021, Lions de Suduiraut Sec. Half of the wine is aged in oak barrels, the other half in stainless steel. With bright acidity and plenty of lovely citrus fruit the wine is ready to drink but will keep for 4 years.

Chateau Argadens
It shows a lovely pale yellow colour with greenish tinges. Fresh and expressive on the nose, with superb notes of pink grapefruit, mango and some slightly toasted hints. Its fine balance on the palate is remarkable, with a lot of roundness and body, as well as pure, elegant freshness. The flavours of Sauvignon are delicate and persistent, giving this wine length and vibrancy.
