A beautiful, elegant nose but with plenty of concentration - quite a dark style with a gorgeous floral lift. The fruit is pure and direct, and the balsamic note gives the wine real character which is quite unexpected in a wine so young. This 2022 shall do really well a few years down the line, but it is undoubtedly utterly delightful right now. Again, outstanding.

Always stellar value, and delightful in this fresher vintage 2021 bottling. Classic Northern Syrah nose and delicious medium weight utterly delicious and satisfying palate are certainly in check here on this, yet again, brilliant effort. The best value everyday-drinking Northern Rhone Syrah. There is good reasion why this wine has appeared 'by the glass' in many fine restaurants around the globe for many years.

Terres Falmet
A blend of mourvèdre, grenache noir, syrah and carignan. From the south of the Saint Chinian appellation. There's a slightly confected feel to the nose, but also some stony minerality. Very silky, fresh flavours and textures in the mouth. Lovely peppery spice on the finish. Full bottle 1,150 g. Certified HVE. Mourvèdre, Grenache, Syrah and Carignan from steep, pesticide-free vineyards in the south of St-Chinian. "A touch of glacé cherry on the nose, crushed ripe raspberries, fine-crushed wet gravel. Unusually fine tannins – this really plays in the mouth on tiptoes. Lovely carpaccio layers between the cool red fruit, threaded with rosemary and sansho pepper and sarsaparilla. A particularly delicate expression of St-Chinian, but that's not to say it's insubstantial. If you prefer your reds elegant, this is for you". Good Value. Peter Lehman
This wine is a deep purple in colour with a bright crimson edge. The nose displays lifted aromas of plum and red berries with notes of vanilla and coconut from the American oak. Red berry spice and vanilla continue on the full-bodied palate that marry with ripe velvety tannins and a softly structured finish. The grapes were picked in the cool of the night to retain freshness levels in the berries. Upon arrival at the winery, they were immediately crushed into stainless steel vats and fermented for 7 to 10 days. After pressing off skins, the wine was then matured in new (25%) and older American hogsheads for 15 months prior to bottling and release.

d'Arenberg
Low yielding, old vines are picked in small parcels and remain separate until final blending. Small batches of grapes are gently crushed and then transferred to five tonne headed down open fermenters. Foot treading is undertaken two thirds of the way through fermentation. The wine is then basket pressed and transferred to a mixture of new and used oak barriques to complete fermentation. The barrel ferments are on aged lees, there is no racking until final blending and no fining or filtration. Dead Arm is a vine disease caused by the fungus Eutypa Lata that randomly effects vineyards all over the world. One half, or an 'arm' of the vine slowly becomes reduced to dead wood. That side may be lifeless and brittle, but the grapes on the other side display amazing intensity.

This Syrah blend with soft black fruits and spice has been shaped by the sunbaked rocky soils of the unmistakable and very definate Faugeres terroir. A herbal, spicy bouquet is followed by youthful red cherries and supple mineral character derived from the schist rich soils. One of our greatest value wines.
