A nose of honey and peanuts with a light hint of spice, followed by a palate of subtle smoke and sweet sherry and caramel notes. The finish is rich and buttery.

A gloriously vanilla-forward Glenlossie from James Eadie. Glenlossie is mainly used in blending, and is rarely seen as a single malt. This particular bottling was aged first fill bourbon casks and recharred casks. The Blue Boar on the bottle refers to Jame Eadie, who owned the Blue Boar pub in 1891 as part of his brewery and whisky blending business.

After success of previous releases by James Eadie we are very excited to try another Caol Ila. This release is 9 years old and bottled from a small batch of 3 refill bourbon hogsheads. Caol Ila is one of my favourite distilleries and has always been interesting to try in independent bottlers. The younger versions have commonly had an exciting wilder peat driven character.

This indie bottling of Strathmill from James Eadie has taken on a wealth of colour from a 19-month finish in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt. The whisky was initially distilled at Speyside's Strathmill distillery back in May 2009, eventually yielding 617 bottles. Notes of dark cherry, rich dried fruit and a hint of coffee bean.

Finished in a first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead for 7 months, this 12-year-old single malt is from one of Scotland's lesser-known distilleries, Teaninich. Notes of liquorice and Christmas cake with some orange peel and clove to begin with, followed by dark chocolate shavings, chunky fudge and mandarin. Just 246 bottles were drawn from the cask.
