Domaine de Pellehaut
From Gascony's leading privately-owned wine estate, this great rosé has a lovely clove spiciness and makes for an excellent dinner wine. Pale pink with salmon tints. Very expressive nose of raspberry to jammy strawberry with a hint of rhubarb and mint, evocative of red-fruit ices and sorbets. All that’s missing from the palate is the sugar in this rounded, lingering and refreshing fruit coulis. A pleasant wine whatever the occasion.

All the fun of Pinot Grigio plus a lovely rose-petal scent. Smells sweet, but actually totally dry. Great aperitif.

Domaine de Triennes
The pale colour, vibrant strawberry fruit and refreshing finish make this perfect for a sunny afternoon, but there is hidden depth here. Subtle spice notes and a juicy mid-palate make it ideal for spiced food; its cleansing acidity and stony texture pair beautifully with salads and cold cuts. Domaine de Triennes was founded in 1989 by two superstars of Burgundy, Jacques Seyss of Domaine Dujac and Aubert de Villaine of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. This estate, high up in the hills of the Var region of Provence, is fast establishing itself as one of the finest in the region. Situated deep in truffle country, vines have been grown here for two thousand years. The name of the estate comes from the triennia, the festivities held in honour of Bacchus that took place every three years in Roman times. This 40 hectare domaine boasts a range of grape varieties including Syrah, Viognier, Carignan, Cinsault, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The cool nights and slow ripening produces top quality fruit that is shaped into ripe but extremely elegant wines by Jacques's talented son, Jeremy, who runs the estate.Domaine de Triennes have an organic Ecocert certification.

Famille Perrin
From the beautiful National Park which straddles Provence, between Avignon and Aix-en-Provence, this Rosé is very provencale. Light, airy, graceful and very drinkable. The fragrant nose reveals hints of red fruit and cherries. Lively and long in the mouth, it is very aromatic with great acidity that brings freshness.

Foncalieu
Really tasty. Full colour, but light on it's feet. Lots of staisfaction here. This wine is soft pressed after five hours of skin contact to produce a light pink wine. Fermentation occurs under controlled temperatures in stainless-steel tanks. Five days resting on the lees are followed by two days of cold settling. The vines that produce this wine are grafted from Argentine Malbec, which of course comes originally from Cahors in France. The wine maker is Argentine, and he searched all over the Languedoc for a place that would produce the characteristically bright and intense Malbec of his home country. He found this possibility in partnership with winegrowers from the Coteaux d’Ensérune, who follow a 1,000-year-old viticultural tradition marked by an historically un-French willingness to develop varieties from other horizons. The unique soils on the Montandy plateau outside Béziers are red, chalky and acidic with traces of iron. This combined with the classic Mediterranean climate, make the area an ideal home for Malbec The nose is intense with concentrated red berry aromas mixed with hints of springtime flowers. The expressive palate is bursting with gorgeous, ripe fruit followed by a bright, tangy finish. Pair with Mediterranean cuisine like fish with Provençal sauce and seafood paella or try with grilled chicken and fish. Also delightful as an aperitif.

JP & Benoit Droin
From 5 different climats that saw 15% of new and one-year old wood. An interesting and relatively broad-ranging nose includes notes of white pepper, iodine, quinine and pretty floral scents. The plump, round and fleshy flavors possess a beguiling texture but not the same intensity and particularly so on the borderline fat finish. To be clear, this is by no means heavy or lacking vibrancy, but it seems clear that it should be drunk on the earlier side compared to many of these 1ers. The Droins have been producing wines in Chablis for nearly 400 years (their history as vignerons goes back at least to 1620). Benoît represents the14th generation of Droins and is one of the most dynamic winemakers in the region. His father Jean-Paul put the domaine on the map but perhaps went too far down the road of new oak barrels. The domaine owns 13 hectares of vineyards and produces 14 different wines, including Petit Chablis, Chablis, 7 Premiers Crus and 5 Grands Crus. Benoît runs a more sophisticated operation from a large modern winery almost in the shadow of the grands crus. He has revised his pruning system and significantly reduced yields. In the cellar the principal change has been away from new oak.

Domaine des Trinités
Possibly the last Rosé to be produced at Trinités? The wine has always been produced for the home market, for the restaurants and bars, in all the major cities. But since the market for such in the last few years has dried up/been somewhat difficult, vigneron Simon Coulshaw has decided to take a break for a while. This 2020 is unlike any previous effort, mostly explained below in Tamlyn Currin's note for jancisrobinson.com. It really is truly wonderful Rosé with real minerality, precision and class. an absolute stunner. 40% Cinsault, 40% Grenache Noir, 20% Mourvèdre. Hand-picked, organically and biodynamically farmed grapes. 100% saignée ie no pressing, just bleeding from the tanks. Winemaker Simon Coulshaw points out that the distinct difference in colour between the 2019 and 2020 (the latter being distinctly lighter in colour) is purely down to the maturity of the anthocynanins in the grapes. In 2019 he left the grapes for an hour and the colour was already dark; in 2020 it spent three or four hours and still didn't throw much colour. Bone dry (less than 0.5 g RS). "This is an outstanding rosé. If only Languedoc producers would sit up and take notice – this is what you can do with rosé. Real wine. Real depth, real texture, acidity so full and exciting and ripe that it made me want to helter skelter, go boogie on Brighton Pier, lick seashells dipped in raspberry sherbet, make cherry bombs filled with lime sorbet and eat them sitting fully clothed in the sea with salt on my tongue and fingers and toes. All of which sounds like fun fun fun, but don't be deceived. This is a serious wine, framed in spice and pink-grapefruit-peel bitterness. Very Good Value (TC)". The nose is refined and aromatic, with aromas of white peach and citrus fruits and a touch of minerality. The palate is fruity and crunchy with great length. A well balanced wine, between roundness and freshness.

Miraval
The world super-star of Provence pink. Delicate, complex and pale. Rare and sought-after. Summer in a glass. This stunning 17th-century estate was bought by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in 2009. After many millions spent restoring the vineyards and winery this world-class, super-pale, delicate but intensely flavoured pink became an instant classic - rated by Wine Spectator as the best rosé in the world, with early vintages sold out on release. Winemaking is by our old chum the famed Marc Perrin – whose family owns the stellar Chateauneuf–du-Pape estate Beaucastel, which has famously practised organic farming since the 1950s.

Flint Vineyards
This is possibly Flint Vineyard’s pinkest and fruitiest Charmat Rosé to date, and, for the first time, the blend includes a portion of Pinot Noir and Bacchus. The 2022 is bursting with confected strawberries and cream. But it’s not just all fruit: there is a slight praline nuttiness in the background, which gives the wine some complexity. On the palate it is crisp and bursting with red fruits. Very drinkable as an aperitif and perfect for celebrations. A really lovely British drop playing the Italians at their own game. Well done Flint

Bodega Tapiz
Black forest fruits, wild raspberries and black pepper on the nose, with soft yeasty notes, spice and red fruits on the palate. There is a zing of acidity that brings something entirely new to the red grape, lifting its weight. Ageing : one year on the yeast after the second fermentation in steel, allowing the powerful fruit to do the talking.

Domaine des Soulanes
Like a great Provence, but one from an actual great terroir and not just sandy soils. This year Syrah and Carignan joining the Grenache and Mourvedre of the outstanding debut in 2020 which garnered high praise from critics and customers. In the words of one customer "“You’ll be pleased to know you weren’t wrong with that Rosé (Dom. des Soulanes Cuvee Rosé). It is one of the best I have ever tasted and I’ve tasted a few, many with a much bigger price tag. Actually I prefer it to Garrus (£100), d’Esclans (£30). How much more have you got?”" Published on decanter.com in June 2022: Domaine des Soulanes, Rosé, Côtes du Roussillon, Languedoc-Roussillon, France 2021 "The delicate, somewhat restrained nose hides a fine wine on the palate. It's a slightly darker pink in colour in the glass, too. Exuberant and playful in the mouth, with bowls of fresh cranberries, white raspberries and goji berries. A tangy citrus and lemon thyme note on the finish leaves you suitably refreshed and ready for the next sip. This may even have some intriguing potential for ageing. Certified organic, hand harvested". 90/100 Drinking Window 2022 - 2025
