Bin Ends can be your best wine friends! Originally 'bin ends' referred to the last few bottles in a wine cellar 'bin' (area where a wine was stored). We use it to mean some of our favourite wines which are sadly coming to an end of vintage. When they're gone they're gone and we are happy to give a discount in order to make room for the new vintage. Quality is assured on this great selection.
A fantastic rosé from California's flagship variety. Delicate ripe watermelon, appealing strawberry and a hint of dried cranberry swirl together with a gentle sweetness and a crisp, balanced finish. Try with grilled prawns or seared salmon steaks.
Natural Petit Verdot raised in amphora by vigneron Simon Bertschinger. The winery is based in Fos, but the vineyards are just south of Faugeres in the clay foothills. Simon is doing some remarkabke stuff with some interesting grape varieties. Bright and vigourous but with depth and focus. Brilliant wine.
Guy Vanlanker's best cuvée (and still under £20 - one of the best wines in the Languedoc!) from low yielding Syrah and Grenache vines. 24 months in old oak gives the wine time to shed its tannic cloak. This is a wine of power, elegance and depth, a real Grand Cru of the region.
This is a pale yellow wine with golden highlights. It offers aromas of tropical fruits surrounded by gentle wood notes. It is fresh and rounded in the mouth, with great intensity; the fruit flavours found in the nose mingle with exquisite touches of vanilla and caramel.
Silver Medal winner for this Merlot-based red wine that is packed with flavour and very well balanced already. Lots of plum and blackberry primary flavours, soft tannins and a nice lick of acidity that keeps the wine energetic.
Mineral, taught. Fine and long. One of the unsung whites of the Roussillon. A blend of Grenache Gris, Grenache Blanc, Carignan Gris and Carignan Blanc. Outstanding wine. Ages gracefully for 10++ years. Beautiful vineyards that are beautifully worked.
Outstanding. Floral, herbal and gorgeous bright red and black fruit on the nose, The palate is divine with it's exquisite purity and balance. Great at the table with both savoury and sweet dishes.

Domaine des Soulanes, Grenat, Maury, Languedoc-Roussillon, France 2021
"Super ripe and fruity aromas, piles of cherries, plums and currants. Mouth-watering and succulent, with great freshness encircling the sweetness. The fortification is well integrated and it has tempting structural tannins and good freshness, making it very vinous. A great wine to experiment with food pairings across the spectrum of courses - from savoury to sweet".

'It's apple' ÉS Poma is a Mistelle made with Grenache from the Empordà and apple juice from Girona, fortified with brandy. Green apple aromas, worth highlighting are its elegance and very clean aromas. It has volume on the palate, and is fresh, offering a fine and silky mouthfeel.
Energy is a word used a lot by the finest Roussillon growers. We don't think there has been a finer example than this extraordinary wine from the freres Danjou. The 2020 is more 'Cote-Rotie' than the 'Crozes like' 2018. A thrilling wine.
A blend of Genache Blanc, Gris and Noir, from ancient 90 year old vines in the ancient and quite amazing 'C|os des Escounils' that the brothers are developing and working on re-establishing it's other potential vineyard areas. This is beautiful, racy, elegant wine that is softly textured and very ?modern? in its freshness and balance.
The Montesquiou family have been a source of Jurancon wines for generations, today it is run by brothers Sébastien and Fabrice who have raised the quality of the estate to a new level. The brothers employ many of the techniques of biodynamic viticulture so that no insecticides and herbicides are used.
This blend of local varietals Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng and Petit Courbu is fermented and aged on lees in stainless steel for 4 months. 2020 was a really good vintage for white wines in the South West of france with a hot dry summer following a wet spring. This dry white has great aromas of lime, orange blossom and cut grass, a refreshing acidity and delicious peachy flavours. Genuinely complex and terrific value for a wine of such quality.
This is an astonishing and almost perfect expression of Gewurztraminer; floral, smoky and spicy, then terrific concentration and balance and length, with some juicy sweetness detectable and adding to the enjoyment of the whole. Very, very fine.
The sedimentary limestone geology, mostly located on the Vosges mountains foothills in Alsace, has always been the prime choice for producing long lived and structured Gewurztraminer wines. The presence of clay, more or less important, brings a cooler element in the soil, slowing down the ripeness process and preserving better acidity. The presence of limestone influences the aromatic profile and texture of the wine. They become more spicy, less floral, with a recognisable tighter tannic structure so crucial for the balance of the wine. Gewurztraminer, more than any other in Alsace, requires an accomplished skin ripeness. Failing so can end up in an over aromatic, not complex and bitter wine. The quality of the terroir will help greatly, but so does harvesting later! Since the acidity is naturally low, harvesting later isnt affecting the wine as much as other grapes that would suffer more from acidity loss. All the grapes going into this wine are sourced from the estate's top single vineyards or Grands Crus, where they use the 'younger' vines.
Pale yellow colour. The nose shows a restraint, almost mineral, smoky aromatic expression, so typical from a limestone soil. It eventually opens up and reveals ripe citrus, exotic fruits in a very elegant way. The palate shows a surprising freshness and acidity, and finishes with a balanced delicate sweetness. Clearly this wine will benefit from further ageing in order to allow it to express its full potential.
Rolly-Gassmann is a domaine like no other and has a unique style. It is located at Rorschwihr, a sleepy village on the northern rim of Haut-Rhin. The vineyards are located in Rorschwihr and the neighbouring Rodern and Bergheim. The wines are small masterpieces with very good definition. They all carry the signature of Rolly-Gassmann, a certain shameless, velvety sweetness. The fruit is rich and manages to balance the fruit with a vibrant acidity to form wines that melt on the palate.
"Comboi", is a local Valencian expression that is used when a group of people come together to have a good time, full of enthusiasm and joy, a bit like the wine! This is a Pet Nat lightly sparkling wine created "metodo ancestral" from 100% Bobal grapes. Strawberry coloured fizz made with minimal intervention, offering up fine bubbles, aromas of red fruit and brioche notes. An enticing bitter dry twist on the finish adds freshness and makes this perfect to serve with food.
A rare bottling from the cellars at Soulanes of a barrel of fortified Grenache Blanc that was left alone for 16 years with no topping up. The wine is amber in colour now. The nose is wild, thrilling and utterly complex. The palate is bright, wild, long and quite brilliant. Here in tiny quantities. Grab now.
This is a purple-red wine with hints of violet. It offers red fruit aromas intermingled with spice, mocha and vanilla. In the mouth, there are smooth and silky tannins which together provide a long, pleasant finish with touches of mature fruits.
This wine is deep red in colour with violet highlights. It offers intense aromas of red fruits and plums, overlaid with pleasant notes of wood. It tastes fruity on the palate, with rounded tannins, which, together with a delicious acidity, go to make up a long, delightful finish with plenty of mature fruits.
