John Livingstone-Learmonth, Drink Rhone Outstanding Crozes Hermitage from a wonderful site on kaolin (bright white clay) at 330m elevation on Château de Larnage at Larnage. A beautiful, elegant nose but with plenty of concentration - quite a dark style with a gorgeous floral lift. The fruit is pure and direct, and the balsamic note gives the wine real character which is quite unexpected in a wine so young. This 2022 shall do really well a few years down the line, but it is undoubtedly utterly delightful right now. Again, outstanding.

Very rare, very low production. One of the legendary white wines of the Roussillon grown at elevation (500m) in a vineyard called 'Le Soula' (the name adopted by the neighbouring estate Eric Laguerre was once involved with) high in Saint-Martin-de-Fenouillet, on granite soils. Mineral, taught, fine and long with beautiful texture. A blend of Marsanne, Roussanne, Rolle, Grenache Blanc and Maccabeu. Outstanding wine which can age gracefully for 25++ years. Beautiful vineyards that are beautifully worked by the master Eric Laguerre. After first visiting the vineyard back in September 2009, we are very happy to now be importing the wines from Domaine Laguerre exclusively to the UK market.

Outstanding value Ventoux that is grown on soils of hard cretaceous limestone, limestone scree and alluvium at an average altitude of 450 meters, at the foot of Ventoux, the southern slope. 90% Grenache, 10 % Syrah. A brilliant ruby colour with pretty purple highlights. Intense and expressive nose of cherries and raspberries, fresh floral notes with a touch of thyme and white pepper. On the palate it has lovely weight and complexity and a lovely balance of flavours with a brilliant stony minerality on the wonederful fisnish. Serve at 17°C and to be enjoyed however you want. Another outstanding value wine from the ridiculously good Dominique.

Organically farmed 30++ year old vines of Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave trained using the traditional pergola system deliver beautiful stonefruit with a lemon lift along with a touch of sweet almond and gorgeous aromatic, leafy herbs. Absolutely spot-on Soave! SO DELICIOUS.

From a pebbly vineyard located on the sandy banks deposited by the river Ouvèze. A beautiful mix of indigenous, rare and wonderful cepages (Grenache Noir, Aramon, Counoise and Oeillade) vinified whole-bunch with a short maceration and then 6 months breeding in concrete vat produce a relaxed, supple, savoury and classy drinking and tapas wine. A great introduction to this most exciting of estates based in Vacqueyras and Gigondas. Serve cool (16c).

The 2022 vintage of this extraordinary wine was awarded Tre Bicchieri in Gambero Rosso 2025 edition. Beautiful, direct wine with tension and intense, spicy stonefruit and citrus fruit which is tangy, salty and stony. Brilliant, brilliant wine. The Casale vineyard is outside of the Classico zone, but consistently produces one of Soave’s most heralded and best loved wines. The fifty year old vines on volcanic soil give very low yields producing a wine of great balance and real interest. The grapes are hand-picked, sorted and de-stemmed before being fermented in temperature-controlled steel vats. Winemaking is hands off and the fruit speaks directly of this wonderful, carefully worked site. Outstanding stuff.

A new Vacqueyras 2023 from d'Ourea - 100% old vine Grenache loveliness.

Natural, biodynamic and vegan. Grenache, Carignan and Mourvedre from 80 year old vines, Made without filtering or fining. Pale but gorgeous mid red colour. At first on the nose, you are like "What even is that?". Whatever it is, you know that you like it. Elegant, subtle fruit is intermixed with gentle herb, earth and savoury characters. Deep and wonderful. On the palate the wine is elegant and deep again, but not heavy in the slightest. Ruffled fruit and savoury notes with minerality and real finesse. These wines are like no other from the Roussillon. Outstanding.

Natural, organic Macabeu from a beautiful vineyard in Calce, Roussillon blended 50/50 with Chenin Blanc from Aveyron in central France! The Chenin Blanc is from Vincent's friends at Coultades du Coustoubi. The '78' moniker comes from both postcodes being added together - 66 for Roussillon and 12 for Aveyron. The blend makes for a wine of great character with a precise, floral nose, a good body that has great tension with fine acidity. Really interesting and ultimately, hugely satisfying wine. Wow. A literal "Wow". We were completely knocked out with this cuvee upon discovery back in January 2023, at an organic wine fair in Southern France. Across from d'Ourea's stand was the stand of one of our longest and most successful producers who too makes a similar style of lifted, elegant Grenache. I passed him a glass of d'Ourea's Vacqueyras to which the winemaker put under his nose, "Wow". He continued "This is beautiful, the perfect balance in the aromatics of Grenache, a lovely use of whole-bunch". "The stems (of the grape bunches) are the most beautiful part of the grape - they bring freshness and aromas of garrigue, herbs, and complexity to the wine". Adrien Roustan, Vigneron at d'Ourea The selection in 2023 is 85% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, Carignan and Mourvèdre. An outstanding Vacqueyras from a selection of Adrien's finest terroir. Being a blend of "Hautes Garrigues" (a red clay gravel) and "Pendants" (a blue and yellow marl). Each terroir brings its original personality. The "Garrigues" finesse and minerality. The "Pendants" the power and depth. Vineyards planted in 1950. "The Grenache here is at the northern end of its ripening range, and that means its wines have finesse and elegance". We could not agree more. A truly charming wine and a real "Wow".

A wine from an amazing single site with vines older than 90 years. Carignan on black schistous marl. Aged for 20 months in barrels. Possibly Roussillon's most elegant expression of the grape? Outstanding wine.

Old vines from the Grand Montmirail, high altitude vineyards (400 to 520 meters). The foot of the vineyards consist of a red marl that brings the muscle and virility. In middle and higher slopes limestone bedrock is increasingly present, this transmits the wines tension and raciness. Direct, pure wines. 100% Grenache in 2023. 70% grapes destemmed, crushed and a short infusion follows. Wildly fermented and only matured in concrete tank to expose the complexity and natural tension of the wine. This is a full, broad wine, but elegant and still vibrating. The originality and beauty of the site is transmitted with energy. This Gigondas shows you this character, this minerality - water of rock, wine of rock.

A blend of Genache Blanc, Gris and Noir, from ancient 90 year old vines in the ancient and quite amazing 'C|os des Escounils' that the brothers are developing and working on re-establishing it's other potential vineyard areas. This is beautiful, racy, elegant wine that is softly textured and very ‘modern’ in its freshness and balance.

A new Muscat de Beaumes de Venise in 2023 from d'Ourea - 100% Muscat Petit Grain made in a a bright, not too sweet style. Invigorating and lovely.

80% Grenache, 20% Syrah Cotes du Rhone Fruits Rouge is made from Grenache from the commune of Sainte Cécile-les-Vignes and Syrah grapes from the garrigues in Tulette. These combine to produce a bright, clear wine, with a beautiful aromatic character - the wine is fresh, refined and delicate. A little beauty by this great vigneron.

Old vine Grenache grown on decomposed black schist with a limestone sub soil with some quartz, that produces something amazing. Ethereal, sublime and fresh, this achieves a level of finesse akin to fine red Burgundy. Remarkable, special, very good indeed.

50% Grenache Blanc, 40% Clairette (planted 1950) from 0.9 hectare on very stony alluvial soils at Sablet and 10% Roussanne on Gramiller at La Montagnette at Rasteau. The wine sees ferment in 80% steel vat, 20% old oak cask. Then bred for 6 months. 2,500 bottles produced. The nose is all freshly cut juicy pears and gorgeous white flowers - so pretty, utterly charming. More fruit and flowers to the palate's silky juice. This is medium-bodied, elegant and long Southern Rhone white wine with fine acid. Really jolly drinking and great with delicate fish or simply as the classiest aperitif.

Energy is a word used a lot by the finest Roussillon growers. We don't think there has been a finer example than this extraordinary wine from the freres Danjou. The 2020 is more 'Cote-Rotie' than the 'Crozes like' 2018. A thrilling wine.
