Hailing from the Las Compuertas region of Argentina, this is everything you’d expect from a top end Malbec. Rich and deliciously full-bodied with notes of baked black cherries, tamarind, and berries, complemented by a hint of white pepper and hibiscus. One to enjoy now or put aside to develop over a few years…if you can wait that long!

Winemaking Picked in October 2023. A blend of two blocks: clone 121 from 2019 vines and clone 95 planted in 2009. Grapes pressed and settled before fermenting cool in stainless steel with added yeast. Tasting Notes Nose: Ripe citrus, orchard fruit Palate: Stone fruit, crisp, fresh and clean Food Match Creamy fish or chicken dishes, seafood, simple weeknight meals.

Brilliant straw yellow . Intensely fruity bouquet with notes of white peach and grapefruit combined with hints of aromatic herbs. On the palate it is intense and mineral.

Pinot Gris is rare in Stellenbosch. The fruit comes from the Newlands Farm planted on granite and sand with chunks of 'koffieflip'. Grapes are fermented like a red wine to preserve the colour and flavour trapped in the skins. Fully destemmed and fermented in open top fermenters with 6 days on the skins. Watermelon pink in colour with pink rose petals, violets, fennel and hints of pickled ginger, rhubarb and red plums. Tangy red berries and Moroccan spice on the palate. Fresh and crunchy with just the right amount of tannin to clean the palate.

This Roboul cuvée exudes lifted fruit aromas in abundance with blackberries, blueberries, pomegranates and also gentle garrigue notes. On the palate it is velvety with curious, beautiful interest. There is a perfect balance between alcohol and acidity and it ends with a striking freshness. It's a marvelous wee wine. Full bottle 1,341 g. Single vineyard. 60% Mourvèdre (20 years old), 40% Grenache (30 years old) on pudding stone, clay, sand and limestone tuffeau. Hand-picked; whole-bunch, spontaneous fermentation; minimal cap work; very gently pressed. Fermented separately because the Mourvèdre ripens so much later than the Grenache. 12 months in old oak barrels of 600, 500 and 400 litres. "If I’d not known what this wine was, and put it to my nose, my first guess would be Pinot Noir, Tasmania. Rosehips. Nectarine skin. Hibiscus tea. Morels. Then, after tasting it, I’d change my mind. I’d wonder if this was Cinsault, one of Alex Milner’s wraith-like beauties, perhaps: the bruised rose petals, the jasmine tea, the taste of prickly pears and dust and pungent-peppery-green at the back of my throat. Then I smell garrigue - cistus, broom heather, wild thyme, the smell of the wind blowing through holm oaks and twisted pines and I am in the south of France. This is the fey child of Roussillon. Devatting in barrels for complete malolactic fermentation. racking and return to barrels for aging. AGEING 100% of the volume is aged for 14 months in barrels French oak, 50% new, 50% second use.

The vineyard used to produce this wine is over 2000 years old, still hand worked and totally organic. Made from Grenache, perfect with chocolate.

Vicentini is a family business where Agostino works with his wife, Teressa, and their children Emanuele and Francesca. Based in San Zeno, a village at the mouth of the Val d‘Illarsi which resides inside both the Soave and Valpolicella DOCs, but is outside of their respective Classico zones. But don't let this last point cloud your vision to their outstanding wines produced in two distinct and great terroirs. The first terroir is on volcanic rock within the Valle dei Ciliegi, here the land is largely responsible for their "Valpolicella" and "Soave Casale". The second terroir is on limestone in the commune of Terrelunghe, where Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave are grown for the 'Terrelunghe' Soave. Corvina (70%), Molinara (20%) and Corvinone (10%). Gorgeous, pale, juicy and joyous Valpolicella that has so much character and complexity but very little tannin and weight. So beautifully done. About as perfect and honest as a light red wine can be.

Gérald Delhome "This is an interesting newcomer to the ranks in the northern sector of Crozes-Hermitage, with vineyards in the communes of Crozes itself, Larnage, Gervans and Erôme. There are almost 11.5 hectares of Crozes across 20 plots, Romain is the fifth generation; his great-grandfather Flavien Delhome had vineyards, while, on his mother’s side there were vineyards under her family in the shape of Severin Habrard, so there are two old roots at play here. Father Gérald took over the domaine in 1993, and concentrated on apricots and vines, the grape harvest sent to the Cave de Tain. Son Romain came on to the domaine in 2018; he had worked locally at Gigondas and in the Ventoux at Chêne Bleu, as well as in Virginia in the USA. The cellar was built in 2019. The domaine is HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) registered, a green credential, and the 2022 harvest will be officially organic. A 100% Viognier from a south-facing granite hillside sheltered from the north wind, in the commune of Larnage to the north of the Crozes-Hermitage AOC. Grown organically, picked by hand, grapes directedly pressed in whole bunches. A slow and low temperature fermentation takes place at 14c. Afterwards, the wine is left to age on fine lees in stainless steel for 6 months. Malolactic fermentation is blocked. In the glass the wine shows a pale yellow colour with sparkly, pearly highlights. On the nose, we find fresh and bright stone fruit, citrus hints and fresh white flowers. The palate is fleshy, round, with a nice acidity, making for a delicious and true Viognier. A fresh style, but a serious one. A lovely wine.

This is excellent Crozes Hermitage with good structure with what feels like perfect extraction - wonderful texture and depth. But the Boreal is ultimately all about the fruit, though, which is charmingly wild in character and quite dark. Blackberry, the beginnings of mulberry and a bit of liquorice in there too. A wonderful offering.

This Syrah blend with soft black fruits and spice has been shaped by the sunbaked rocky soils of the unmistakable and very definate Faugeres terroir. A herbal, spicy bouquet is followed by youthful red cherries and supple mineral character derived from the schist rich soils. One of our greatest value wines.

100% Grenache Noir, made as a Vin Doux Naturel (fermentation is stopped with the addition of spirit to preserve natural sugars and fruit character). Outstanding. Floral, herbal and gorgeous bright red and black fruit on the nose, The palate is divine with its exquisite purity and balance. Great at the table with both savoury and sweet dishes.

A quite thrilling and utterly extraordinary Nebbiolo d'Alba from the brilliant Enrico Rivetto. The Nebbiolo vines grow on the Lirano hill at Sinio at an altitude 400m with exposure to the west on clay-limestone soils - on the border of Barolo. The grapes are manually harvested late September, destalked and fermented naturally in Amphora with its wild, indigenous yeasts. The wine macerates in these terracotta containers for a very long time. The wine has great energy and tension, it is extraordinarily elegant and wonderfully complex too. A neo-classical marvel of a wine. Enrico has dedicated this wine to the hill where he lives and grows. It's an absolutely extraordinary offering that regularly gets scored in the mid-to high nineties in the American journals, if that's your thing: 94/100 in Wine Enthusiast for the 2021, 96/100 WE and 96/100 in Wine Spectator for the 2019, 95/100 in WE for the 2017 etc, etc. "Lustrous mid ruby. Serious and slowly opening up. Lots of minerals and subdued fine cherry fruit. Lush, cool yet ripe perfumed red fruit with long, sandy tannins. Enrico Rivetto chooses the more restrictive Nebbiolo d'Alba denomination to distinguish this amphora-aged version from his more classically crafted Langhe Nebbiolo. The bouquet expresses brambly red fruit and light tertiary scents, while the medium-bodied palate offers a pliant entry, with white pepper and fennel spices lifting the finish. An 'old school' pure Valpolicella - no appassimento, no ripasso, nada. Simply beautiful fruit hand-harvested slightly later from their highest altitude, volcanic vineyard (1ha) near Cazzano di Tramigna at between 500-600m above sea level . After the first selection by the pickers, there is a second when the bunches arrive at the winery. The grapes are then crushed straight away and fermentation takes place in vat. After fermentation is complete, the juice is gently pressed to used tonneaux for two years aging. The wine then spends a further two in bottle before release. A rich wine with great structure and balance. It's a deep, dark and multi-layered beauty. Seriously wonderful now, but this vintage shall develop more complexity in time to add to the fruit, spice and balsamic notes. A wonderful experience.

John Livingstone-Learmonth, Drink Rhone Outstanding Crozes Hermitage from a wonderful site on kaolin (bright white clay) at 330m elevation on Château de Larnage at Larnage. A beautiful, elegant nose but with plenty of concentration - quite a dark style with a gorgeous floral lift. The fruit is pure and direct, and the balsamic note gives the wine real character which is quite unexpected in a wine so young. This 2022 shall do really well a few years down the line, but it is undoubtedly utterly delightful right now. Again, outstanding.

The winery’s finest. After three years of barrel aging abd two in bottle, Barolo can be considered a "Riserva". Enrico selects his Barolo Riserva exclusively from a select few barrels of the vintage that show a greater aging potential. The extra years of ageing guarantee greater smoothness of the tannins and it has intensified the aromatics of leather, red fruit, balsamic and orange oil. Tremendously complex and very deep and satisfying Barolo for the ages. Drink from now until 2060. "Serralunga d’Alba. Mid ruby with orange tinges. Softly perfumed and complex nose with peppery raspberry and sour cherry. Juicy, nervy red fruit and raspberry on the palate, elegant and with long, coating tannins. Elegant and expressive. Lovely breathing grace... great classic Barolo is like smelling or inhaling someone else's breath (someone healthy who you love!) Very classic ... there is quiet tar, there are hints of rose. Smooth, supple, serene. Fine leather is always an allusion. There is a warmth and wealth and seize of fruit. Smooth, serene on the palate. Mouthfilling, lovely bright acidity grafted to fine-milled tannins. Perfect combination of the sweet and the dry. Amazing how 'young' Barolo becomes 'mature' so quickly. It's heady and ripe but so light, graceful and tiptoe to sip. Hard to fault but as in the past you sort of run out of adjectives to hymn as well". 94-95 Andrew Jefford

The Montesquiou family have been a source of Jurancon wines for generations, today it is run by brothers Sébastien and Fabrice who have raised the quality of the estate to a new level. The brothers employ many of the techniques of biodynamic viticulture so that no insecticides and herbicides are used. This blend of local varietals Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng and Petit Courbu is fermented and aged on lees in stainless steel for 4 months. 2025 was a really good vintage for white wines in the South West of france with a hot dry summer following a wet spring. This dry white has great aromas of lime, orange blossom and cut grass, a refreshing acidity and delicious peachy flavours. Genuinely complex and terrific value for a wine of such quality.
