Chateau Rives-Blanques
A blend of 60% Chardonnay, 30% Chenin Blanc and 10% Mauzac, this is a bright and lively white, with attractive aromas of white flower, clover, pear flesh and lightly grilled peach. The medium-weight palate is remarkably balanced, with ample acidity to lift the ripe apple, pear and citrus flavors, finishing with a kiss of sweet spice.

Calera
Showcasing the vibrant charm of Chardonnay grown on the cool, windswept Central Coast, this wine displays enticing aromas of lemon zest, green apple, cedar and passionfruit. On the palate, mouthcoating waves of tropical fruit are balanced by a beam of natural acidity, with French oak-inspired hints of toasted brioche emerging on the finish. Calera’s wines truly express the sense of place. Rather than follow the recommended path, Josh Jensen became a pioneer in search of the perfect spot on the globe to grow grapes. Taking his cue from the great domaines of Burgundy which have grown grapes in limestone soil for centuries, he set out in search of the perfect spot in California to create wines unique to the world but in the style of the greatest wines of France. Site selection was vital as he ventured off the grid to plant on the site of an old limekiln in the Gavilan Mountains of California. Today Calera wines still express that pioneer spirit and are revered the world over.

Kumeu River
Leaner, more austere on the nose. Very lively on the palate, almost sweet caramelised edge, high acid, good brightness. Very ripe, round, and unctuous. Vanillin finish. Tarte tatin. A bit much at the moment. Puppy fat. Lovely length though. Still plenty of opportunity.

Vincent Girardin
Rully, a quaint town situated in the Northern Chalonnaise is great value for Burgundy, only a few miles from the Cote de Beaune where prices are much higher. Vincent Girardin's Rully is 100% Chardonnay and is fruity, lively and round, fatty and long. On the nose there are aromas of honeysuckle and elderberry, white peach and hints of flint. A lovely full mouthfeel with vanilla and oak leading to a polished finish.

The palate is opulent between tension and finesse whil leaving a fresh and mineral finish. Good and strong structure in mouth. Robert parker Notes : The 2020 Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes Dessus is brilliant, unfurling in the glass with aromas of pear, orange oil, white flowers and nutmeg. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, with racy acids and a layered, textural mid-palate, it concludes with a saline finish.

Tolpuddle
You know the calibre of the winemaking behind Tolpuddle, but the complexity of the wine defies dissection, all the components on a unity ticket of one of Tasmania’s greatest vineyards and the lighest of touches on the long, lingering palate. 97 POINTS. James Halliday Always a very good chardonnay. Often among the New World’s best. This said, it is always a pungent, flinty reductive iteration, considerably different to the more generous norm in these parts. Medium-bodied and typically taut, reeling off truffle, leesy oatmeal and white peach notes across a tautly furled, almost gritty climax of praline and hazelnut accents. This will age exceptionally well. 96 POINTS. JamesSuckling.com

Benjamin Leroux
In this cuvée, Benjamin masterfully blends fruit from mostly Meursault, with some higher altitude chardonnay from the hills above Beaune which adds precision and finesse to this Bourgogne Blanc of unbeatable value. Large, old oak fermenting vessels and lees ageing help keep this wine remarkably fresh and elegant.

Crystallum
A wonderfully complex barrel-fermented Chardonnay from different vineyards inland from the coastal town of Hermanus. It boasts aromas of white peach, papaya, jasmine and hints of lemongrass. A complex, balanced vintage that reflects the distinctness of its five fruit. White peach, litchi and green apple on the nose with lime zest, butterscotch and a gunflint and smoke on the palate. Restrained oaking and crisp acidity providing leanness and edge to support the primary fruit.

"The Droins have been producing wines in Chablis for nearly 400 years (their history as vignerons goes back at least to 1620). Although these are rich, full-bodied, buttery wines, they still manage to retain a steeliness, raciness and purity of fruit which are the hallmarks of classic Chablis." Jasper Morris MW

An elegant and refined white burgundy wine with delicate floral aromas and a beautifully balanced mineral finish. Pernand-Vergelesses is a small village nestled below the famous limestone Corton hill, known for the prestigious appellation of Corton-Charlemagne. Producing wonderfully mineral and fruit balanced wines, Pernand-Vergelesses offers great value and this old vines example from Vincent Girardin is simply lovely.

Tesselaarsdal
Berene Sauls has a very unique story. Growing up in a small village in the Overberg, Berene admits that she came from a beer-drinking community, and wine was never really on her radar. Her first exposure was at the age of 19, when she began working for the trailblazing Hamilton Russell family as an au pair. Lasting only a month, her talents at childcare aside, Anthony Hamilton Russell recognised her drive and thought a job working in the winery office would better suit her. Thrown in at the deep end knowing really nothing about wine, she was soon exposed to every side of the business - assisting with exports, bottling and labelling, driving forklifts and picking during harvest too, as well as on the side, "growing and developing a palate that wasn't there!" Her curiosity kept her rising through the ranks, and fifteen years after starting her career, Anthony offered her the opportunity to make her first wine, aided by proficient head winemaker Emul Ross. She leapt at the opportunity, and the rest is history. She named her business Tesselaarsdal for the small village that she grew up in, and if you look closely at the label, you can make out two people walking across the mountain. This is Berene and her grandmother. From unirrigated vineyards on the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge, and this is just her third release! Crisp acidity and lean minerality underpin notes of melon and tangerine fruit and accents of lime blossom. A triumphant expression of terroir, this medium-bodied, cool climate wine is both silky and fresh and boasts a long, elegant finish.

Gaëlle et Jérôme Meunier
Gaelle and Jerome Meunier started their own domaine in Rully and Mercurey, before adding a further hectare of Puligny 1er Cru Champs Gain. The Bourgogne Chardonnay 2021 comes from young vines across the villages and has bright aromas of whte peach and flowers, some seasoned oak and plenty of rich tree fruit flavour. A nice balance of ripe fruit and savoury oak.

Domaine Olivier Leflaive
Intense dried fruit aromas combine with forestal notes of anise and chlorophyll. Firm mouthfeel with a touch of tannin that gives body and texture. Enclosed by drystone walls on three sides and backing steeply onto the Montagne de Beaune, Clos des Monsnières offers a beautiful panorama of Pommard and the Côte. Quite shallow clay-limestone soils over ironstone gravel enable Chardonnay to ripen slowly.

The Les Tillets has a finesse, powerful style and matures for 18 months in new and used oak barrels. The nose is expressive with aromas of white fruit blossom, yellow and white fruit and a slight spiciness with some toast. Round, lively in the mouth, with an aromatic freshness of citrus and yellow fruit, with some nutty aromas in the end. This is a very delicate wine with a long finish and an underlying robustness and its style can be... described as between a classic Meursault and a typical Puligny-Montrachet.

From the Puligny side of the generic land, this carries 35 percent new oak and has a defined, clear Puligny style, with tight fruit and a kernel of nuttiness. Neatly made, it has substance for a Bourgogne Blanc – indeed, it’s as good as a village Puligny at other addresses.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "The 2021 Santenay 1er Cru Le Beaurepaire is especially good, and the vintage would have appeared to have played to this site's strengths. Delivering musky aromas of orange oil, bergamot, nutmeg, peach and pear mingled with hints of freshly baked bread, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and charming, with a fleshy, enveloping core of fruit, lively acids and an open but precise profile." 94 pts
