Chateau Rives-Blanques
A blend of 60% Chardonnay, 30% Chenin Blanc and 10% Mauzac, this is a bright and lively white, with attractive aromas of white flower, clover, pear flesh and lightly grilled peach. The medium-weight palate is remarkably balanced, with ample acidity to lift the ripe apple, pear and citrus flavors, finishing with a kiss of sweet spice.

Cedrick Bardin
A little known appelation next to the classic vineyard of Sancerre, this has a distinctive personality being rather richer and more textured. Cédrick Bardin’s domaine is a patchwork of properties in Sancerre, Pouilly, and a few acres in the lesser-known Coteaux du Giennois. This appellation lies to the north of its more famous neighbors and provides a different but excellent expression of Sauvignon Blanc. Dominated by dark, clay-comprised soils, this plot yields grapes with a subtler yet more exotic character, intense herbaceousness & clean minerality with refreshing citrus overtones.

Jean-Paul Brun
Jean Paul Brun is known throughout Beaujolais as the original ‘farmer’ of the region. He has always practiced organically though doesn’t bother himself with the bureaucracy of the paperwork. The ‘terres dorees’ on which he grows his vines is a truly beautiful part of the region, and literally translates to the ‘golden lands’. This golden beauty is fully translated into his Beaujolais blanc. Dry and elegant, with lovely intense ripe fruit with citrus flavours. Pure, juicy and succulent. Real class. 100% unoaked Chardonnay from top sites in the Maconnais. Beaujolais like you've never tried before!

Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon
Domaine des Comtes Lafon has the deepest and coldest cellars in Burgundy and they nurture some of the greatest dry white wines of Burgundy. Dominique Lafon has been in charge since 1985, taking over a domaine which already had a reputation for outstanding, if irregular whites, and potentially good reds. When Lafon took over the domaine, most of his vineyards were leased out on a share-cropping basis. It was only towards the end of the 80s that he managed to reclaim all the vineyards and thus have full responsibility for them. The white wines are now consistently among the best in Burgundy while since 1989 the reds have reached the top division. The domaine is now cultivated according to biodynamic principles with no use of herbicides or chemical sprays. All the wines are barrel-fermented, using new oak for the 1er Crus upwards. This is the very pinnacle of White Burgundy with superlative fruit, power, complexity and total harmony being the wines' hallmarks. In September 1999 the Lafons bought a domaine in the Maconnais at Milly Lamartine, sold under the label of Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon. Further vineyards have been bought subsequently, and from 2009 there is a contract in place to farm the vineyards of the Chateau de Viré. This wasn’t produced in 2019 due to frost; the surviving grapes were declassified to Mâcon-Villages. There was no lasting damage, and it’s a real success in ’20. This spot ripens early, so the grapes are picked at the start of harvest. Made in oak foudre, this is fruity and charming with crisp peach fruit and a zesty finish.

Lur Saluces
The de Fargues ’95 has a ripe, generous, quintessential de Fargues nose with tangy marmalade, Seville orange and quince jus, though it does not quite have the razor-sharp delineation of a top-flight wine from the estate. The palate is medium-bodied with a citrus lemon, orange peel and fresh apricot. Like the nose, it would benefit from more tension and animation towards the finish, yet it is certainly generous and should drink well for years to come.

Domaine Treloar
Fresh passion fruit on the nose - not what one expects from Muscat. - then a bit of crushed apple, mint. There is gorgeous freshness and life in this wine. The passion fruit persists on the palate, but not in a fat tropical sense - it's etched with lemony acidity and tingles, crystalline sharp. Bang tidy. "This superb value, expressive white needs to be on your radar! It's not a blowsy, unruly Muscat, but a tight and fresh expression of the potential of Roussillon white wines. Floral and delicate aromas, stony, with confit lemon and a subtle hint of roses and oranges. The palate is bright and briny, tight and shiny, brimming with lemons and fresh salty herbs. Retailing in the UK at under £15, this is deliciously amazing value and is a must-buy". 93/100 Decanter Magazine June 2022 "Top Roussillon Wines: 15 to discover"

Domaine Rolly-Gassmann
Rolly-Gassmann is a domaine like no other and has a unique style. It is located at Rorschwihr, a sleepy village on the northern rim of Haut-Rhin. The vineyards are located in Rorschwihr and the neighbouring Rodern and Bergheim. The wines are small masterpieces with very good definition. They all carry the signature of Rolly-Gassmann, a certain shameless, velvety sweetness. The fruit is rich and manages to balance the fruit with a vibrant acidity to form wines that melt on the palate.

Olivier Leflaive
The name Leflaive carries an expectation with it to produce the best wines possible and cousin of the famed Anne-Claude in which Olivier co-owned Domaine Leflaive with does not disappoint on his own range of wines. Saint Romain, Its exposure towards South-East and its limestone stony soil give a wine of personality mixing rich but subtle aromas. This cuvée is vinified from three distinct plots of different ages. A lively wine with saline minerality and a richness from the oak aging (20% new). Very elegant. Ideal with pâtés, terrines and potted meat. In a sunny vintage like 2020, the high-lying Sous le Chateau vineyard in Saint Romain is a great source for wine showing fruit intensity with balancing freshness. 2020 has given 65% of a normal production, the colour being pale golden-lemon, aromas floral, fresh and delicate. In taste, this shows broad fruit with creamy texture, vigorous length and silky aftertaste

Henri Prudhon & Fils
Les Enseignères is one of those stealth values in the complex world of Burgundy. Its western border forms the eastern edge of Batard-Montrachet, and it is one of the rare spots in the Cote d’Or where a grand cru slopes directly down into village-level territory with no premier cru in between. The Prudhons own just shy of a hectare of quite old vines here—between 30 and 80 years of age. A typical Puligny nose combines notes of white flower and white-fleshed fruit with those of spice and soft citrus nuances. There is a more sophisticated mouth feel if not the same complexity to the delicious and solidly concentrated flavours that are also generously proportioned before concluding in a sappy and persistent finish.

Chateau de Garnerot
100% Aligote located in the terroirs of Bourzeron. Manual harvest and sorting, aged in oak barrels (demi-muids) 10 months. Beautiful wine with a golden glow. Its nose evokes acacia, white flowers with a touch of exotic fruits. The mineral aromas blend perfectly with notes of citrus, honey and a slight touch of hazelnut. The richness of the terroir of this plot brings roundness and length.

Corinne & Thierry Drouin
This outstanding, estate-grown Chardonnay comes from a massive outcrop of limestone at the base of the iconic La Roche de Vergisson. Fermented in stainless steel and aged in neutral French oak demi-muids, this is the classic style of Macon with an unctuous and creamy texture, but displaying the wonderful only-in-Burgundy kind of mineral-driven acidity that keeps it extremely refreshing and adds a touch of class to proceedings. Notes of toasted hazelnut, almond, yellow apple, pear, jasmine and honeysuckle are prominent, while beautiful stony mineral notes shine in the finish. The finish, by the way, is notable for its extreme persistence and is the cherry on top of a truly outstanding white Burgundy, the kind of value every lover of these kinds of wine craves.

Rollin Pere & Fils
"The nose is not quite as extrovert as the Hautes Côtes de Beaune, and the fruit is whiter on the palate. Certainly ripe, a touch of liquorice, some warmth, but this works and has kept some Pernand-Vergelesses. Stocky but well made." Jasper Morris MW Domaine Rollin Père et Fils works 14 hectares of vines in five different communes in the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy. The domaine, situated in Pernand-Vergelesses (a village behind the Hill of Corton), was founded in 1955 by Maurice Rollin, but it was his father who had started to assemble parcels of vines from which he produced his own wine outside work hours (like his father, he was employed as a vineyard worker by another winery in the village). Rémi, Maurice's son, has now been joined by his own son, Simon.

J.C. Bessin
This is from just over 1.5 hectares planted in the late 1960s and early ’70s. Bessin’s Forêt vines aren’t far from his Montmains but the wine displays a very different character. There’s some smoky reduction on the nose, with restrained salinity and some delicate citrus fruits underneath. Intense and pure, this is a picture of restraint.

Domaine Olivier Leflaive
There’s a modest shift in this year’s blend: the domaine now manages two vineyards; and five domaine-owned sites make up the balance. The proportion of new oak (15%) is unchanged, as is the wine’s ability to punch above its weight. The fruit has a Puligny-style bite, with the clever use of the lees adding a creamy sidenote.

Meursault Village "Meix Chavaux" Domaine 2020 reveals a strong character. It is a slightly tense wine with excellent acidity. Full of energy, this wine is well-balanced. Meursault Village "Meix Chavaux" Domaine 2018 stems from a 10-hectare production area grown in an organic manner (non-certified) and located between 240 and 260 meters above sea level around the village of Meursault. Domaine Hubert Lamy
This cuvée is from 10 parcels covering three hectares of village-level St Aubin. It’s aged mostly in larger 500- and 600-litre demi-muids, about 10% of which are new. These vines are mostly in the cooler parts of the village; they manifest themselves in a lemon-zest freshness that kicks in at the finish

Patrick Javillier
For many years, Patrick has isolated his generic vineyards that sit on limestone for this cuvée. From these 0.75 hectares, the domaine produces an unusually complex Bourgogne Blanc, in the mould of a Puligny-Montrachet. The nose is expressive, elegant and powerful with notes of white and yellow fruits, succulent flowers and touches of toast. On the palate, the wine displays fine balance and a lovely body with crisp acidity. The same aromas are found as on the nose. This is an expressive and fresh wine with a long finish.

Montesquiou Freres
The Montesquiou family have been a source of Jurancon wines for generations, today it is run by brothers Sébastien and Fabrice who have raised the quality of the estate to a new level. The brothers employ many of the techniques of biodynamic viticulture so that no insecticides and herbicides are used. This blend of local varietals Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng and Petit Courbu is fermented and aged on lees in stainless steel for 4 months. 2020 was a really good vintage for white wines in the South West of france with a hot dry summer following a wet spring. This dry white has great aromas of lime, orange blossom and cut grass, a refreshing acidity and delicious peachy flavours. Genuinely complex and terrific value for a wine of such quality.

White Rhone wines are a bit of a hidden treasure, little-known outside France but well-loved by wine buffs around the world. This example is typical, and very good value. Well balanced in the mouth, it is fresh, with great vivacity and a hint of bitterness with salty aromas. Nice length.

Domaine des Trinités
Debuting in 2020, Dom. des Trinités La Lumière is a full maceration wine made from beautiful fruit from and outstanding single vineyard. It is intense, mineral thrilling and utterly satisfying. Grab this limited production wine before all the plaudits start flooding in. Soil and climate: The vines are planted on the highest vineyards of the steep north facing slopes in the beautiful foothills of the Cevennes mountains in an isolated position surrounded by nothing other than herbaceous shrub and woodland. The soil is a combination of schist and basalt boulders keeping a freshness and bright acidity in these deep rooting vines. Harvest and vinification: All the grapes are handpicked 2 weeks after the grapes used in the Imaginaire from the highest point in the vineyard (350M) and provide a yield of between 15 and 20 hl/ha and undergo a rigorous triage both at the vineyard and the winery. The small 15kg crates of fruit are taken straight to the winery where they are put in to tanks and left on their skins for 21 days under a nap of Carbon Dioxide at 8°C before being gently pressed. After 48 hours of cold settling the juice is racked-off the grape solids, then allowed to ferment at low temperatures (12 - 14 degrees centigrade). A carbon dioxide nap is also used throughout the entire fermentation process to avoid excess oxidation. Wild ferment, no use of enzymes or any other fining products. Tasting notes: A delicate white blossom, tangerine skin nose gives way to a rich, textured and multi-layered mouth feel, providing lush fruit with hints of lychee and grapefruit developing in to some green olive and almond on the finish.

Domaine Gayda
"Gritty, granular, savoury. The sunflower seeds and meadow hay on the nose fold into pear puree and gem squash and roasted marrow on the palate – gentle, comforting, subtle with the warm, rounded, wholesome embrace of roasted white and green squash, a sprinkle of spice, a drizzle of olive oil. But there is also a pickled-jalapeño bite that builds into a salty tang-tempered clamp on the finish." (TC) 17/20 Jancis Robinson, May 2021, Grenache Gris 2018 "Bright straw yellow colour with silvery nuances, the nose offers a beautiful aromatic intensity around elegant fruity notes, white fruits, citrus peel, fresh floral touches and a slightly smoky mineral hint. The mouth is pleasant and pure, marked by a superb tension which brings freshness, saline touches and ample flavours brought by a magnificent aging on lees which prolong the persistence with harmony and elegance. Altogether a beautifully well-balanced wine leaving you with a compelling sensation of freshness." Dominique Laporte, Meilleur Sommelier de France, Meilleur Ouvrier de France Sommelier. Field selection and picking in small crates – Whole bunch pressing – Light racking – Natural vinification without sulphites in concrete egg tank and 500L barrels. Soil Type: Calcareous clay / Commune: Opoul-Périllos, Roussillon Ageing on full lees for 9 months – Racking off lees for clarification in tank – Bottled at the Domaine.
