Domaine Combe Blanche
Beautiful, new and thrillingly pure natural wine from Guy Vanlancker and son Ambrose at the Domaine. From the amazng terroir that is high up above La Liviniere, home to some of the Minervois greatest red wines. This does what great Cinsault from great terroirs does - it is lifted, curious, salty, sweet-edged, lithe and utterly glorious. A very special bottle from the Master & Son.

We've had great success with these - top value from a forgotten village. Rustic, somewhat vegetal in a good way! Jancis Robinson MW 15- Light and lightly vegetal. Chewy and a slight lack of ripe fruit. Grainy texture.

Mas Sibert
Natural Petit Verdot raised in amphora by vigneron Simon Bertschinger. The winery is based in Fos, but the vineyards are just south of Faugeres in the clay foothills. Simon is doing some remarkabke stuff with some interesting grape varieties. Bright and vigourous but with depth and focus. Brilliant wine.

Chateau Beau-Site
71 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 24 % Merlot, 3 % Petit Verdot, 2 % Cabernet Franc. On the gravel hills of St Estephe, this estate is owned by the Casteja family who own Ch Batailley and Ch Lynch Moussas in Pauillac. Heady aromatics, berry fruit, liquorice, blackcurrant. A touch floral and plummy. Quite dense with plenty of flavour, quite firm tannins, with the possibility of good ageing.

Domaine Bertrand Bachelet
Brilliant ruby robe, raspberry. A striking nose, with an aroma of red fruit, blackcurrant. Fresh on the palate, with peppery notes. The Maranges appellation is the youngest of the Côte de Beaune family, making its debut in May 1989. It spans three villages, namely Dezize-lès-Maranges, Cheilly-les-Maranges and Sampigny-les-Maranges. Several hills and slopes make up this appellation, all south/south-east-facing, at an altitude of between 200 and 400 metres. The Maranges 1ers Crus are spread over seven distinct climats.

Vincent Girardin
Les Gravières premier cru is on Santenay's border with Chassagne-Montrachet. It gets a bit more sun than most of the commune, and is one of the best Santenay vineyards, for both reds and whites. While the excellent Vincent Girardin is better known for whites, this Pinot is nonetheless reliable, and good value for Burgundy in this particularly good vintage. Plenty of red berry fruit, with earth and subtle spice. It is tangy and vibrant, still youthful. Soft and with lots of savoury interest.

Domaine les Pallieres
Not only is the magnificent Gigondas estate 500 years old, it's owned by Daniel and Frédéric Brunier. Know the name? They are behind Châteauneuf's leading estate, Vieux Télégraphe. Meting out the same care, they produce this rich, old-vine Gigondas. And Daniel reckons that 2019 is his best vintage to date. A perfectly balanced wine, finely poised and with great length.

Domaine Rollin
From vineyards that share the same Corton hillsides as many Grand Cru, this Pernand-Vergelesses epitomizes the great value still to be had from village-level Burgundy. The wine begins with aromas of high-toned cherry blossoms and raspberry preserves offset by hues of forest floor. The palate features a balance of savory red fruit, wild herbs, and tannins integrated with a vibrant and persistent acidity. Bottled unfiltered.

Crushed black fruit - dark cherries, blackberries and blackcurrants - that evolve in the glass to reveal slightly smoky and liquorice notes. Lifted menthol notes complement the minerality. Silky tannins, complexity and structure, with a fantastic perfume. It is truly wonderful to get this parcel of mature Crozes that is drinking at it's majestic peak.

Delas Freres
94 points "One of the gems in the vintage is the 2013 Hermitage Domaine des Tourettes." Wine Advocate 18 points "Very glossy layered and magnificent...it’s a pretty magnificent wine." Jancis Robinson Another phenomenal wine from Delas as the critics’ assessments show. The Domaine des Tourettes Hermitage 2013 is pure Syrah from three different terroirs - L’Ermite Le Sabot and Les Bessards - aged for 18 months. Open it a couple of hours before you want to drink it to let it breathe and maybe consider grabbing two because as Wine Advocate warns it will "have three decades of longevity". Full-bodied and deeply intense it’s packed with blackberries blueberries black pepper black olive smoke and something that can only be compared to chasing a wild boar through the undergrowth on a hot day while dressed head-to-toe in leather. Pair this magical and otherworldly wine with cumin-spiced lamb mapo tofu tapenade Chinese barbeque flavours and spicy stews.

Domaine Alain Gras
Packed full of wild strawberry fruit with hints of raspberry, the palate adds a touch of spice to the sweet fruit and even a touch of coffee. This is a lovely approachable wine. Alain Gras is the reference point for St-Romain. This extremely steep village was considered part of the Hautes Côtes de Beaune until 1947. The vineyards are set back from the main Côte and mostly at higher elevation and have unquestionably improved in quality by the changes in climate and no longer struggle to reach full physiological maturity. The domaine covers 12 hectares with 8ha being planted with Chardonnay and 4ha to Pinot Noir. There are 42 separate parcels but Alain prefers to blend the grapes into one cuvée.

Energy is a word used a lot by the finest Roussillon growers. We don't think there has been a finer example than this extraordinary wine from the freres Danjou. The 2020 is more 'Cote-Rotie' than the 'Crozes like' 2018. A thrilling wine.

Natural, biodynamic and vegan. Grenache, Carignan and now (for the first time) Mourvedre from 80 year old vines, Made without filtering or fining. Pale but gorgeous mid red colour. At first on the nose, you are like "What even is that?". Whatever it is, you know that you like it. Elegant, subtle fruit is intermixed with gentle herb, earth and savoury charachters. Deep and wonderful. On the palate the wine is elegant and deep again, but not heavy in the slightest. Ruffled fruit and savoury notes with minerality and real finesse. These wines are like no other from the Roussillon. Outstanding. Magnum sized.

This Roboul cuvée exudes lifted fruit aromas in abundance with blackberries, blueberries, pomegranates and also gentle garrigue notes. On the palate it is velvety with curious, beautiful interest. There is a perfect balance between alcohol and acidity and it ends with a striking freshness. It's a marvelous wee wine. Full bottle 1,341 g. Single vineyard. 60% Mourvèdre (20 years old), 40% Grenache (30 years old) on pudding stone, clay, sand and limestone tuffeau. Hand-picked; whole-bunch, spontaneous fermentation; minimal cap work; very gently pressed. Fermented separately because the Mourvèdre ripens so much later than the Grenache. 12 months in old oak barrels of 600, 500 and 400 litres. "If I’d not known what this wine was, and put it to my nose, my first guess would be Pinot Noir, Tasmania. Rosehips. Nectarine skin. Hibiscus tea. Morels. Then, after tasting it, I’d change my mind. I’d wonder if this was Cinsault, one of Alex Milner’s wraith-like beauties, perhaps: the bruised rose petals, the jasmine tea, the taste of prickly pears and dust and pungent-peppery-green at the back of my throat. Then I smell garrigue - cistus, broom heather, wild thyme, the smell of the wind blowing through holm oaks and twisted pines and I am in the south of France. This is the fey child of Roussillon. This is a wine that dances in the thin places". Very Good Value. Tamlyn Currin on jancisrobinson.com 18/20 jancisrobinson.com

Domaine Danjou-Banessy
100% Carignan from 80 year old vines. Complex floral aromas. On the palate the fruits, such as raspberry and morello cherry, are crunchy and fresh. There is also a very strong stony/mineral feeling. The finish is long and pure. A vibrant wine.
