Pierre Bertrand
Tiny house in the famous village of Cumieres in the Marne valley. Pinot-dominated like most wines from this village, it's deep copper/gold and wonderfully peachy and lush, explosively juicy, and cracking value.

Domaine du Landreau
Cabernet Franc, Chenin Blanc, and Chardonnay make up the balance of this exceptional sparkling white wine. As the owners of Raymond Morin say, the grapes of Loire Valley are ideally suited to take the bubble. Made in the traditional method by secondary fermentation in bottle and aged on lees for three years minimum, this is a remarkably good value wine. Fruity aromas from the Cabernet Franc, body from the Chardonnay, and persistent acidity from the Chenin Blanc. What more could you want? Theres a clear reason why its our preference at CWM.

Westwell
Winemaker Adrian Pike on the Blanc de Blancs 2013 "We took over Westwell in the summer of 2017. Having tasted through the sparkling wines which we had inherited (from previous owner and winemaker John Rowe), we realised that there were some real jewels amongst them. The 2013 Blanc de Blancs was one of the highlights - a pristine and elegant Chardonnay with the acidity for longevity. Its a real celebration of Chardonnay and how it can develop with careful ageing". This wine really shows the potential for the site at Westwell where the vines are digging into the chalk slope of the North Downs.

Drappier
Such a classic of the rich Pinot-dominated style, Pint really is their thing, down in sunny Urville where they've been since 1808 - still a family-owned House. Often seen on the lists of smart restaurants; quite the food wine, quite superb. Jancisrobinson.com 17/20 "Rich, creamy aroma. Brioche and pear. Lovely stone-fruit character. On the palate, glorious baked-apple brioche and excellent acidity. Almost a little chewy... orange and apricot.." Decanter Part of The best non-vintage Champagnes to buy: "Described by Drappier as 'almost a blanc de noirs', this Pinot Noir-dominant wine sourced from the Côte des Bar is the house's calling card. 5% of the cuvée is matured in barrels for a year for added complexity and texture, and it's bottled unfiltered with a fairly low dosage of 7g/l. There are some melon and apple scents on the nose along with a splash of red fruits, while the palate is intense, with notes of apple, quince and grape wrapped in a red-fruit veil. It's full-bodied and long, with a lovely texture from the red wine tannins and oak-matured portion."

Leclerc Briant
Leclerc Briants flagship wine exemplifies the Houses style, and the blend (40% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier and 20% Chardonnay) is sourced from organic and biodynamic vineyards. The nose offers notes of candied citrus, green apple, apricot and almond, while the palate is full of freshness and salinity, with a chalky, mineral finish. Spearheaded by Hervé Jestins inventive, inspirational winemaking, this extraordinary house has reinvented itself over the past decade. Cynics might dismiss Hervés wilder ideas (such as under-sea cellaring) as marketing ploys, but the ideas here are rooted in respect for nature.

Deutz
Deutz Brut Vintage is created in only the best years when a vintage is declared. The wines are blended from the finest crus and age at least three years on the lees, one year more than required, in order to develop a rich bouquet and flavour. 2014 is a vintage to look out for. Delicious, forward, moreish.

Louis Roderer
Parker's Wine Advocate 99/100 "A candidate for wine-of-the-vintage honors in Champagne, Roederer's 2013 Cristal Rosé is showing brilliantly, unfurling in the glass with notes of crisp orchard fruit, white flowers, red berries, stone fruit, freshly baked bread and tangerine oil. Full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, the vintage's bright girdling acids are amply cloaked in exuberant, expressive and notably concentrated fruit; so while this Cristal is as tensile and age-worthy as one would expect, it's also impressively fleshy and generous given the year. Concluding with an intensely sapid finish, the 2013 isn't as overtly structured as the muscular, tightly wound 2012: rather, it's the 2013's alliance of cut and flesh, precision and charm that's so compelling this year. This is another banner vintage for what I consider the reigning champion of the region's tête de cuvée bottlings, and it will be worth an effort to acquire."

Decanter Review: "Four Stars, 16.5 / 20. Ripe Pinot fruit, a hint of spice, incisive, Chardonnay-led freshness. More precise thanks to a lowered dosage of 8g/l. Exemplary." Michael Edwards July 2011. A classic Champagne with orchard fruits and spice aromas.
