This Il Caggio Sparkling Rosé is bright light pink in colour with a fine and persistent perlage. It has a fine, fruity and elegant bouquet with aromas of apple, pear and white flowers.

Cabernet Franc, Chenin Blanc, and Chardonnay make up the balance of this exceptional sparkling white wine. As the owners of Raymond Morin say, the grapes of Loire Valley are ideally suited to “take the bubble”. Made in the traditional method by secondary fermentation in bottle and aged on lees for three years minimum, this is a remarkably good value wine. Decanter Part of The best non-vintage Champagnes to buy: "Described by Drappier as 'almost a blanc de noirs', this Pinot Noir-dominant wine sourced from the Côte des Bar is the house's calling card. 5% of the cuvée is matured in barrels for a year for added complexity and texture, and it's bottled unfiltered with a fairly low dosage of 7g/l. There are some melon and apple scents on the nose along with a splash of red fruits, while the palate is intense, with notes of apple, quince and grape wrapped in a red-fruit veil. It's full-bodied and long, with a lovely texture from the red wine tannins and oak-matured portion."

Deutz Brut Vintage is created in only the best years when a vintage is declared. The wines are blended from the finest crus and age at least three years on the lees, one year more than required, in order to develop a rich bouquet and flavour. 2014 is a vintage to look out for. Delicious, forward, moreish.

Parker's Wine Advocate 99/100 "A candidate for wine-of-the-vintage honors in Champagne, Roederer's 2013 Cristal Rosé is showing brilliantly, unfurling in the glass with notes of crisp orchard fruit, white flowers, red berries, stone fruit, freshly baked bread and tangerine oil. Full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, the vintage's bright girdling acids are amply cloaked in exuberant, expressive and notably concentrated fruit; so while this Cristal is as tensile and age-worthy as one would expect, it's also impressively fleshy and generous given the year. Concluding with an intensely sapid finish, the 2013 isn't as overtly structured as the muscular, tightly wound 2012: rather, it's the 2013's alliance of cut and flesh, precision and charm that's so compelling this year. This is another banner vintage for what I consider the reigning champion of the region's tête de cuvée bottlings, and it will be worth an effort to acquire."

Family grower, 100 years in business. Though the house is based in Damery in the Marne Valley west of Epernay, this wine comes from their land in Chouilly one of the 6 Grand Cru villages of the Cotes des Blancs and the gateway to the zone, where the classic chalk slopes emerge south of the Marne and Ay. 35% reserve wine, 2g/l dosage. 100% Chardonnay from Chouilly Grand Cru. 2017 vintage base. Lots of reserve wine, partial oak. Lemon meringue, chalky mineral, wonderfully expressive and impressive.

A superb off-dry Prosecco alternative produced exclusively for the UK market by Eva Plazas, the ever dynamic winemaker at Vilarnau Cava. Produced from a blend of indigenous grape varieties, Macabeo, Parellada and Subirat Parent, aromatic primary fruits on the nose lead to a palate with excellent balance between acidity and sweetness. Using the highly aromatic and rare Subirat Parent grape as part of the dosage (15g/l) is inspired.
