The grapes used in the production of Dow’s Fine Ruby were a blend of traditional Portuguese varieties from the Douro Valley, such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz and Tinto Cão. Dow’s Fine Ruby was aged in seasoned oak casks at our lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia for an average of 3 years, and bottled when ready to drink. Exuberant youthful fruit flavours make it perfect for informal drinking. Dow’s is owned and managed by the fourth generation of the Symington family, Port producers since the 19th Century. The family, whose experience dates back over 100 years, supervises all the vineyards, winemaking and ageing of this wine. Dow’s owns two of the Douro’s finest Quintas, Senhora da Ribeira and Bomfim. They were acquired in 1890 and 1896, making Dow’s one of the first houses to invest in premium vineyards.

Just a touch of maturity gives this some interesting layers of complexity. Remains fresh though - a lively aperitif served properly chilled. I also forgot to mention the complexity here lies in one of the reserve wines being from 1964! They really are geniuses at blending historical wines…

Warre’s was alone for many years in continuing to make LBV in the same way as it had been made for generations; bottled without any fining or filtration after some 4 years of ageing in cask. This Port is then matured in bottle for at least another 4 years.This prolonged bottle ageing is crucial to the development of the superb “nose” and flavour which lend this Port a style and complexity very much akin to that of Vintage Port. Warre’s LBV is generally acknowledged to be the finest of its type. Food pairing suggestion: This wine is superb with cheese, nuts and dried fruits after a meal.

Known as the Ch Yquem of the Loire, Ch de Fesles' Bonnezeaux is an astonishing wine made from Chenin Blanc. 100% botrytis affected grapes picked over 6 'tries' or passes through the vineyard. Unctuously sweet with 175g/lt residual sugar, yet fresh and tangy acidity makes it incredibly long and satisfying.

Red with violet tones, bright and very expressive. Red mature fruits like plum and cherry and black fruits like dry figs. A spicy aroma characteristic from the Malbec of Cafayate. Vanilla, chocolate and caramel aromas from the oak aging. Palate: with a sweet and harmonic entry and a balanced acidity. Firm tannins, long finish and persistence

From vineyards across the Garonne river from Sauternes. Similar style, less expensive. Full burnished gold, not particulalry aromatic, syrupy, nice apricoty baked apple flavours , decent oak grip and acid.

Honeyed, cedar, orange peel with notes of spiced fruit, lemon marmalade and a lingering sweet finish. Heavenly!

Pale gold colour. Floral nose with candied fruits, lychee, tangerine. The palate is rich with very good acidity and a long, salivating finish. A harmonious wine. Superb value.

Made without clarification or filtration, Tio Pepe En Rama seeks to emulate the experience of tasting Tio Pepe straight from the cask and is super-fresh and super-charged with flavour. Initially approached as an experimental bottling, the success of Tio Pepe Fino En Rama has pioneered a whole new sherry category, in which Tio Pepe played a key role. Tío Pepe en Rama 2025 presents a pale gold colour with slight turbidity, a result of the presence of or in suspension. Its nose is intense and fragrant, with notes of chalk, talc, iodine, and salt, intertwined with aromas of nuts, chamomile, lemon, bakery, and fresh yeast. On the palate, it is complex, fresh, dry, savory, salty, and slightly bitter, leaving a long and persistent memory.

Graham’s Late Bottled Vintage, like Vintage Port, is a wine of a single year however it is not a 'declared' Vintage Port. Whereas Vintage Port spends only two years in casks and then matures in bottle, LBV is aged in casks and then bottled at between four and six years of age. This wood-ageing encourages the wine’s development and thus, at the time of bottling it has completed its maturation and is ready for drinking, without the need for decanting. Graham’s Late Bottled Vintage illustrates Graham’s house style very effectively: great rich fruit concentration with spicy complexity and depth, held together by superb structure and balance. Graham’s has always been renowned for producing outstanding Ports and its Late Bottled Vintage Port is no exception, standing as a leader in its category. While the fortified wine within is in the classic Graham’s LBV style, the packaging has been revamped. The new bottle is 18% lighter than previous Graham’s LBV bottles, weighing 450 grams. The house previously launched its Six Grapes Reserve Ruby Port in the same, lighter bottle in a bid to reduce carbon emissions from shipping.

A new Muscat de Beaumes de Venise in 2023 from d'Ourea - 100% Muscat Petit Grain made in a a bright, not too sweet style. Invigorating and lovely.

Attractive cassis nose with powerful, concentrated fruit aromas. Fresh, rich, firm and full of fruit including, dark berries and chocolate. A wine with good body, structure and length. Single Quinta wines need decanting as they are usually a decade old, and will throw a sediment as they age. Walnuts are an excellent accompaniment to Vintage Port, along with rich flavoured cheeses such as Silton and dried fruits.

Produced from beautiful organic Muscat grapes grown on a great schist terroir with a top-soil of schistous marl in the commune of Tautavel, facing south-east. The grapes are composed of 80% Muscat Petits Grains and 20% Muscat d'Alexandrie. Yields are very low at around 20 hl/ha. A manual harvest takes place in the morning, when the grapes have an alcoholic potential of 14.5°/15°. Very long direct pressing, at low pressure, followed by coarse settling overnight in the open air. Fermentation takes place in vat, at a temperature of 20-23°C. It is stopped by mutage with certified organic neutral alcohol (representing a maximum of 10% of the final volume). Aging takes place on fine lees, in closed stainless steel vats, sheltered from oxidation. This is the finest and freshest Muscat de Rivesaltes we've found.
