Dom. Comelade
100% Grenache Noir, harvested from various vineyards in the Roussillon is then partially fermented and spirit added to create a port like red wine, but with softer tannins and lower alcohol 16%. Sweet, fruity and a joy with chocolate. "It smells a little like freshly polished, old teak and mahogany furniture in a huge room full of echoing ancient flagstone floors. But oh, oh, oh, the taste! Blackberry jam. Blackberry jam lavishly heaped on oh-so-slightly-burnt nutty, seedy, dark-rye bread. There is a scrape of tannins; they feel like a piece of broken pottery gently grazed across the tongue. But I keep coming back to that luscious swirl of pure, intensely blackberry fruit, that has seduced me to weak-kneed compliance". Tamlyn Currin on jancisrobinson.com 17.5/20 jancisrobinson.com

Domaine Comelade
Lionel Comelade produces this stunning wine from ancient vine Macabeu and Grenache Gris grown on amazing black and white schist soil vineyards between Estagel and Latour de France in the Roussillon. Both white grapes were harvested later in the season in 1990 with high sugar levels. The grapes were partially fermented in concrete vats and then neutral brandy was added to stop fermentation and keep natural sweetness in the wine. Then the wine was passed to second use oak barrels and left in the cellar for 32 years before bottling (to order). No ‘topping up’ of the barrels occurred in the 33 years. The wine is tremendous, possibly surpassing the 1988. It is ‘ambre’ in colour. A bright, wild nose with orange rind, orange oil and warm spices. The palate is thrilling with great complexity and depth with thrilling, wild acidity which really charms. Astonishing and quite unique. The wine is one of the best value fortified wines in the world. 33 years of age, so interesting and delicious. A steal at this price.

Dow's
The grapes used in the production of Dow’s Fine Ruby were a blend of traditional Portuguese varieties from the Douro Valley, such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz and Tinto Cão. Dow’s Fine Ruby was aged in seasoned oak casks at our lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia for an average of 3 years, and bottled when ready to drink. Exuberant youthful fruit flavours make it perfect for informal drinking. Dow’s is owned and managed by the fourth generation of the Symington family, Port producers since the 19th Century. The family, whose experience dates back over 100 years, supervises all the vineyards, winemaking and ageing of this wine. Dow’s owns two of the Douro’s finest Quintas, Senhora da Ribeira and Bomfim. They were acquired in 1890 and 1896, making Dow’s one of the first houses to invest in premium vineyards.

Gonzalez Byass
Super-rare unfiltered special edition, available while stocks last. A wonderful and understated wine. Made without clarification or filtration, Tio Pepe En Rama seeks to emulate the experience of tasting Tio Pepe straight from the cask and is super-fresh and super-charged with flavour. Initially approached as an experimental bottling, the success of Tio Pepe Fino En Rama has pioneered a whole new sherry category, in which Tio Pepe played a key role. Tío Pepe en Rama 2025 presents a pale gold colour with slight turbidity, a result of the presence of or in suspension. Its nose is intense and fragrant, with notes of chalk, talc, iodine, and salt, intertwined with aromas of nuts, chamomile, lemon, bakery, and fresh yeast. On the palate, it is complex, fresh, dry, savory, salty, and slightly bitter, leaving a long and persistent memory.

Graham's
Graham’s Late Bottled Vintage, like Vintage Port, is a wine of a single year however it is not a 'declared' Vintage Port. Whereas Vintage Port spends only two years in casks and then matures in bottle, LBV is aged in casks and then bottled at between four and six years of age. This wood-ageing encourages the wine’s development and thus, at the time of bottling it has completed its maturation and is ready for drinking, without the need for decanting. Graham’s Late Bottled Vintage illustrates Graham’s house style very effectively: great rich fruit concentration with spicy complexity and depth, held together by superb structure and balance. Graham’s has always been renowned for producing outstanding Ports and its Late Bottled Vintage Port is no exception, standing as a leader in its category. While the fortified wine within is in the classic Graham’s LBV style, the packaging has been revamped. The new bottle is 18% lighter than previous Graham’s LBV bottles, weighing 450 grams. The house previously launched its Six Grapes Reserve Ruby Port in the same, lighter bottle in a bid to reduce carbon emissions from shipping.

Domaine des Schistes
Produced from beautiful organic Muscat grapes grown on a great schist terroir with a top-soil of schistous marl in the commune of Tautavel, facing south-east. The grapes are composed of 80% Muscat Petits Grains and 20% Muscat d'Alexandrie. Yields are very low at around 20 hl/ha. A manual harvest takes place in the morning, when the grapes have an alcoholic potential of 14.5°/15°. Very long direct pressing, at low pressure, followed by coarse settling overnight in the open air. Fermentation takes place in vat, at a temperature of 20-23°C. It is stopped by mutage with certified organic neutral alcohol (representing a maximum of 10% of the final volume). Aging takes place on fine lees, in closed stainless steel vats, sheltered from oxidation. This is the finest and freshest Muscat de Rivesaltes we've found. We are very happy to be shipping this great example from the finest of growers to the UK.

Montesquiou Freres
The Montesquiou family have been a source of Jurancon wines for generations, today it is run by brothers Sébastien and Fabrice who have raised the quality of the estate to a new level. The brothers employ many of the techniques of biodynamic viticulture so that no insecticides and herbicides are used. Superb value dessert wine. The vineayrds of Jurancon are blessed with a very dry autumn allowing grapes to be left on the vine well into November, by which time they have begun to dry, concentrating the sugars and the flavours, whilst retaining all of the bracing acidity which is the hallmark of Petit Manseng. The palate hits you with a mouthful of rich apricot and peach flavours, as well as significant sweetness from 120grams+ residual sugar. Still you have great acidity, length and richness. A joy and terrific value.

G.D. Vajra
Any fresher and I'd have to spank it. Wildly exuberant, the flavours veer from petals to grapefruit, musk to gooseberry. I'd like to say frivolous but it's actually very bloody serious! jancisrobinson.com of a previous vintage: "Delightfully grapey nose. Utterly fragrant without being OTT. Scented with orange flower water. Cool and juicy and so charming". The Wine Advocate "G.D. Vajra earns top scores for its perfectly designed portfolio of Piedmont wines. Well balanced against various price points (and all very reasonable), the estate offers excellent high-end Barolos from single vineyards, the super accessible and charming Barolo Albe, and a whole range of lower-end wines that are all creative in terms of graphics and design and extremely innovative in terms of winemaking, blends and overall approach. The G.D. Vajra portfolio should be a model for all sorts of up-and-coming wineries".

Rolly-Gassmann
Rolly-Gassmann is a domaine like no other and has a unique style. It is located at Rorschwihr, a sleepy village on the northern rim of Haut-Rhin. The vineyards are located in Rorschwihr and the neighbouring Rodern and Bergheim. The wines are small masterpieces with very good definition. They all carry the signature of Rolly-Gassmann, a certain shameless, velvety sweetness. The fruit is rich and manages to balance the fruit with a vibrant acidity to form wines that melt on the palate.

Cave de Hunawihr
Sheltered from oceanic influence by the Vosges Mountains, the Alsace wine region enjoys practically the lowest rainfall in France (only 400-500mm per year) and is blessed with a semi-continental climate, sunny, hotand dry. These optimal weather conditions, along with a nice and cool fall season, allow the grapes to ripen slowly and to develop an amazing complexity of aromas. Overt Riesling character at once, with baked tertiary fruit. Evolving. A touch musky. Great balance at 90g/l RS. Not cloying, rather Tarte au Citron. Hugely persistent.

Valdespino
Aged eight years under a natural layer of 'flor' yeast, and given a further eight years of 'oxidative' ageing prior to being blended with a small amount of Pedro Ximenez before bottling. This superior Amontillado is intense with notes of caramel and toffee, roasted hazelnuts and a touch of raisin sweetness. Darker and fuller than the Tio Diego through the addition of must and PX. Rich, full and textured with a bitter sweet finish.

Fonseca
In the early 1950’s, the rising demand for Vintage ports led Fonseca to create a second vintage port under the ‘Guimaraens’ label. Blended from slightly less powerful components, Guimaraens Vintage Ports are made in years when the wines are more supple and early maturing though they are drawn from the same three estates. They differ only in that they are more approachable, ready to drink earlier and for their quality and rarity offer exceptional value. “Caramelised black cherry, liquorice, tea leaves. Pruny. A bite of grippy tannins.” IWC 2019 Silver
