This Loire Valley sweet wine has a lovely golden colour with rich aromas of peach and pear giving a "chewing the fruit" sensation. A very complex, persistent and well balanced wine.

This is our own labelled house wine and one of our best sellers. Typically juicy, with lots of delicious red fruits, a lick of oak adding some vanilla, and soft tannins at the finish. Every mouthful is so enjoyable.

"The 2001 Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva is the follow-up of the 1995. There is a sense of harmony and elegance, of nuance and subtleness that wasn't quite the same in the Bosconia, as comparing both wines is inevitable. They started picking the red grapes the 15th of October, and the last grapes were picked the 29th of October with good weather. The grapes ripened properly and thoroughly, and the wine has great balance for a long aging in bottle. This is 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacho and 5% each Graciano and Mazuelo that fermented in their 153-year-old oak vats with indigenous yeasts and matured in used barrels for 10 years. It has 13% alcohol, a pH of 3.4 and 6.4 grams of acidity (tartaric). The nose shows young (tasting it blind, you'd guess a 10-year old wine, not a 20-year-old wine!). It has a nose of sweet spices, underbrush and cigar ash, somewhat balsamic, bramble fruit with perfect ripeness, integrated and young but starting to show some tertiary complexity. The palate is velvety and medium-bodied, with fine-grained, chalky tannins denoting a limestone soil that brings finesse and texture and a sapid, tasty, almost salty finish. Deep purple, almost opaque in colour with an expressive nose of black fruits, pepper, cinnamon, spice and violets. A seductive palate of dark hedgerow fruits, very open and welcoming with an explosion of fruit and spice. Mineral undertones.

Jancisrobinson.com 18.5+/20 Cask samples tasted at the domaine. Sample cuvée 1: Peléat. Retrained nose, but with a nuttiness and spice. Rich and structured with stone-fruit characters on the super-concentrated palate. Sample cuvée 2: Rocoules. Stunning nose – grilled almonds and bruised apple. Textured, layered with plenty of weight, honeyed with real depth to it. Sample cuvée 3: L’Ermite. Incredible piercing freshness. The oak is beautifully judged, spiced pear and bruised apple with supreme texture and concentration on the long and layered finish. Quite superb. (AC)

Jancisrobinson.com 19/20 Barrel samples tasted at the domaine. Sample 1: Péleat. Opulent and brooding with marked graphite and earth on the nose. Black olive and wet tobacco and fantastic precise acidity. A sweet and rounded palate with firm tannins. Sample 2: Les Baumes. More reductive and meaty than Péleat – almost ashy and smoky with a charred note. Supple and ripe sweet dark fragrant fruits. Sample 3: L'Ermite. Stunning blue fruits on the nose. A ripe and broad sweet palate with precision and an iron-tinged note. So precise and clear. Sample 4: Le Méal. Lots of sweet spice and blue and dark fruits on the nose. This is a powerful big wine that carries its apparent 15.5% alcohol effortlessly! Sample 5: Bessards. Gorgeously spiced, mace and black olive with sweet wet tobacco. The tannins are seductively rounded. A suave, and cooling expression with power and clarity. (AC)

A beautifully put-together claret, made from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc from vineyards located on cool limestone soils. The terrific Stephane Derenencourt consults here. Lovely extraction with lots of fruit, ripe tannin and acidity. Long and complex and able to age although beautiful now. Attractive, deep ruby. Delicate nose scented with wild strawberries, fig, dried plum and a smoke touch. The palate is full-bodied with silky tannins and displays wonderful harmony with pleasant, lingering fruit. An elegant, beautifully crafted wine.

Black/purple colour. A lovely complex nose with excellent sweet and rich fruit aromas such as black cherry, black currant and blackberry. On the palate it is packed with solid, structured, rich and intense black fruit flavours and an admirably long finish. A fabulous way to end a lunch or dinner, Graham's 2004 Quinta dos Malvedos pairs wonderfully with chocolate desserts, such as chocolate mousse.

Under Bond Orders When you buy wines Under Bond they can either be transferred, Under Bond, to an account in a Bonded Warehouse or delivered Duty Paid. We will enquire by email whether you wish the wine to remain under bond or be delivered duty paid. For Under Bond deliveries. We will ask you to provide the details of the bonded warehouse address and the account you would like it held under. Excise and VAT taxes are not payable for wines transferred under bond. A charge for the transfer will be made at the time of delivery, and varies from Bond to Bond. We will let you know what that charge is in advance, when you confirm the address, and issue an invoice for the transfer charge. For Duty Paid Deliveries. Le Clos Saint-Hilaire is an exceptional champagne which is named after the patron saint of the village Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, the home of Champagne Billecart-Salmon. Made exclusively from Pinot Noir and vinified in oak casks, it develops an outstanding purity. A full-bodied and intense texture evoking citrus fruit flesh and pears in syrup (iodine notes, mandarin pulp), as well as subtle hints of panettone, bursting with rich flavours (puffed buckwheat and liquorice wood). The wine is characterised by a mesemerizing yet expressive chram with a generosity that carries the finish towards a delicious chalky minerality. A unique tasting experience for a rare and sought-after vintage from a small-scale production of 5100 bottles. Serve at cellar temperature, this micro cuvee will pair wonderfully with a Wild Turbot and a Burmese coffeee.

Another perennial favourite, this is an old vine Syrah-dominated cuvee that comes from vines around the village of Roaix, which is northeast of Gigondas. Its vibrant ruby color is followed by terrific notes of blueberries, blackberries, pepper and resinous herbs, and it has a kiss of vanilla that will be completely integrated by the time this sees the inside of a bottle. This is a medium to full-bodied, ultra-pure beauty.

Pale gold colour. Floral nose with candied fruits, lychee, tangerine. The palate is rich with very good acidity and a long, salivating finish. A harmonious wine. Superb value.

Costamiòle is produced from the vineyards in the Agliano Terme area, a place where Barbera best expresses itself thanks to a favourable southern exposure, ideal for this grape variety. Aged in small oak barrels, this wine is able to maintain the grape’s extraordinary freshness and aromatic qualities. Costamiòle is deep ruby red in colour with dark purple hues. Its nose is rich with aromas of fruit, plums and cherries that merge with hints of violets, cinnamon, cacao and leather. Its mouth filling palate is rich in supple yet well-structured tannins.

A blend of Genache Blanc, Gris and Noir, from ancient 90 year old vines in the ancient and quite amazing 'C|os des Escounils' that the brothers are developing and working on re-establishing it's other potential vineyard areas. This is beautiful, racy, elegant wine that is softly textured and very ‘modern’ in its freshness and balance.

Very Limited presentation to commemorate Cambridge Wine Merchants' 30th Anniversary, presented in a cream and gold Ramos Pinto 30 Year Old branded box with exclusive CWM 30th Anniversary branding. Amber coloured with orange and garnet tones. The delicate green highlights of the meniscus is characteristic of old cask-aged wines and illustrates the quality and advanced age of this fine port. This complex, perfectly balanced port shows rich aromas of dried fruit and vanilla. Agitate the glass and spice aromas of cinnamon and cocoa are liberated. In the mouth, the attack is fresh, fine and delicate. Ripe, dried fruit softly emerges with almond and hazelnut, culminating in vanilla flavours which linger gracefully on the palate. Appreciate this elegant Port at the close of a fine meal with good friends.It should be served at 15º- 19ºC.

Made by all female star team of owner Lindsay Hoopes, Anne Vauter (ex Screaming Eagle) and Jennifer Rue this has richness and elegance in equal measure. Extended barrel ageing has softened the wine, as has some bottle age, making it exquisite to drink now. It will keep but why wait?

Winemaker Vincent Chansault is particularly happy with this release of Gayda's top, single vineyard Syrah from a beautiful site high up in La Liviniere. Extrememly limited. One for Cote-Rotie lovers. The 'Dream House' in question was built by the owner in the vineyards for his ailing wife to spend her last days. She miraculously recovered and her story inspired Vincent to make his dream wine from Syrah in La Liviniere.

Cool climate freshness and fragrant sweet, ripe cherry and blackberry flavours, with firm, ripe tannins. Blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Mouvedre, Viognier. Drinking well now and suitable for cellaring for at least 10 years.

"I knew our terroirs very well, and knew that we could exploit them to the full. With Romain’s experience of vinifications all around the world, I was happy to launch the domaine". Gérald Delhome "This is an interesting newcomer to the ranks in the northern sector of Crozes-Hermitage, with vineyards in the communes of Crozes itself, Larnage, Gervans and Erôme. There are almost 11.5 hectares of Crozes across 20 plots, Romain is the fifth generation; his great-grandfather Flavien Delhome had vineyards, while, on his mother’s side there were vineyards under her family in the shape of Severin Habrard, so there are two old roots at play here. Father Gérald took over the domaine in 1993, and concentrated on apricots and vines, the grape harvest sent to the Cave de Tain. Son Romain came on to the domaine in 2018; he had worked locally at Gigondas and in the Ventoux at Chêne Bleu, as well as in Virginia in the USA. The cellar was built in 2019. The domaine is HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) registered, a green credential, and the 2022 harvest will be officially organic. 100% Marsanne (1950s-late-1990s) from sandy-loess soils on Les Védias at Erôme & Gervans, hand harvested, whole bunch pressing, 3-4 day pre-fermentation maceration at 6°-8°C, vinification in steel vat until 1060-1050 specific gravity, then transferred to 3-10 year 228-litre oak casks, lees stirred at the end of fermentation, raised 9-10 months. 5,500 bottles produced". Wonderfully idiosyncratic. A lovely delicacy and intricacy, one is almost unsure the varietal is Marsanne, such is its elegance. The aftertaste is really delicious and where the wine really comes into its own - savoury, saline, nutty with a note of marzipan and, oddly, a touch of aromatic hops. Brilliant from the young star Romain!

The Gianetto vineyard is next to Cerretta. It was never bottled before using the vineyard name as it was added to famous brands, like Prunotto, as fruit and wine from here in Serralunga was always an important part of Barolo. Garesio have the best part of the vineyard, east facing, bathed by the morning 'sori', between 270 and 310 metres above sea level. It shows a bit more power that the Cerretta bottling. So electric, so brilliant, so intense - tangy cooking apples, salty and savoury depth that's ever so juicy. Incredibly long, with an insanely beautiful rexture to boot. What a wine! We hope you fall as deeply for this wine as we have. 60% Petit Manseng, 30% Petit Corbu, 10% Gros Manseng. The Tauzy vineyard is exposed to the east. A fresh plot which allows the grower to push the maturities without the risk of developing over-ripe aromas and flavours. The soil is clay with iron. Yeild is 35hl/h with harvest carried out by hand in late October - only picking healthy, ripe, undried grapes. Vinification sees a slow pressing in whole bunches using only indigenous yeasts with no additional SO2 at this stage. Vinified in old wooden barrels of various sizes and sandstone eggs then aging on fine lees for 8 months in these containers, then a final three months in stainless steel vats before bottling with a very low dose of SO2. This dry Jurancon combines power and finesse and shall work well with smoked fish, grilled sardines, scallops, poultry in cream and strong sheep cheeses. Decanting recommended. The wine shall age gracefully for at least ten to fifteen years.

Berene Sauls has a very unique story. Growing up in a small village in the Overberg, Berene admits that she came from a beer-drinking community, and wine was never really on her radar. Her first exposure was at the age of 19, when she began working for the trailblazing Hamilton Russell family as an au pair. Lasting only a month, her talents at childcare aside, Anthony Hamilton Russell recognised her drive and thought a job working in the winery office would better suit her. Thrown in at the deep end knowing really nothing about wine, she was soon exposed to every side of the business - assisting with exports, bottling and labelling, driving forklifts and picking during harvest too, as well as on the side, "growing and developing a palate that wasn't there!" Her curiosity kept her rising through the ranks, and fifteen years after starting her career, Anthony offered her the opportunity to make her first wine, aided by proficient head winemaker Emul Ross. She leapt at the opportunity, and the rest is history. She named her business Tesselaarsdal for the small village that she grew up in, and if you look closely at the label, you can make out two people walking across the mountain. This is Berene and her grandmother. From unirrigated vineyards on the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge, and this is just her third release! Crisp acidity and lean minerality underpin notes of melon and tangerine fruit and accents of lime blossom. A triumphant expression of terroir, this medium-bodied, cool climate wine is both silky and fresh and boasts a long, elegant finish.
