We've had great success with these - top value from a forgotten village. Rustic, somewhat vegetal in a good way! Jancis Robinson MW 15- Light and lightly vegetal. Chewy and a slight lack of ripe fruit. Grainy texture.

Intense nose of real concentration. Vibrant and jewelly – like essence of Central Otago but with a drier finish than many. Still very youthful and savoury. Great stuff! 2020 Vintage Jancis Robinson MW

Domaine Bertrand Bachelet
Brilliant ruby robe, raspberry. A striking nose, with an aroma of red fruit, blackcurrant. Fresh on the palate, with peppery notes. The Maranges appellation is the youngest of the Côte de Beaune family, making its debut in May 1989. It spans three villages, namely Dezize-lès-Maranges, Cheilly-les-Maranges and Sampigny-les-Maranges. Several hills and slopes make up this appellation, all south/south-east-facing, at an altitude of between 200 and 400 metres. The Maranges 1ers Crus are spread over seven distinct climats.

Vincent Girardin
Les Gravières premier cru is on Santenay's border with Chassagne-Montrachet. It gets a bit more sun than most of the commune, and is one of the best Santenay vineyards, for both reds and whites. While the excellent Vincent Girardin is better known for whites, this Pinot is nonetheless reliable, and good value for Burgundy in this particularly good vintage. Plenty of red berry fruit, with earth and subtle spice. It is tangy and vibrant, still youthful. Soft and with lots of savoury interest.

A vivid nose of deep florals: dark roses, violets, and an undertow of ripe red fruit. The palate really shows the best of each vineyard that makes up the cuvée. A pure but powerful drive of fruit on a perfect cusp of ripeness, with complexing notes of sandalwood and spice. This is all about harmony and balance with the transparency of fruit allowing the detail to shine through. Silken tannins finish the package. Felton Road
The complete epitome of this iconic wine. Dark fruits, crushed herbs, silky but palpable texture, weightless power, chocolate tannins with wafts of smoky mocha, followed by the length that defines its reputation. When a wine is this true to its hallmarks, one is left with very little to say. Au Bon Climat
The 2018 “La Bauge” is a classic Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir. It is a wine of great aromatics and character showing black cherry/cranberry fruit, rose petal, earth and spice. It has a lavish structure and rich wood scents. Balance is the key to this wine. A balance of oak and fruit, a balance of tannin and acid, and a balance of elegance and intensity. The "La Bauge" Pinots have a more integrated structure and suppleness early on, making them enjoyable now, though they will age well.

Maranges has got to be one of the best value wines in Burgundy, and one of her best secrets. In the hands of a great producer as Bertrand Bachelet it only goes to extend these opinions. A striking nose, with an aroma of red fruit, blackcurrant. Lovely tannic structure, peppery notes and hint of florality.

Giant Steps
A wonderfully aromatic, fleshy style. Silky smooth but no lack of tension or grip. Very classy Pinot. From Liberty Wines, UK Importer: Giant Steps was founded by Phil Sexton in 1997 and has since forged a reputation as one of the Yarra Valley’s most exciting producers. Giant Steps was acquired by Jackson Family Wine Estates in 2020. According to Phil Sexton, “this partnership brings us the relationships and careful resources of a great wine family who are committed to vineyards, sustainability and faithful expression of site.” Melanie Chester joined Giant Steps as Head of Winemaking and Viticulture in 2021. Supported by Steve Flamsteed, she works with the winemaking team to honestly express each vintage, grape variety and unique vineyard site in the final wines. Her approach embraces meticulous work in the vineyard and minimum intervention in the winery. The Giant Steps Single Vineyard wines are produced from their best sites in great years. Founder Phil Sexton owns the ‘Sexton’ vineyard next to Coldstream Hills and Yarra Yering. This is the heart of the Yarra Valley, where poor soils result in minuscule yields and intense, concentrated wines. Planted by Lou Primavera in 2001, the ‘Primavera’ vineyard is 12 hectares of red clay loam, facing north/northeast. Giant Steps has a long-standing relationship with the Primavera family, having sourced fruit for their vineyard for years. The red friable soil is critical in shaping the complex structure and pronounced perfume of the ‘Primavera’ vineyard Pinot Noir.

Espinos y Cardos
This single vineyard Pinot Noir is bright, aromatic and fresh with subtle oak playing a supporting role. The emphasis on the delicious red fruit flavours, drinkability and enjoyment. A seriously cool Pinot. Between the mountains and the sea, Espinos y Cardos looks to craft subtle, pure expressions of classic international varieties from their two ranges. Focused on vineyards in Casablanca and Curico, Los Espinos combines cutting edge winemaking with regional typicity to provide a range that is at the beating heart of the country. Santa Macarena is a testament to the individuality and intrigue that so many Chilean wine drinkers are yet to discover. Amazing fruit, grown in the Leyda region 5km from the ocean, so close you can smell it, crafted into a unique expression of the enigmatic Pinot Noir that clearly demonstrates the real quality that lives in this land. Viticulture A single vineyard Pinot Noir from one of the most coastal vineyards in Chile in San Antonioi just 5 km from the ocean, within a small vineyard region 55 miles west of central Santiago and just south of Casablanca Valley. Morning mists and spring frosts, often associated with the Napa Valley and Bordeaux are brought from the west coast by the Humboldt current. Winemaking Grapes are carefully selected and picked manually early in the morning . Cold maceration prior to alcoholic fermentation at 10C during 3- 4 days in order increase skin components extraction. Alcoholic fermentation was carried out at low controlled temperature ( Maximum 25C), which avoids the loss of volatile compounds (aromatic compounds). Regular pumping over to facilitate colour extraction and skin components. Aging in tank with oak to add complexity and oaky character to final wines. Final wines have a deep red- purple colour with delicate sweet red fruit flavours and aromas. Oak Treatment Time: 6 Months Type: French Oak % wine oaked: 100 % new oak: None

Benjamin Leroux
A well-woven tapestry from across the Côte d’Or, with contributions which include Vosne-Romanée, Pommard, Volnay and Monthélie, and some seasoning from Dames Huguettes in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. It’s rounded, ripe, pure and velvety. One-third of the volume is aged in barrel and SO2 levels are kept to a minimum, enhancing the creamy finish.

Reichsrat von Buhl
Organic. natural, sustainable viticulture As Greg Sherwood MW says of the 2015 vintage of this wine: "This is what top quality German Pinot Noir is all about" Super-serious grower, family-owned since 1849, organic, natural sustainable viticulture. Based in the prime Pfalz vineyards around Deidesheim and Forst, Von Buhl is up there with the best in this classic region - relatively warm by German standards, just north from the French Alsace wine region along the Rhine. As Jancis Robinson OBE MW notes this is a super spot for wine bargains. The nose shouts Pinot Noir: strawberry; spice; warm hay; all the classic markers. A whiff of oak, less animal than Burgundy, less plump than California. On the palate more classically German with bright elevated acidity, a cool lift. Let it breathe long, this is a bargain serious Pinot in the pale and mysterious idiom, well worth a look!

Domaine Meo Camuzet
One of the finest estates in Burgundy. This is from a single 1.5-hectare plot in the lieu-dit Le Bas de Combe whose location next to Vosne-Romanée is borne out by this wine’s open, lifted bouquet which would be more Vosne than Nuits but for that engaging hint of spice. The oak (50 percent new) is well-integrated and there’s a pleasing roundness to the palate - indeed, this is remarkably complete for such a young wine

Crystallum
The signature aromatics of wild strawberry, black cherry and sweet Indian spices are all in place as well as pomegranate, red plum and cocoa. A tense and structured palate speaks to the 60% whole bunches used in fermentation, with the tannins showing a pine-like freshness. With a generosity of fruit and a particularly upright focus this wine will age into 2035. Once a location for a film based on the life of Napoleon, the 'Cuvée Cinema' vineyard produces intense, age worthy Pinot Noir from Dijon clones, with aromas of sour cherry, musk, forest floor and flint.

Domaine Gavignet
A wonderful example of the 2022 vintage. Purity of fruit, wonderful aromatics and a delicate, ethereal quality. From UK agent Thorman Hunt: Philippe Gavignet and his son Benoit create Nuits-Saint-Georges with a profound elegance, countering the appellation’s reputation for often delivering more “rustique” wines. Gavignet’s wines are a testament to the terroir’s potential for producing refined Burgundy. Established in 1979, with state-of-the-art cellars built only a couple of years ago, we were treated to a fantastic tasting. Most of Philippe Gavignet’s Pinot Noir vines are notably old, with the majority planted during the 1930s and 1950s. The vineyards are cultivated as naturally as possible, steering clear of herbicides and pesticides. Hand-harvesting is a standard practice, and the wines undergo aging in a combination of new and older French oak barrels, with no more than one-third being new oak. All wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered. Interestingly, Gavignet remains somewhat of an insider’s gem, overshadowed by more prominent names in the village that command higher prices.

Vina Marty
The sake yeast no7 is also at the basis of this creation. In contrast to the Sauvignon blanc, the sake culture is less easy to discover here…,. This is because the tannic structure of red wine predominates over the aromatic characteristics of this yeast culture. Some bottle aging will change this. But will this wine have a chance? The quality is already excellent. Lots of cherry and small red fruit in the smell and taste, with a refined and elegant aftertaste. No burgundy style, but classic and at a lonely height!

This vibrant Pinot Noir embodies its cool-climate roots with enticing aromas of wild strawberry, Bing cherry and plum, as well as subtle undertones of dried herb, forest floor, sweet vanilla and baking spices. Domaine Claude Marechale
To quote Allen Meadows; ‘the quality of these wines is nothing short of phenomenal compared to the usual quality of the respective appellations’. Claude Marechal makes his wines as naturally as possible, taking his inspiration from his late friend Henri Jayer who he trained with early in his career. In common with Jayer he makes wines above and beyond the expectations of his terroirs. His wines are pure and sleek with vibrant fruit and great potential to age. In the vineyard ripeness is the watchword and the vines are maintained in order to maximise phenolic maturity every vintage whatever the conditions. No chemical fertilisers are used and the harvest is hand picked each vintage, Claude says he is usually the last in each appellation to pick which shows on the ripe fruited nature of his wines. After harvest the bunches are sorted by hand and gently de-stemmed before vinification using natural yeasts. The fermenting must is pumped over twice daily and once alcoholic fermentation is finished the wines are placed into oak barrels where they mature for between 10 and 15 months. From tastings of back vintages at the domaine it is clear these are wines that are built to age well. Claude has not changed his prices for the 2021 vintage.

Domaine Belleville
Domaine Belleville was created in Rully by the Dumont family at the beginning of the 20th century, and now has 28 hectares spread out from North to South Burgundy. Impressive winery equipment ensures only the best grapes are selected for vinification and the wines are pure and precise. The estate was purchased by two Americans (one an academic at Harvard, one in finance), and already changes are being made including a refresh of the packaging. Young winemaker Charles is highly enthusiastic about the new direction of the estate. With a terroir, plot focused portfolio, Belleville is creating wines of great concentration at great prices.Charles asserts that the move to organic practice has resulted in higher natural acidity in the wines. 10% whole bunch. 30% new oak throughout the reds. Pretty red fruit aromas with some spice. Rich and juicy palate. Very drinkable.

A heady fragrance of peony and violets, red cherry and pomegranate, overlaid with a smoky, earthy savouriness. Kate McIntyre is the queen of Mornington, consistently turning out the most critically acclaimed wines from this famous area near Melbourne. "A real treat of a wine, with rhubarb, beetroot, strawberry and spice flavours. A showboater, and while the stemmy character is a strong influence, I think it works brilliantly." 17.5 jancisrobinson.com (2014 Vintage)

Gaelle et Jerome Meunier
Gaëlle et Jérôme Meunier created their own domain 12 years ago. Their vines are planted on 10 hectares in 4 appellations Mercurey, Rully, Santenay and Puligny-Montrachet (including 1.2ha of 1er Cru). Their production is 100 % hand harvested and reflects their terroir. Gaelle harvested her whites quite early to retain acidity and this has given them a lean, mineral feel. Lightly purple. Bright fresh fruit, good concentration. Redcurrant, blackcurrant, raspberry, herbs, baking spices. Creamy, toasty oak. Well structured, moderately rich dark tannins, clear acidity. Good potential to evolve. 13.5% Drink 2027-2032
